Prepackaged Frozen Meals

Yes I know they're evil and all that, but I'm looking for finds in the frozen section for real quick meals when I don't have time and can't handle more lunch meat or the like. Have you found any low carb finds at the grocery store? I do pretty good in all sections besides frozen. All I buy there now are some veggies and berries, and the occasional sugar free Popsicle.

I don't think they're evil, but I haven't bought any in a while, I believe Atkins makes some. I usually pick up a pack of hot stuffs or bratwurst to keep on hand for something quick.0

I googled "low carb frozen dinners" out of curiosity and South Beach, Atkins, Lean Cuisine and many others were included with carbs under 20.
Buy a 3 meat frozen pizza and eat the toppings! Add extra cheese.
If you like beef and have a crockpot, stick a chuck roast, a little water or broth and some sliced onions in it and let it cook all day on low You'll get several meals out of it to freeze. If carrots fit your carbs, add a few to the roast. And potato/s if you eat them.
Not sure if you're looking for lunch or dinner. A roast chicken is super easy to make. It might take 90 minutes in the oven but if you make it on a day off you can eat on it for days and it freezes well for quick meals.3 -
How about pan frying frozen burgers? That's pretty quick and some frozen veg3

I normally cook in batches and freeze, but I also rely on frozen meals - sometimes I forget to defrost a meal, or sometimes it's just me eating so I don't use the larger portion frozen batches, and sometimes, I'm just lazy.
This is my go to choice and it's always in the freezer.
Michael Angelo's Chicken Piccata - 5 carbs per serving - very tasty!
I also like Barber Foods Chicken Kiev - it's 12 carbs, so I have to budget it in. They have other stuffed chicken varieties, but I haven't tried them - it is actually raw chicken with some breading on it that you have to bake for about 30 minutes, but they are pretty darn good.
Ball Park Fully cooked beef and cheese w/bacon patties … 0 carb - were not bad - they have other "flavors" but I haven't tried them yet.
Johnsonville Fully cooked Mild Italian Sausage - 1 link/3 carbs
Others ...
Atkins - I like the sausage scramble breakfast - 5 net carbs
Atkins - Beef Merlot - 6 net carbs.
The Atkins pizzas, I don't particularly care for - kind of cardboard like - but they do in a pinch, but better to melt mozzarella w/pepperoni in the microwave.
There is also microwave ready Hormel bacon usually in the deli meats/cold cut aisle - it's 4 strips packaged for cooking in the microwave - takes just under 3 minutes.
I also buy the Purdue "short cuts" sliced grilled chicken - they can be a base for lots of things - the grilled is 0 carb, so of the other flavors have 1-2 carbs … chop w/veggies and a small amount of alfredo sauce; mix w/veggies and butter; toss w/franks red hot for buffalo style; or just melt some cheese on top.

I buy the Atkins frozen dinners for Anna to take to school. I've not tried them but she's not told me they are awful, so I guess they must be ok.1

If you're tired of lunch meat, there's always boiled eggs or tuna with mayo for a quick meal, you can stuff it in an avocado for some extra calories, fat and fiber or you can dump it on top of some bagged salad.
Sorry, no frozen tips, I don't have a freezer0 -
I like the Atkins meatloaf meal pretty well!1

I keep a giant bag of mixed veggies in the freezer for quick meals and usually cook them with a frozen patty of some sort. I also buy canned pulled pork and canned chicken and make chicken salad or pulled pork fillings with that. If you're looking for something easy peasy microwave only I'd suggest checking out those steamer veggie bags and see what's in them for carb content and I'll link some stuff below.
The Atkins meals look good but they are all over 10g of carbs each which is kinda hefty for me. Some of the weight watchers aren't too bad either but are also over 10g of carbs. This all really depends on if you're doing low carb or Keto; these wouldn't be feasible on a Keto diet since you'd be working with 20g carbs a day.
Examples:
https://www.atkins.com/products/frozen-meals/breakfast-bowls/bacon-scramble (5g net carbs, not bad!)

I saw someone post this one on IG. 7g net carbs for the whole thing.
ETA: They have a few more in the 'SIMPLY' line that would be low carb.2 -
That looks really good!0

I usually keep a couple of the "Eating Right" brand (Please note: this is NOT the same as the "Eat Rite" brand - stay far far away from the "Eat Rite" brand) TV dinners (Safeway) in the freezer for emergencies. The one I like the best is specifically the "Shredded Pork with Vegetables for Lettuce Wraps." Total carbs: 4. I usually add some red palm oil to everything once it's warmed up and mixed together and pair it with 1/2 a can of butter drenched green beans. YUM! Also, just fyi, Some of the ingredients in their TV Dinners are questionable...however, part of the reason why I like the "Shredded Pork with Vegetables for Lettuce Wraps"...is because imho, the ingredients are decent in comparison to some other offerings even within the same brand line. But of course buy and consume at your own risk.1

I've been making various cream soups (condensed, from the can!). Very fast, and great for meeting macros. I make with HWC instead of milk, and then add cheese for extra richness. I serving is more than enough. I usually have a few raw veg on the side as well.1

Thanks! Lots of ideas. I'm sure I'll get over that premade taste soon but it's good to have options right now with my limited mobility. I never even thot to look for Atkins meals! Thanks everyone who took time to comment.

(Right now I have only one usable arm so even things like wraps or crockpots are too much of a challenge on some days. Thankfully it's just temporary)0

I've been in ketosis for over 3 weeks on a lot more than 20g of carbs. My goal is to not go over 50g per day. I'm a bit confused. How am I in ketosis if the limit is 20g?0 -

It is going to REALLY depend on the individual. I dislike the 20g hard rule because an athlete can be in ketosis at a much higher level, and by saying 'oh, you're not keto' when that is when they are aiming for, is unnecessary.

It's not. I'm in ketosis on 20-40 net carbs which is my goal. Sometimes even more than that if they are slow carbs. Ps. And I'm not athletic at all. I think 80-100 would make ketosis impossible. Under 60, possible. Under 40, likely.1 -
From Atkins, I like:
- Beef Merlot
- Crustless Chicken Pot Pie
- Orange Chicken
From Lean Cuisine, I like:
- Steak Portabella2
