Counting containers

I don't know why but keeping track of my containers seems more complicated to me then just counting calories. The two yellow containers a day seem a bit unreasonable but if I count my calories I can eat a little more Carbs. Can anyone tell me what the actual benefits of counting the containers rather then couting calories? One more question does anyone know how many carbs = 1 yellow container?
