Cinnamon for blood sugar control

Does anyone else take cinnamon capsules for blood sugar control. When I first started this journey my FBG was between 103 and 116 at various readings and my A1C was 5.5.

Over the course of a year I lost about 60 pounds. My FBG would not go below 100 and my A1C crept UP to 5.6 then 5.7. I was ready to admit defeat and start meds but remembered my grandma said she takes 2 cinnamon capsules every night.

I started taking 1 every morning with breakfast for 3 months and at the end of that my FBG went down to 90 and my A1C to 5.2. I decided to try taking 2 capsules but it seemed to be giving me heartburn so I quit taking for a few days, planning to start back with 1 after 2 weeks. I had a few episodes kf heart racing (which was my problem to begin with) so went back to 1 a day. No episodes now for 2 days.

Just wondered if anyone else has any experience with this?

    I've tried it with hopes it will help my FBG stay lower. Apple cider vinegar too. I'm afraid I didn't notice much difference. Well, any difference really.

    I think I'm still in need of major overhauls though so the fine tuning doesn't benefit me much yet. ;)

    Are you doing low carb consistently?

    In a different blog that I read, apple cider vinegar is highly recommended.... one tablespoon taken daily mixed into 8 ounces of water.
    Cinnamon, Tumeric, and a few others are as well.

    I have tried cinnamon and vinegar as well. I could not tell that they make any difference in my glucose levels. I have discovered that everyone responds in different ways though to things in the diet. Pretty much you need to try things and see. It is all pretty complicated because there are so many variables. If you try the cinnamon but glucose levels are higher because of stress, the cinnamon may have been helping, but you just might not see it in the numbers.

    I tend to use a lot of cinnamon, tumeric, and cumin in my cooking, especially when bulking on carbs. I don't have any blood sugar issues that justify testing, but I can say that I get far fewer "peaks and valleys" from sugary foods when I include them.

    I was keto from June 2015 until this Xmas, when I switched to more low carb. I still want to keep carbs below 20g but it keeps up to 50 or just over every few days.

    My daily BG is good, but I have problems with fasting BG. It is usually my highest reading of the day. It's better when I am losing but I am not losing anymore.... I actually gained a bit this fall which probably doesn't help.
