I bought the Mickey T brand. I'm trying it in my coffee instead of coconut oil. The one thing that sparked my interest about this one is the person who posted that she uses it for ADD.

@Sunny_Bunny_ has even reduced her ADHD meds, if remember correctly, by using it. There was a thread some time back about helping use it for children to take therapeutically while at school and such... SOOOO many indications here that are interesting... Coconut oil (8-12 TBSP daily) can start to reduce the signs of Alzheimer's and dementia in some patients. MCT/XCT Oil can reduce ADHD symptoms in some patients. MCT Oil can help maintain a level of brain ketones in some patients... Is Coconut a miracle food?

That was me. A friend of mine started using MiCkeyT too. She has always suspected some level of ADHD herself and told me that she definitely feels the difference. She eats keto too.
I was giving it to my daughter (moderate carber with plenty of cheating) before school last year because she wanted to stop taking Adderall and Straterra. Yes, she took both! It helped, but not to the degree that meds did. I think she would've had better results if she ate strictly keto but she wouldn't.
I think I may give it to my son pre game when baseball starts back up so he can benefit from the focus and energy boost. Maybe even pre workout with some BCAA's when he starts conditioning.
I wish I could trust my Dad to take it in his own because he could really use it! It would just sit unused if I sent him some. Just like the fish oil and magnesium I bought him. Sigh...

Thanks for the recommendation! I feel a little wired after drinking my coffee all morning, so I wonder if that is my brain going "woah! Look at all this fuel!". I'm gonna try it every morning, and maybe the best gauge will be if my house gets clean or not lol. I tend to get extra distracted and have a lot of trouble completing tasks at home.

How much do you need to use to get the mental clarity effect?

I just take 1 tablespoon once a day. But I still take a stimulant medication for ADHD though I have been able to lower the dose by 1/3 without any problem.
Some might like to have another dose 2-6 hours later for another boost.

For those who are caretaking dementia patients it is suggested to spread it throughout the day so that they do not have a dip in ketones later in the evening as 'sundowning' effect happens.

We are trying this with my mom and I can see an improvement in her energy and mood already 3 weeks in. Right now she can only handle a tsp a day, but hopefully that will improve as we go.

Love my MCT oil use it daily for energy pre workout along with a half serving of whey these have helped me to maintain energy during exertion for the most part. MCT will also boost fat burning as it kicks the ketone and fat burn into drive as it and whey both metabolize fairly quickly. Keto on!!!

@Sunny_Bunny_ didn't you say you use both? I could be wrong. I was thinking of trying it instead of coconut oil in my coffee. I love my coconut oil in the morning!

Does MCT oil taste better in coffee than coconut oil? I am such a coffee purist that I can't stand the taste of coconut in it! :)

I like my coffee strong plain and black so I take my Tbsp of MCT after my first cup then have a second cup of coffee. I don't want to adulterate my coffee with it. It is quite tasteless, no problem even for me, (not a fan of slick grease).

The only thing I like that approximates an oil slick in coffee (or even Ovaltine) is, uh, coffee.

I use both MCT and coconut oil. Rarely add both to coffee but rather cook with coconut oil. Though, now that I'm not eating veggies I'm not really getting coconut oil very often anymore. But I think they both have beneficial fats and didn't want to eliminate the others completely.
I also like red palm oil.

MCT oil is completely tasteless. But you will need to blend it into the coffee either by blender or a frother works well too.

How do you use red palm oil? I find it has a strong, distinctive flavor!

I refuse to ruin my delicious black coffee and with any cream or oils I just drink a tbsp of MCT straight as the left coast MCT oil has barely any taste but the oil would ruin the texture and smooth taste of black coffee did not like it. Through easy food choices the need for things like bullet proof coffee bombs are obsolete. Coconut oil is perfect for cooking with I mix with some olive oil and butter to fat bomb meals like eggs. Keto on!!!

I haven't noticed a strong flavor. The brand I use is Nutiva. It's the only one I've ever used.
I do typically use it and coconut oil together though. Don't really know why but I've always used both.
I sauté vegetables or cook chicken in it. Especially when I make a stir fry.
I've even used it to reheat leftover chicken for myself for lunch the next day. It's a great way to increase the fat with lean chicken.
