Non - Scale Victories

Let's talk friends, are we so focused with the numbers on the scale we are not celebrating the non scale victories? Please share your non scale victories here so we can celebrate them with you. From being able to walk a little further without being winded, seeing those cheekbones, collarbones, clothes getting bigger ect. These types of victories should be celebrated, because they are the ones that will push you and keep you motivated when the scale does not reflect the way we feel it should. Let the celebration begin!!!

When I started my journey in September, I couldn't walk a mile without getting shin splints and stopping halfway to catch my breath. Now I'm walking a mile on my lunch hour and two miles after work every day.8

In the summer I bought a pair of pants that ended up being too small because I didn't try them on at the store. I wore them today and they are very loose now.8

I had foot surgery 8 weeks ago and I was told by my podiatrist that I do not have to do physical therapy. I am way ahead of others who got surgery around the same time I did. With my weight loss it has eased the amount of lbs on my joints and my eating habits have given me the proper nutrition to heal and regain energy to do physical activities.4

I posted this previously ~ but thought I would share it here. I (male) co-worker had asked my last week if I had lost weight. I guess it's starting to show. If that is not motivation I don't know what it. Also, since Christmas I started a Boot Camp 3 x per week. My stamina is getting much better despite pushing through with a cold and laryngitis! Beach body here I come.4

Went through the closets again this week. Pulled out some more things that are too big. When I started this journey in December 2014, I had clothing in sizes ranging from 4 to 14. I had packed most of it away that didn't fit. Now, everything is out and I'm down to the last few sizes. As I reach each smaller size, I'm getting rid of everything in the previous size. In the past, I would keep at least a few things and those things ended up allowing my to gain back some of the weight. Not this time!

I had found a fitness journey photo from 2013 when I was 220ish (higher wish) lbs and decided to take one for 2017 at 169 lbs. Oh my goodness can you see a difference. I felt so proud of myself. My weight lose journey is not over yet, those little milestones meen the world.7

I was going out and pulled out a shirt I haven't worn since last year. I was shocked to find it's now a dress! Seriously, if the seams weren't so off (the under-boob seams are now halfway down my front) I could wear it as a dress! Another Goodwill donation...8

So today I freaked myself out when I felt a hard lump on my side. I than found it on the other side..finally figured out it was my hip bones. Holy cow, have not felt them in years. Woohooo for non scale victories5

Noticing a difference in my body from going to the gym. The scale is not showing change, but my physical appearance is.5

Wearing more of my clothes that I haven't been able to wear in years and enjoying going out more.5

Every weekday morning, since November 11, 2017, I have been going to the gym. I had a hard time walking a mile, which is 12 laps. Worked my way up to walking 2.5 miles, which is 30 laps. Then added sprinkled running laps within the 30 laps. Took awhile to get used to running 1 lap. Then worked up to 6 laps, then two sets of 6 laps running within the 30 laps. Today I was able to skip over working up to 12 laps and just ran 12 laps, within the 30 laps. 12 laps equals 1 mile!! Whoop! Whoop!6
