I know exactly how you feel! And with my low thyroid it's not budging at all! So with my clean eating n lifting weights n cardio...now what?0

Understand how you feel, have the same problem, my weight has refused to budge no matter what I try, whether I weigh correctly, eat healthily exercise etc, maybe I'm not eating enough, but I'm only a small person, any suggestions?0

You might be counting calories already, to make sure that you're maintaining a deficit, the most important part of weight loss, and simply not have mentioned it.1 -

How many calories a day are you eating, what is your average activity level, and how many minutes a week do you exercise? I'm small, moderately active, hypothyroid, get about 180 minutes of cardio per week, strength train twice a week, and I'm maintaining my goal weight on 1450 calories a day. I lose if I consistently cut down to about 1200 a day.
Eating more protein makes me happier about eating 1450 cal a day.1 -
Well I just started a new program of lifting weights 6 x a wk, cardio 4 x wk, eating clean n no carbs after 3 pm. After 4 wks I've lost 1 pound...WOW!2

Even if the actual numbers on the scale don't decrease, you know that you're more fit and muscular and that you have more endurance. It's all good !!!!1

I just started back to really honestly tracking everything that goes into my mouth. I also just started an exercise routine. For the past 4 months I was gaining about 2-3 pounds a week! Do you think it is better to weigh yourselves every day or every week?0

I'm a firm believer in weighing daily. And recently heard a study that said daily weighers weigh less on average and are more likely to make good decisions about their meals.3 -
I don't weigh myself very often, however I track my waist measurement closely, along with the fit of my tightest jeans, which aren't very tight at the moment. I can see the value of daily weighings. I only weigh myself on the medical scale at my gym, and I'm not at the gym at the same time every day. My weight fluctuates a fair amount during the course of a day.1

Makes sense. I have a good digital scale, and weigh after my morning pee before the shower.2 -
I am finding weight loss to be so slow also. I am weighing every single thing I put in my mouth and sticking to 1200 calories a day. I workout every day for 30-45 minutes doing weights or cardio. The scale is creeping at a snails pace. I won't give up but I can say for certain losing weight during perimenopause is more than just calories in vs calories out.5

It looks like I will lose about 1/4-1/3 lb a week ( so basically a pound a month) eating at 1300 calories a day. I hope I actually lose that much!
I hear that after menopause it actually gets a bit easier. I am hoping. . . . .0 -

I've heard that as well. A friend of mine tried to lose 50Lbs for years. Then one day (post meno) she just started losing!0 -

I've never heard that, but YAY!!!! I like it. I certainly have mental discipline that I never had in my twenties, thirties, or forties.1 -
I'm on 1300 a day and I've averaged about a pound per month... It's so frustrating... Oh well at least I'm not gaining anymore2
-
@tigerblue I used to be able to lose a pound a week on 1300,.... Now the weight just hangs on.... I still have Tom but not as regular.... . I don't want to go below 1300 cause I get hangry!!0

Don't I know it! I've never struggled with losing a couple of pounds now it's torturously slow!!1

I am so sick of "weight". I eat about 1200 cals a day, trained for a 2 day 150 mile bike ride all summer, did the bike ride. Swore I would not weigh myself until Sept 1. Weighed exactly the same!!!! Very depressing, frustrating but like my Doc says "numbers are good, you FEEL good, so why are your worried about your weight" I let her have it!!! LOL3

Ugh so frustrating I know!! My doc has told me not to worry if I can weight in menopause. Umm, no. I'm going to worry. And I'm going to try to do something about it.1 -
I was doing pretty good but had to go back on my medication for neuralgia. It's all water, but I'm up four pounds and puffy. I'm focusing on fitness goals instead of weight loss right now, but I'm very annoyed that the smaller things I was fitting into are snug again. No idea when it will change either.1

I feel all your frustrations!!! I'm in the same boat...dang it is so depressing.0

I've been doing Jamie Eason's 12 wk challenge and finished am starting phase 2 over. Weight lifting, jumping, jogging, squats, lunges, jump rope. Not one pound lost! 8 mo w/o a period. My older sister who's gone thru it, jogs and lost 12 lbs in a month n a half. Seriously...it's discouraging!1

Are you doing measurements? You will likely see changes there before seeing movement on the scale.1

I've given up--gonna eat at maintenance and focus on fitness goals. Also, reducing sweets and baked goods, and replacing with whole grains, more fruits, and more veggies.
Inexplicably, after just over week of eating at maintenance, I am down 1/2 pound. I'm watching to see if it is water, or real. Will keep you posted.2 -
I'm back on the wagon! Of course I brought my healthy breakfast (egg beaters with salsa and a whole grain pita w/flax seeds) and I walk into an entire wall of donuts and hot fresh bagels! Don't care, I'm sticking to it.0
