Goal is to do 1000 miles of SUP, elliptical, glider, walking or rowing in 2017. Personally I like to post daily, so I will here, so it doesn't clog other threads.

That's awesome! And congrats on the 6 miles! But, you might want to start your own discussion thread to track your personal miles! I thought that was the point of the group that we'd each start our own discussions and have our personal miles in that discussion thread, so we don't clog up other group threads with daily or weekly postings.0 -

Had a busy week where real life got in the way (work, mildly sick fighting off a bug, church). Playing catch up with my posts.

Been a rough week or so...not much done. Busy and still fighting off the bug that returned this week...sick and tired of being sick and tired. But trying to get back into working out.

Had my butt kicked by the cold/flu bug that was going around. I think it's been at least 7-8 days of blargh, if not more. Today was my first real workout in over a week, and it was great to get back out on the water. Decided to take it a bit easy though. (Also got some planks done tonight.) Really has mucked with my mileage goals, but hey, plenty of time to make it up!

Been busy with work, healing a reinjured foot, and just life in general. So, here's my update as unimpressive as it is. But still trudging along.

Since I'm falling so far behind, I think I may try to up my miles for a while. I think I need to change my philosophy to "shoot for the stars so I at least hit the moon" instead of the current strategy of "just getting to the moon" and possibly falling short and never making it.
Instead of a goal of 4 miles / day for 5 days a week (M-F), I'm going to shoot for 5 miles a day for 5 days a week. Need to get back on track after a couple of weeks of nursing some injuries and just being plain lazy because work has been sucking the energy from me.
Then whatever I get on the weekends will be bonus miles (with a secondary goal of getting at least 5 extra miles over the course of the weekend).
That would be 25-30 miles per week as a new goal (1100 - 1320 miles in the next 44 weeks), and gives me a bit of a buffer until the end of the year for 'bad' weeks. And even if I just get 20 miles some weeks, that's still just barely enough to get me to 1000 miles by the end of the year (20 x 44 weeks left = 880 miles + 124 already done = 1004 miles total).
25-30 miles a week is a HUGE stretch for me, but it wouldn't be a challenge if it was easy, right?!1 -
