Protein..

It seems protein is my enemy in the LCD...I kept my carbs under 30g but my protein hits around 40-50g more...my fat is however 43g below what it needs to be today.
Do you think that this will effect my weight loss?

Are you diabetic or moderately insulin resistant?
If not, don't sweat it.
Is any of that protein from supplementation? If so, it seems you don't need to supplement.0 -
Sometimes I have a hard time getting my proteins in. I've started using protein powders when I need to hit my protein goal. Lately I've been using a chocolate protein powder to make "hot cocoa". 1/2c almond milk, 1/2c water, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 2 tbsp hwc, vanilla, and cinnamon. So good! And it hits the protein.
Are you worried that being under on protein will affect your weight loss? I don't think it will. But you want to make sure you're getting enough protein to maintain muscle mass. It's a lot easier to maintain muscle mass than try to build it back later. And more muscle = higher metabolism4 -

I'm not or shouldn't be.
It's actually from a chicken breast I ate. I didn't realize there was so much protein in chicken till the deed was done

I doubt you should have any issue with protein overages then. The GNG process is demand driven but with insulin resistance the demand is higher so it can have a greater effect in that situation.

Also if you choose fattier cuts of meat such as skin on chicken thighs, it's less protein and more fat compared to boneless skinless chicken breast.0

I'm going to try this, looks good! Thanks for the recipe!

@Kimo159 - that hot cocoa recipe sounds really good! I'm going to try it someday when I want something warm, but I've had too much coffee for the day.0

I've been known to consume upward of 300g of protein in a day when undertaking multiple lifting sessions, and had no problem maintaining a ketogenic state at >30g carb intake. GNG isn't the boogeyman that some make it out to be.1

@805_blondie and @coloradoartstudio if you guys try the hot protein cocoa, mix in in the blender. I have a hard time making the protein mix in well with just a spoon.1

If worried about low protein on chicken breasts just add a milled chia seed and flax meal breading after you cover the breast with extra virgin olive oil or butter that will raise the fat alot. My ratios at 240lb male are 20/60/142 and I hardly ever reach 20 net carbs more like 11-12. Protein overage and a simple glucose spike from it can be moderated by being a little more active. If you are in ketosis generally the short amount of time a protein overage will throw you out of ketosis should be minimal as far as weight loss as long as you do not do it constantly hence how weight lifting carb uppers stay in ketosis. The average would be about 30-45 minutes before the body intercedes and handles the extra glucose. I always tell others to try and follow the percentages of your macros with every meal and getting to keto adaptation will flow much easier.2
