started on Friday...so far so good, was hoping for a bigger loss tho. Whopper of headache since last night so hoping this is a good sign.
As Iv said in another post I found it impossible to lose weight while on prozac but Im off it now going on 3 weeks.
really, really hope LC works this time

holy moly, lady! You seriously need to adjust your expectations if 1 pound lost in 3 DAYS is not good enough for you! Sure some people drop a lot of water weight but not all, and you may not be one of them... so what? If you're on this journey to get healthy, weight loss will be a side effect of that. It isn't the be-all, end-all.20

Since you are dealing with several adjustments to your medical routine, please be cautious about your weight results lowering your mood. I have to remind myself it's more important for me to exercise for mood improvement than fat loss right now. It's a tricky balance.6

If I lost a pound every three days I'd be dancing on the tables! Please don't be despondent that you haven't seen a more dramatic change. You will lose more some weeks, less others, and some weeks you will GAIN weight. This is normal and healthy, so stay focused on the overall downward trend.
It's a WOE, not a "diet", a marathon, not a sprint. You can do it!!6 -
At this rate, you'd be down nearly 122 lbs (55.5kg) in 12 months. That's pretty good! Introducing moderate exercise can help influence weight loss as well.6

@Phrick said it best....adjust your expectations.
Unless you have loads of weight to lose (I'm talking 100+ pounds) then you are not going to be dropping 50 pounds in 8 weeks. Or did the article say 49?
You have been doing this for three days. This, like other methods that aren't crash diets, is going to take time. But one benefit over other ways of eating is that you generally find yourself satisfied with less because the food is much richer than a standard diet.6 -
You've made a very good start. It is worrying that you seem to feel disappointed in the weight loss that is actually quite fantastic. I say this because it's incredibly common to lose nothing in the 2nd or 3rd weeks. It may not happen until later, but at some point, sooner than later most likely, the scale will not go down and quite likely will go up a bit. It's very, very, very, very common and you will need to be able to be ok with it and push through because long term success depends on consistency.8

if that was the case Id be dead LOL..trying to lose 30lbs. I do exercise..nothing too major cycling, walking, yoga, swimming etc.
Guess I'll have to learn a bit of patience4 -
ok thanks everyone...feel like a bit of a drama queen now !! No I dont have a whole load of weight to lose, looking to lose 30lbs.
Guess Im just being impatient. I just want it gone and then maintain !! I did LC a few years ago and lost 8lb in the first week...so think I was expecting the same result.
Thanks for all the advice...slow n steady wins the race6 -
You got this!1

It seems LCHF works differently each time for everyone. My first attempt was a few years ago but I didn't see results on the scale so I gave up after 4 months. I would have been a 5 year vet by now if I would have stuck it out! Instead I ate ice cream and cake and chips and gained even more weight.
This time I have lost 28 lbs in 4 months. Weight loss has slowed to .2 or .6 a week but I continue to SEE my waist getting smaller. I am in it for the long haul. This woe makes me feel more "normal"...whatever that is, LOL!!!7 -
Sorry, but I'll warn you now.... the last 10 will take "forever'!! Or so it seems. I lost just over 30 lbs and the last 10 took twice as long as the first 20.
Deep breath, and stay calm, lol.8 -
Measure! Before you get to much farther in. Everything. My friend even had me measure her chin! I see on here a lot people wished they would have sooner.3

I very much agree with this. Measure places that you don't think matter.
I lost around my rib cage and neck and arms but not really at my waist at first. I had lost 10 pounds but my clothes seemed the same. I had measured right after I started so I was able to see that I had lost lots of fat... Just not from the exact place I really wanted to.
Even in the last 8 months, I haven't lost any weight at all, but I've gotten smaller. Had to buy new clothes...
And I had to start wearing my watch on a smaller tab. REALLY?!?!? Seriously body! Get with the program! I'm not too worried about losing fat in my wrist! Lol4 -
@Sunny_Bunny_ I think the wrist thing was one of the craziest for me. Wrists and ankles. I never had cankles or anything, but I was proportionally larger than the average person. I had to use anklets as bracelets and small necklaces doubled for anklets. I now have nearly dainty wrists and ankles in comparison! I never expected that. I think a good deal of it was swelling/inflammation, too...7

@tattoomary Take measurements as well. My scale says I've only lost 6lbs in 3wks. My clothes say otherwise. I've dropped a bra size, 2 shirt sizes and 2 sizes in jeans. The scale lies6

That's me! I wish I'd measured EVERYTHING...I only did my natural waist and it is barely changing at all while I watch my muffin top and spare tire shrink.....I have nothing documented of that progress....sigh.0 -
I totally recommend measuring. Those are what kept me going when the scale didn't budge.1
-
Take pictures too! I started a photo gallery to see how I'm coming along4

Be patient but also be sure you're counting your food intake properly. I am the world's worst at eyeballing quantities and weights. A good food scale, preferably with a "tare function" and recording in both ounces and grams is essential for me.
I keep forgetting Miss Piggy's best beauty tip: "Never eat more at one sitting than you can lift."5
