    @2essie @mbaby86 @sussexbythesea @AnnofB

Could you please post your results in for Sunday 11th at the end of the night so that I can post our up to date distance on Monday morning :)

we are doing fantastic ladies almost 1/4 of the distance gone and I know by Sunday evening we will have smashed through 150 miles

@hoping_for_a_rainbow I hope you will still join us, even if you only cover small distances we are here to help and support each other on this journey :)

    Hi all - I'm Sam, 39 and mum to 3 boys (8, 10 & 12 yrs).

I've just joined the Team UK group & looking forward to hearing some motivational advice having never used the MFP community before & never been to a Ww/Sw type of class.

I've got minor OA in my knees which sometimes flares up, so I'll be using a Cross Trainer to clock up miles for the John O Groats - Lands End Challenge.

lovely to have you on board @purlycurls :)

your kids have the same age gap as my youngest 3 :) .. although mine are 16 18 and 20 now .. having them so close together was worth it, (although utter madness when they were young, certainly keep you busy ) my 3 are still very close.

There was eventually a break in the rain and I jumped into my walk ... 3 minutes out the door and the sky opened up so I had to cut the walk shorter I was soaked .. ugg .. still its better than nothing :)

Well we haven't quite broken through the 1/4 way mark yet but waiting for a few results for today coming in .. which will hopefully push us over :)

@purlycurls I struggle on the elliptical I have exactly zero coordination and always end up getting mixed up between going forwards and backwards so I end up not knowing which way my legs are meant to be moving lol

Haha! I know what you mean @slimpossible007 I'm slowly getting better though and can manage non-handed on the cross trainer now, which I'm hoping will be good for core strength - plus I can multi-task towards the end of the workout by doing a few dumbell lifts whilst "running" ... hark at me, I almost sound like I know what I'm doing! Well done for carrying on with a soggy walk!

This morning, up with the birds at 6:15am, I did 30 mins so you can add :

    DATE - 12th June 17

    DISTANCE TRAVELLED - 1.07 mile

    EXERCISE - Elliptical

Much easier to work out distance since Google helped me work out the calculation yesterday # of my 20" Strides/inches in a mile=distance

    12th June
    distance 1.27 miles

I went back to my first walk from exactly 1 month ago
it took me 30 mins then .. and I had sore calfs etc
it took me 24 minutes today and I feel great :) result

It was also my weigh in day today .. lost no weight .. but I have lost inches .. I'll take that any day :)

    1 inch from hips
    2 inch from belly
    and 1% of body fat

which I measure on this site if anyone wants to use it http://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy

Whilst rubbing foot cream on tonight I suddenly remembered why I had blisters....speed walking a 3.4 mile round trip for the school run after a bad traffic accident had blocked all major routes. So I'm logging that one in honour of wearing silly sandals when power walking

    DATE - 2nd June 17

    DISTANCE TRAVELLED - 3.4 miles

EXERCISE - walking (and later hobbling)

I'm thinking about getting a fitbit or something so I can log what I do throughout the day. Do any of you use one? Recommendations?

@Slimpossible007 Thank you for the stats. Interesting stuff

YES I too have a fitbit following 2essie example. Had it for over 3 years and walked 4.5 k miles in that time. Very motivating now have an Alta to record sleep. Like @slimpossible I began with an exhausting 1 mile round walk which took me 29 minutes, soon began to build stamina!

@purlycurls I don't use anything like that, but certainly heard good reports about it, My hubby uses mapmyfitness which is a free download for your phone, and tells you what distance / time travelled. It also estimates your cals burned if you input all your data (which he doesn't do) he just likes to know how far and how long it took.

I manually map my walk on https://gb.mapometer.com/ when I come home, not so great if you are walking off the beaten track .. but great if you walk roads / park / paths etc :)

I never believe cals burned on any app anyway they always seem so high.

well done on that power walk :) I've added it to your total :)
