Can't manage to find a Switch and don't want a WiiU, so no BotW for me yet. But the Zelda franchise is one of my absolute favorites, so I've been playing A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time (yes, I'm old school like that) while I wait for the Switch to come back in stock.0 -
Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Windwaker were my absolute jams. I am so excited to play the new one.0

Heck yeah! I didn't like Ocarina but really enjoy BotW. Was stuck at the mechanic for 3 hours today and it was a life saver0 -

Yeah 45 hours deep, it's brilliantly designed, everything just makes sense even the little logical things from food/elixer crafting to shooting arrows through flames to get flame arrows and much more (from various game mechanics experimenting as I think of it without spoiling any surprises).
I am also one of the rare fans of weapon breakage as it makes you have to strategise a little and not get attached to any one weapon, and to be fair I'm kind of glad there's limited inventory space over being over-encumbered because I always waste hours dragging my *kitten* to a shop. Not that I would take that element out of fallout/skyrim I just appreciate it in this game. Glad you're enjoying it.0 -
I'm totally 100% pro weapon breaking. People who complain about it just suck at the game. I'm 20+ hours in and the game still amazes me and surprises me around every turn. It honestly just gets better0

YOU GUYS. I just snared 2 12-year-old girls into playing D&D this weekend. This may be my greatest achievement.1

Get them hooked on games young and they won't have money for drugs3 -
Yoooo that's amazing I wish someone would've taught me to play DnD young instead of the bug dumb adult I am now lol. We're playing another session tomorrow night. I'm very hyped. Hopefully I don't eat pizza3

So where bouts are y'all texas here0
-
So to the ppl playing the new Zelda do y'all play on a Wii U or the switch I really want Zelda but would have to buy a console for one game. I heard the Wii U sucks. The switch is way expensive so help an old man out.0

Ontario, Canada here. I'm just south of Detroit, Michigan0 -
Not to far of a run1

I'm playing on Wiiu. I don't use the console very much tho, software and hardware are all very expensive and never go down in price. That being said it had some good games and Zelda has become one of my favorite games of all time0

So is it worth buying the Wii U just for Zelda0 -
We're neighbors, @Staceygram . I'm in Michigan.1
-
Well I don't think any game is worth buying an entire consol for lol. Maybe the wiiu will go down in price one day. Not holding my breath tho0
-
My ex got it for our daughter. I like that I can get Hulu on it.1

I can't see it going down in price either, mostly because as soon as your wiiU gamepad karks it the entire console becomes unusable (unless theres a hack I'm unaware of) as you need the pad to access the menu so basically you have to re-buy the machine since you can't buy gamepads separately (which will keep the price high as gamepads start to fail and collectors start buying them up as insurance).
Crowleyed72 I'd probably suggest the switch rather than the wiiU if you don't have either as the wiiU soon won't be supported by developers for new content now the switch is out. However as Baphometta pointed out check the rest of the library of games and announcements to see if there's other games you want for that console.
Zelda's an amazing game and I'd probably say a must play (although not a perfect game) but whether you buy a console on the strength of one game alone is something only you can decide. (Personally I tend to hang on until there's at least a few games I'm really interested in, I rarely buy a console on launch, especially if they rush a launch and have a weak line up) As for the WiiU I wouldn't bother unless there's a few titles on there that take your fancy.2 -

I was leaning towards the switch. Just don't have the 500 USD to get what I need. Lol any one know of similar games like Zelda on the PS.0
