Have you tried MCT oil? The point of coconut oil in the coffee is for the medium chain triglycerides. That means just replacing it with any oil isn't really going to have the same effect. It's why you'll always find coconut oil or MCT oil in the fatty coffee recipes.

No I haven't. It's expensive and I've heard so many stories about it that I'm kind of afraid to invest in something that may not agree with me. I do get the point of coconut oil. Still hoping I can find a balance they I can tolerate.

@clawson91 - Carrington Farms brand "liquid coconut cooking oil" is MCT. It is just not marketed as such. You can get it for $6-$7 on amazon for a 16 oz bottle...or at Walmart for a few dollars more. And if it doesn't work, you can just cook with it as normal!

Did you try virgin versus refined? I can't remember which one I could do cooked but not in fatty tea, and which one was the other way around... One was better one way, the other was better the other way...

@KnitOrMiss I use the virgin cold pressed coconut oil. But I will check into the Carrington Farms brand. Thanks!

The virgin will still have some coconut flavor and the refined will not, so it depends on whether or not you like the taste of coconut...

My H is put off by the flavour.... it's not a 'sweetness' he's comfortable with, palate-wise, in certain dishes.... I will investigate availability of flavourless. I know i've seen the oil in liquid form in a supermarket, with the label declaring it's flavourless, but I don't remember which supermarket it was - ! Time to do some sleuthing!

ETA: It seems it was my local Asda Store... the label states it's 'refined' so I'm not sure what that really entails.... It's available in a 250ml measure, (£3.75) so I can give it a try....
