I'm getting all 4 wisdom teeth cut out next week and am dreading trying to eat. My boyfriend seems optimistic but I just assume I'll be eating frozen homemade whipped cream for a couple days. Any suggestions??

I posted about soft foods when I had aan abscessed tooth, I literally could not chew anything for two weeks. A friend recommended this steamed egg recipe that got me through:
    http://thewoksoflife.com/2015/01/steamed-egg/

I didn't bother with ramekins, just made it in a bowl. I also made a version where I subbed coconut milk beverage and coconut oil, and added a little vanilla and stevia and let it chill for a sort of breakfast custard.

I also made creamed curry soup with cauliflower and full fat coconut milk.

If I could eat dairy I likely would have just lived on greek yogurt. Good luck!!

    Cottage cheese...

I've been dying to try the steamed egg idea, but always forget.

You did say, "CUT" out? Hope you have some straws on hand just in case your experience ends up being as um…interesting as mine was. Do you have a blender that you can toss stuff in? Any homemade bone broths or at least some of those beef or chicken bouillon cubes on hand? Some folks sail through wisdom teeth extractions without a problem, but I'd rather be prepared for the worst just in case. Yogurt also comes to mind.

It is surgery... my bottom two are actually embedded in the jaw bone (yay me...)

I was actually told no straws as it can cause dry socket. I'm hoping most of my recovery I'll just be medicated and sleeping.

With keto I try to stay under 30net carbs a day so I'll have to check the yogurt isle out. I just cut it out of my diet at the beginning.

All 4 of mine were embedded into the jaw bone, ugh. I don't know what all the oral surgeon had to do, but for a couple of weeks at least I couldn't get my mouth open very far so I had to use straws. I spent a good deal of my recovery time medicated and sleeping so the pain part of it wasn't a big deal. It just took a long time for me to be able to chew normally because my jaws felt like they were wired shut. You should do fine. Just don't forget to keep your sodium intake up to your normal amount. :)

    Scrambled eggs
Broth. You can also stir an egg into hot broth for egg drop soup. Add Chinese spices if you want too.
    Cottage cheese
    Greek yogurt plain
    Mashed avocado

I hope it all goes well and you heal up quickly.

Diet or sugar-free jello, rhubarb flummery (Google), Quark (very soft, mild flavored cheese which can be used and/or eaten the same way most yogurts are), egg salad (minus anything crunchy until your mouth heals), tuna salad (minus anything crunchy until your mouth heals), chicken salad (minus anything crunchy until your mouth heals), chia pudding, low carb smoothies (just skip the straw and eat it with a spoon).

vienna sausages - my daughter loved them after having 4 teeth pulled, you can mash them with a fork, they don't require chewing.

can tuna - again mash with a fork and she likes it with mayo and pickles, but I just used the juice when she was recovering, same flavor, no crunchy bits

can chicken - mash with mayo and tarragon
