Hi all hope that we can all integrate to this new site while still supporting each other in the process . Trish

Aughhhh, sometimes you just get comfortable in your old routines and way of doing things. I guess a shakeup is good to get things rebooted every now and then. Maybe we will all get recommitted to our healthy lifestyles once we need to write out our goals and objectives again.24

I'm testing out 2 others too ! Lol2

Signed up for SparkPeople this morning. Kind of like it. May try using both for a few days and determine which one I will use full-time6

Ooh! And I yellow starred this so amazingly I'll be able to find it again! I need a glass of wine now after all this cc kerfuffle!12

Going to miss CC but it was the people there that made it great so if we can still communicate, talk about our days and get feedback from others I will be happy. I hope this will work and more of us CC'ers will come over. Thanks Trish for starting this and Chela for all the info so far, it has made the transition much easier... Chris13

Wow, here you are! I will put in my photo so you can recognize me... Yes. Thanks Trish for starting this. I need this community to keep me on track!4

Not looking forward to starting over with my food logs!6

I'm so, so sad that CC is shutting down!!! When I finally, FINALLY, got control of my weight loss and maintenance in 2016. I'm trying to figure out this new site and I'm hoping I can still log in my food to help me maintain. I need y'all to keep me accountable! Wah!!!12

Oh my gosh I am so glad to see some framiliar names. I was MrsHunter on CC but that name was taken here GASP how dare they!!!
I am liking things here so far, but adjusting to a different log style was not a happy moment for me... I used to log everything in grams and almost all items do not have that option over here... I'm about a week in now and things are starting to flow smoothly. I have to say though, their recipe analyzer is WAYYY better than CC's was. that made me happy7 -

Yes, I have started on Sparkpeople as well, just to see which is better. All in all, I am sure I could adapt to either.3 -
Thank you Trishcolli for starting this group! I will miss CC, but it was the community support I appreciated the most from the website. A food log, is a food log and I'm pretty adaptable with logging styles, as long as it offers my basic requirements. I utilize another Under Armour app, Map My Walk, and like the app well so I hope I have the same success with myfitnesspal (mfp).5

Although I was a newbie at Calorie Count, I actually lost 30 pounds using that sight several years ago and recently had rejoined. Its so nice to see some familiar faces showing up here. I have a Sparkpeople account but felt CC was helpful in the area of social support. I hope everyone is able to adjust to a sight that will provide ease of journaling, helpful knowledge and social support.5

Nice to see some familiar names and pictures. I'm not sure yet that this will be the best place to land. Does anybody know anything about the Fitbit system?2

i was edgsmith on calorie count, but there's already an edgsmith on this website. i'll be edgoldsmith here. good to see so many familiar faces.4

glad we are all reconnecting here. it wasn't just the counting calories on CC it was the people we had never met, that we now consider friends.6
-
Thanks Trish! Glad you started this group so we can find eachother again!!1

I start to like this app, it synchronizes the FitBit exercises automatically!6

I've been disappointed to see that logging by weight, and in particular, by grams is not available for all foods. I've already emailed the developers about this problem. Many people, myself included, measure quantities by weight as it is the most accurate. I'm very surprised that this facility is not universally supported here.
If this issue is important to you, I encourage you to add your voice to it. You can email them at https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/emails/new4 -
It would be nice to designate one day--I propose the last day of February--on which we all write a log entry on CC in which we can say goodbye at the same time and tell our friends where we have gone and how to reach us.8

I am also testing FatSecret.com, I like it. Has really good community setting. check it out. I started a public group called "Calorie Count Refugee", you can post while in the group, and all of Fatsecret members can see it. But the privacy setting can be fiddled with as well... I encourage everyone to take a peek.4

So many sites to test, so little time.....4

I have created a Facebook group as a neutral gathering space and another resource to keep in touch. The group is called CALORIE COUNT REFUGEES. It is a closed group for the moment just to see if it is helpful. Use your CC user name when you ask to join so we will recognize you. In the FB group if people want to know which site you are on you can tell them there. If you want to friend someone on FB you can use this group for that as well.3

It is so frustrating. I like the free Sparkpeople nutritional analysis the best, myfitnesspal has limited nutritional analysis. MFP want to upsell you to its premium package. Caloriecount has the best product by far.... Both are sort of slow.4
-
Well this is certainly getting interesting. I have now logged on both Sparkpeople and here. Neither converts most items into grams. That's an issue for me as I weigh a lot of food and grams are simplest and most accurate. The MFP mobile app seems more complete. Spark mobile app doesn't have a community tab so all social (like teams) can't be accessed. Both operate more like Facebook when it comes to social. To be fair I will give Fatsecret a look. It's good to see this group and the various Calorie Count Refugees groups springing up on all these sites. Stay in touch. I'm interested in your thoughts and experiences.4

Starting to get some response and gather people in our Facebook 'Calorie Count Refugees' group. If you are on FB please come join so others can find you! Tx! Dg3

Hey everyone, just want to point something out that I've used for years. While I have decided to log and post on MFP, I have always had an account on Sparkpeople. Two items they have that are tops to use even if you are on MFP or another site. They have a GREAT workout generator that allows you to develop a workout based on the equipment you have to use. It also shows how to do each exercise with proper form. For heavy lifters this may not be your jam, but for the rest of us, it's a great resource. Plus you can print off your workout and take it to the gym if you want. Also the Sparkpeople recipe builder and recipe box features are awesome. It allows you to create your own healthy recipe collection which you can share with others or not.
Features I love on MFP include the connection to my Garmin Vivofit, the bar code scanner works really well and finds almost everything, the quick log feature that allows you to save and copy meals or suppliments you take everyday with a quick click, (and that so many of you are on there with me). I hope you found this information helpful.6 -
