Hi All,
I went to see my doctor last Friday. I have not had the greatest health this past year, not really accepted (emotionally) that I am really diabetic. He took my blood pressure and some lab work. He expressed his concern to me, so I have been doing a lot of soul searching these last few days. I watched a documentary on becoming vegan, something I have NEVER considered doing before, lol. I was really impressed with the drops in blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol experienced by the participants in the study, over a course of 6 weeks. I have a Dr.'s appt. in 4 weeks, so I have decided to go on a vegan diet for the 4 weeks and see what happens. I am going to eat a bit of fish, probably 2 times a week.
Wish me luck!

@heathercorman I have a friend who switched to vegan a few years back and his health is amazing compared to what it is, but it is a massive lifestyle change and you need to make sure you are meeting all your nutritional needs otherwise you can do yourself some damage. Good luck with the change0

I had a great week but a few too many celebrations so up 0.6 lbs, ugh! On a positive note I did log all my food which is improvement and weighing in will keep me focused. I think I want to reevaluate my goal. It took me 5 years to gain 20lbs so am going to shoot for 0.5-1lb weight loss per week. I think it will be easier for life events.1

Slow and steady is definitely more manageable and means you are much more likely to stick it out and make it a lifestyle change rather than a temporary method of losing some weight, just to put it all back on again0 -
Thanks @bigzz08 , you're doing pretty well yourself, keep it up.0
