Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Yesterday, @bocasdelbob reported finding a 'descanso' in a ditch near the road he was on. This image is what came to my mind. BUT, evidently what he meant as a different type of descanso
In Spanish, 'descanso' means a rest or a break. But, it can also mean....

But here is a New Mexico style descanso that is probably closer to what Bob found.
Personally, I like the top image better, in fact, I am ready for a nap. How about you?

Epic fail day for me was a few days ago. I didn't exercise or barely exercised then somehow talked myself into a 25oz beer. That devolved into crackers and peanut butter and that devolved into in the shell peanuts. Man o man. We got tortilla chips somewhere. My wife hides them. She will dole them out a serving size at a time on occasion. We are good more often than not though.

Exercise was left footed today. Got reasonable climb to 2,000 and some. 2 hours 12 min. 13 miles. Mr. Wizard is only giving me 1000 calories for that effort. Not much traffic. Guys in a dodge going down. He was kind of stinking his brakes. Smelt that for 2 minutes.
Hey, you guys know how to get down a hill without stinking your brakes don't you?
Those guys, I seen them, they seen me before, way higher on the mountain.
41 degrees. I put on too much clothes. I was hot up at the top but didn't want to break my stride changing. Stride, what stride? My climb speed drifted under 4 mph. Thinking about @RangerRickL 's treadmill speed of 4 mph.
Climbing 2,000, you know what that is like? I got this Ipod thing. It has a playlist in it that runs 90 minutes. That is kind of my clock. Often I just climb out to the end of my playlist, then I come down. Today I got the first song twice before I got to 2,000. Hey, for you Chicago guys, that is me climbing your Hancock twice.
Left footed, my breakfast was short one apple and one banana. So I did the climb on a bowl of oatmeal and a cliffbar. I got to the 13% stretch and my spandex didn't quite suit me so I walked for 2 or 3 minutes.
Descending. Did I mention that I forgot to put my handlebar bag on. Nice discovery! Here's to me remembering that my bike is quite a bit more nimble with that couple of pounds off the handlebars. That added spice to my descent. Of course I did have a bit of trepidation due to yesterday's flat tire. I like running on soft tires but they are too soft when you can roll them sideways on the rim.
So I get to the top and there is a black squirrel seemingly goading me. He was running out in front of me, stopping and looking over his shoulder. Why do I always interpret that as "come on man, keep up?" So I slogged it out a bit further than I otherwise would have.

I went an hung out with some slightly broken kids like I usually do. I am too lazy to write a baby story today. I got some in the archives though. I can't believe I am all into baby stories now. I must be getting old. Maybe when you get old you turn part girl. Maybe I better take some testosterone.
Today I just fed a couple of kids. That gives staff some serious R&R. I got staff stories in my archives as well.

My little buddy was attended by some serious professionals today. I wasn't exactly in on it. I was on the periphery.

Peer buddies. Why do I think I gotta say something about peer buddies? We are getting regular kids to take an interest in our world of slightly broken.
We had a peer buddy today after lunch. These kids help by just modelling and accepting. It is the coolest thing I seen in a while.

I climb up from this canyon, but this ain't as high as I go.

Kind of just shy of the top.

71 degrees for my noon hike. My Mr. Wizard only gave me 345 calories, but I'll take it, well, half anyways! And that was a good day. Well, as we said before, we all see the world from our own window. Yours, @bocasdelbob, is quite lovely!

I have a very good friend who has a great outlook on life. He often says, "There is more than one right answer." When you read the daily posts of our team members, it's important to recognize that we all have different ways to reach what is right for each of us.
For me today was great. I am working on an emergency estate plan for a 57 year old man who is rapidly dying of cancer. He has an adult disabled son who needs care. Tomorrow morning, I meet with his extended family for a documents signing. He is bedridden.I feel grateful to serve in this crisis.
    Calories: ok
Exercise: another day of 30 minutes of treadmill at 4mph

I just made cranberry, orange and apple relish to take to Thanksgiving dinner number 1, the work event. I like to take something I can eat without going crazy! You know, something special, yet doesn't rob you of your free will.

Thanks @MiamiSeoul for teaching me about MUVE dancing and Yoga with Adriene. And @RangerRickL, you must have a strong soul and a soft heart to do what you do. He is lucky to have you by his side at such a time.

I think about this a lot. I know disabled kids whose parents weren't up to the task, so those kids end up with a grandparent. We know how that lifespan equation works out. I think about not having an heir and the possibility that I might have a legacy. If I put some money on a kid I was especially fond of would wastrel parents be able to fritter it? My little buddy has strong parents and I think about my "window" into that world. Being a volunteer or being a teacher doesn't even begin to think about the strength you have to have in such a family. I have a lot of thoughts and stories about this. A little more serious than I have been.

Exercise? Yep! I took my usual walk and made it to the gym today. We worked on our Thruster lifts today and I can happily say I have a new personal record of 95 pounds on my Thruster! Woohoo!
Calories? I stayed under by several hundred today. I will definitely say that earning extra calories to eat is a big motivator for me to workout. I love my food..
    Tracking? Yep

Exercise: Yes, we went to soft play. It was the equivalent of what I used to do in weights classes at the gym like body pump as I kept having to pick up the pick up the heavy baby every ten seconds from wherever she'd got stuck this time!

@RangerRickL what a difficult time. I hope the rest of the family are able to support.
@bocasdelbob wow! Thank you for the views! I was advised against riding my bike during pregnancy and haven't been able to get out since having her so I can imagine it through you...though I was never much of a climber. Now I can pretend!?
@fitqueenbess I had never heard of @MiamiSeoul 's dancing either! You learn something new every day. A friend is training as a dance therapist. She raves a bit the impact it has on well being. One of her placements last year was in an old people's carehome. An lady with dementia hadn't spoken for about a year. 3 dance sessions in and she's slowly making some short exchanges again. Powerful stuff!
