Just FYI, heavy cream has about 6.5-7g of carbs per cup. So this would be 13-14g for this recipe. Not that you'll likely be eating the entire batch at one time, so 1.3-1.4 grams per serving.
Why isn't it zero carbs? The label says 0g per serving! Welcome to the wonders of rounding down with small serving sizes. It's the same way that Tic-Tacs list 0g of sugar, even though they're practically nothing but sugar.
Sure, it's not much. I don't usually worry about carbs in cream and high-fat dairy. It is still a good recipe. I've made ice cream this way myself.4 -
Some artificial sweeteners actually have carbs too for the same reason. The rounding down thing is where hidden carbs seem to always come from.
But again, this is still a good recipe and totally keto friendly. Just not quite zero carb.
Everything good is too good to be true huh?!? Lol0 -
NOM! Thanks for posting the recipe. I can't get really heavy cream - just regular old whipping cream in Canada - would that do? I have an ice cream maker.0

As far as I'm aware, it's the same thing. Some labels just say heavy while others don't. Have no idea if there is any slight difference or not.
I really don't think so though.0 -
Thanks for this .... I had a recipe that also used eggs and it seemed difficult so I was hesitant to try it. This sounds easier for a first try. I have a bunch of the DaVinci syrups. Thanks!0

Uh-oh. Laxatives per serving:
- sorbitol 4.0g
- maltitol 3.5g
(There's also polydextrose, 4.1g. I'm not sure about the GI effects of this one, but the name's not terribly comforting.)

I've had no issues eating it every night lol but I do suck on mints all day that "could cause a laxative effect"
But thanks for the info as I never even knew those were laxatives1 -

Evidently, they're not laxatives in the Southern Hemisphere! Maybe I should move.....1
