While Quest are my fav too, the other bar I can handle is the Adkins Peanut Butter Chocolate. About 6 grams less protein...not as good as quest but far better than cardboard0

The price tends to bounce around a bit on Amazon, but I've gotten Subscribe & Save deals for under $15 for a box of 12. (They run around $1.75-2.00 each in health food stores.)
How do these taste?
I only eat the peanut butter + sea salt variety, and I think they're great (if you like PB). Not especially sweet.
Thanks. I've looked for them locally, but will keep looking. Not willing to commit to a "box" without trying them. Thanks for the feedback. "Not especially sweet" is good.
They have a store locator on their site. Maybe there's a store near you that carries them?
Three were listed. None of them actually had them. BOO!
Ah man!! That sucks!! Might have to just bite the bullet and try a box. There's actually an online low carb grocery store that I sometimes order from and since they have them I'm seriously considering biting the bullet and buying a box myself without trying them first.1 -

Well, if you keep chickens, the $15-20 won't be a total waste, even if you hate them. Which you won't if you like peanut butter.....
Tip: Take one out, put the rest of the box in your trunk, and park your car down the street. Then don't eat the one you took out until it's raining pitchforks and hammerhandles.
PS They're better than bullets.1 -

I love PB. So I'll probably love them. As far as the plan for not overdoing it on them, I might take one out of the box and have my boyfriend hide the rest of the box...because even if it was raining pitchforks and hammerhandles I would still risk it and run to my car down the street to get another bar potentially. But, if I didn't know where the box was....Hmm. Most things are better than bullets, don't know why I always try to bite them anyway.3 -

I hope he hates PB. But then.. why would you be with him? Better keep an eye on him!1 -

Nah...if you love PB and he hates PB, at least you know he won't eat your stuff.
Coming from someone who's BF also loves pork rinds...it's a battle!2 -
I used to eat a Quest bar just about every day. No cravings, no problems. About a year ago they changed the fiber source from isomalto-oligosaccharide (IMO) to soluble corn fiber. I somehow missed the announcement, and (to me) the bars didn't taste any different, but chronic, unpleasant digestive problems ensued. I didn't make the connection for several months, until I finally saw something online about the fiber change. Quest blew my concerns off with a boilerplate "corn fiber is healthier for your gut flora, you probably eat too many bars at once, just cut back to 1/8 bar a day and work up, you'll be fine." Haven't touched a Quest product since--and the digestive problems went away within a couple of days.
The B-Up bars aren't bad, better texture than Quest, but a bit bland and with an odd sweetness. I like the taste of the Muscle Pharm Combat Crunch, though they have more net carbs than I'd prefer, and the coating can be crumbly.1 -

Perhaps you might suggest to the good folks at Quest that they substitute Maalox for corn fiber, which would at least be healthier for your airspace....2 -

My BF knows better than the mess with my keto friendly snackies, and if he does he replaces them before they run out. He likes carb loaded snacks anyway so it's perfect, it prevents me from hulking out on him.4 -
Quest did make some changes a few months ago based on feedback. I love quest bars personally. I havent had stomach issues or cravings. I usually take one to work everyday and eat half for a morning snack and half for an afternoon snack. They are sweet, but thats why I atleast am eating them. I think I probably eat to much protein though so I was looking for a low carb lower protein alternative. They are expensive but I travel a lot for work and $2 for a bar is cheaper than eating lunch in the airport.2

Pouring gold flakes onto your Quest bars would be cheaper than eating lunch at an airport.4 -
I'm bumping this thread to side wind towards protein powder.
I need a non-soy powder. (Found a tumor on my breast, had a biopsy, fortunately benign, but I'm paranoid now.)
<5 net carbs, tasty, mixes with water.
I don't mind artificial sweeteners or sweet tastes. Cravings are ok for me. I know it's an expensive product, but if anyone has economical favorites, even better! ^^0 -

Look into Primal Kitchen
I bought their protein powders from Thrive Market for my son and I've had them a few times.
Mixes with water great. Sweet enough that my carb eating teenager likes them (though I mix his with milk and hwc) and have been known to add peanut butter to his chocolate shakes.
I'm not able to check carbs right now, but I'm very low and it worked for me.
It's pricey, but if quality ingredients is important to you, it's a win.0 -

Isopure Zero Carb by Nature's Way is pretty solid. Tests well on labdoor as well.
ETA: it's whey.1
