A little about me: I'm an outgoing person who loves the outdoors. My favorite thing is making people around me happy and helping them to feel good about themselves. I'm from Iowa, and I have been living in Texas for 3.5 years. I work full time as an event coordinator for a country club, and I have a very regular work schedule.
How many times have you started this process: Honestly too many times to count. I haven't been in a gym for about a year, which is sad considering I used to have a great routine 6x/week.
I struggle with: Just actually DOING it! I know the ins and outs of lifting and clean eating, and I actually ENJOY it very much! But my biggest thing is making it a routine. If I have a routine, I can do anything. If I am in a routine of the same breakfast, lunch and dinner, it's great! I really enjoy eating the same healthy foods over and over lol. I just need to actually start doing it, which has been the most difficult thing lately.
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): Someone fun who doesn't mind sending texts back and forth throughout the day logging all meals and gym time for at least the first month or so (when I probably will struggle the most). After that, it won't need to be all day long, because I think I'll be committed at that point. Someone who becomes a friend, who can joke about different things and be 100% HONEST with me. Just be straight up... I know when I'm being a piece of crap lol. I just won't want to admit it or do anything about it without being pushed HARD.
Everyone, please use this as a template to tell us about yourselves. When you see someone's bio that you think would be a good partner, send them a message and get the process going! After that, figure out what communication works best for y'all and get started! We will post different challenges, workouts, meals, etc in this group (not this discussion), so check back in and let us know how it's going!
Sorry for the novel

A little about me: I'm originally from Germany, moved to England 9 years ago for uni and have settled down nicely here, working as a social worker for adults with learning disabilities. I love music and going to gigs etc. Obviously I love food, a bit too much, or I probably wouldn't be here!
How many times have you started this process: How many grains of sand in a desert?! I've had weight issues since the age of 8, so I've had quite a bit of time to get in plenty of attempts. I so need this so this can be my final time on the unmerry-go-round. I know what I need to do, I just need someone to keep me accountable.
I struggle with: My "inner pig-dog", as we say in German. It's the little voice that sings to you: " Heyyyyy, look at all that beautiful ice cream! REALLY look at it. Caress it with your eyes...now insert it all into your face!!!" - Mine is mega powerful. Also, I just really love food and rarely ever feel properly full. Dangerous mix!
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): Someone who understands the emotional rollercoaster that comes with a weight loss journey and who is happy to message frequently and have a laugh as well as talking about the serious stuff if need be. I'm hoping for someone to tell me when I'm being ridiculous and call me out on stuff, because when it looks like I may be heading for failure I can be quick to give up! I also see this as an opportunity to make a friend and it would be good to have someone who is also interested in this.

Name: Adrienne
Age: 29
Height: 5'7"
Current Weight: I've lost 17lbs, I want to loose another 17lbs but I'd be happy with 12.
A little about me: I work 12 hour shifts 3-4 days a week in no particular order. I am married, have kids, and pets. I stay busy 24/7 it seems and often cave for a quick/simple meal.
How many times have you started this process: and taken it seriously...twice. Once before I got married and now. But many other times in between that we're short lived.
I struggle with: 1) Time 2) A family that does not share the same goals as me. 3) Work family bringing treats or other people bringing us treats.
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): someone that I can chat with on a regular basis to share meals with, someone that I can tell "I don't feel like working out" and they motivate me to get off my butt, and someone who will tell me I need to get back on track but will not judge me for my slip ups.6 -

A little about me: I am a fun, optimistic, extroverted gal from Texas who loves meeting new people and making friends. I am currently a student at Texas A&M and I graduate in December of 2017 yay! I am studying to be an elementary school teacher, which says a lot about me right there. I have two dogs, a yellow lab and a miniature Schnauzer. Some of my hobbies include working out, watching Netflix, and taking my dogs for walks!
How many times have you started this process: If I remember correctly I started using MyFitnessPal in 2012 (my senior year of high school). It was a lot easy for me then to maintain a healthy weight since I was on the dance team and was constantly dancing, running, and doing tons of ab workouts. When I got to college, I definitely gained that freshman 15 (more like freshman 20 if I'm honest with myself). Now that I am back home it has become a lot easier for me to workout and eat healthy.
I struggle with: I absolutely love working out! The problem for me is that I am an extremely picky eater. I HATE veggies and most foods, which makes it hard to clean eat. I usually try to blend veggies in smoothies or I just pile on the dressing...I know it's terrible. So if I can find a partner who has a great way of incorporating veggies into meals or anyone really be my guest!
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): Someone who can handle my busy schedule and who can really push me to eat clean and workout. I would love to be Facebook friends with the person, so we can get to know each other better. I would love for the person to be encouraging, friendly, and just an overall nice person. When it comes to logging meals, I would be okay with checking in once a week to check progress. I'm looking forward to meeting my partner

Name: Ashlin
Age: 18
Height: 5'4
Current Weight: 237.8lb My goal is 199 but my ultimate goal would be around 140-150.
About Me:
I'm a college student in Ohio. I'm working on my B.S. in Health Communications and will be graduating next summer. I go to school full time and I work part time. I have two dogs: a yorkie and a flat coated retriever.
How Many Times I've Tried:
This is the first time I have been serious about losing weight. Before I wouldn't work out and would skip meals instead of managing my portion sizes and having healthier alternatives.
I'm Struggling With:
I like working out but I'm struggling with finding vegetables that I like and meal prepping. I may be a tad bit picky. I have a busy schedule and I find it difficult to force myself to cook when I can relax on the couch. While I have been doing a lot better, I know meal prepping would help.
Looking For:
I know a lot of awesome recipes to cook but I'm hoping to find someone that can push me to actually make them (by meal prepping). While I have a busy schedule I'm motivated to reach my goals. I hope to find someone that understands that I might have bad days but encourage me to do better the following days. I can check in at least twice a day if my partner wants me to.5 -
Name: Joe
Age: 33
Height: 6'0
Current Weight: 216.2lb My goal is 175 by June 15 of 2018.
About Me:
I'm currently working in systems engineering and Project Management in the DC metro area. I am married with a 5 year old son, and a 2 year old son, and a pack (3) of cats. I've done this once before, and was able to get down to near my goal weight just before I got married, so I know I can do it.
How Many Times I've Tried:
7263. That is an exact count.
I'm Struggling With:
Sustainment. I can get started, but keeping it going is where I really struggle. I am very impatient when it comes to getting in shape, so when I don't drop 30 pounds my first week I lose motivation and quit. Consciously I know that to get and stay in the shape I want to be in requires me to change both my lifestyle and my mindset when it comes to food, but subconsciously I haven't gotten there yet. I'm also not a huge fan of working out, but I do it from time to time. Again, it is a motivation thing.
Looking For:
A magic pill that will give me a perfect physic and health for the next 100 years. If no one has that then I guess what I want are a few people to disappoint when/if I fall off the wagon. I feel like if I can get some momentum and progress going then I'll be less likely to want to cheat. I also need some reassurance when I do cheat that I haven't failed completely.5 -

Current Weight: 135.5lb My goal is 126lb
About Me:
I work 9-5 for the NHS. I have 2 kids who I have shared custody of and 3 cats! I love walking and rock climbing
How Many Times I've Tried:
Too many!
I'm Struggling With:
OK, so I have BPD (or Emotional Intensity Disorder)... This means I struggle to process emotional situations and all the guff that comes with them. I get down about my weight and then it triggers my illness because I can't deal with all the thoughts and emotions that I stir up for myself.
Looking For:
Someone who can kick my *kitten* when I'm being lazy, someone to keep me motivated and someone who has a kind way of doing it lol5 -
Name: Scotty
Age: 54
Height: 6'5"
Current Weight: 281.3 (and I am Claiming it) SW 315ish
About Me;
Aw heck, I work a desk job, I have 3 adult children, 3 grands, I am blessed to be able to sit and do NOTHING for long periods. I do like artsy stuff to which end I am a photographer, painter (of sorts), and a film actor. I have done like a bazillion different jobs, can't seem to master anything, to include 20 years in the Air Force in the weather business.
Times Tried:
Too numerous to count.... I am 54.
I'm Struggling with:
Me, and my destructive habits..... I tend to be all in or all out, normally out.
Looking for:
Someone who likes dancing in the rain....err no wait...folks who are actively working on their projects.8 -
Name: Shannon
Age: 24
Height: 5ft 4"
Current Weight: 160lb My goal is 120lb
About Me:
I work an active retail job, engaged, two dogs a black lab and husky. I am very out going and love to chat and motivate as needed! I feel I am an all or nothing type of person where I completely change my diet and exercise and only focus on that or I eat ice cream and watch Netflix. Really looking to change my lifestyle for my health, but certainly need someone to keep me on track!
How Many Times I've Tried:
Too many to count I've tried so many fad diets along the way, ready to do it the right way!
I'm Struggling With:
Gradually changing my lifestyle rather then going all or nothing and failing! Again! Going to the gym even when I pull out a million excuses.
Looking For: someone who likes to chat and share goals and frustrations with. Keep each other motivated and help each other reach our goals!9 -

A little about me: I'm originally from Russia, live in New Jersey, USA for over 20 years now. Married with 4 kids: 12, 10, 7, 4 year olds. My job is in New York City, I'm a hospital administrator.
How many times have you started this process: several times. First time about 15 years ago, quite successfully, lost about 40 lbs doing WeightWatchers. Then, got some of it back after a few years and now constantly battling with bringing my BMI to upper limits of norm
I struggle with: For many years I've been waking up for my work at 4 am - I failed morning exercise attempts many times. I just cannot get excited to go for a run at 3 am. I tried it several times but would eventually find myself extremely physically exhausted. Exercise routine is the biggest issue. Also, won't lie - I love to eat...
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): someone who can be my pal and texting buddy. To exchange the day challenges, someone who can be sarcastic, humorous, kick my *kitten* if needed...8 -
Name: Raven
Age: 18
Height: 5'2"
Current Weight: 210 lbs
A little about me: Hello! I am a college student in Virginia. I love to take walks and talk with others. My family is not very supportive of my weight loss journey; however, I am determined to make it in four years. I want to be more, see more, and do more. I am looking for a guide, motivator, and friend.
How many times have you started this process: The last time I tried to lose weight was in 2015-16, where I failed after summer ended (I had continued fights with my family members who are all obese as well). I lost 30 some lbs before the plug was pulled on me, but now that I am older I have much more freedom over my life.
I struggle with: I do not know, because honestly my family was my biggest opposition. I will say it will be hard during breaks when I have to stay with my family (no matter how many times I ask, they refuse to eat clean. They use to refuse to even let me leave the house to exercise). I would also probably go with time management and knowledge. I do not know enough about clean eating and exercise . . . but I am willing to learn more!
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): Someone who possesses a willingness to learn more about health and fitness (and answer my tedious questions) or someone who already has a good deal of knowledge. I want someone who is positive and motivated about their journey like I am. Also, I want someone who is honest, but also kind. I am a very open person and will actively stay in contact in whatever way is asked of me.
I wish all of us a successful and positive journey to our new healthy lives.8 -
Name: Wendy
Age: 46
Height: 5'1'
Current Weight: 137.2
A little about me:
Happily married and have 2 kids--one starts college in August and the other is a rising sophomore in highschool. We have a mutt that is my faithful and walking buddy. I teach high school Spanish. I used to cross stitch. I like cozy mysteries.
How many times have you started this process:
This is my fourth serious attempt. I was with another program, and it worked great, but I just couldn't spend the money without self-imposed guilt. I love that MFP is free. My goal is 130 and not regaining. I would love to see 125. I learned that when I creep up to 140 I develop tiny sore spots in the breast (sorry if TMI), and when I lose the pounds I lose the water cysts. The OBGYN, primary doctor and mammogram folks all agree this is a good plan.
I struggle with:
Consistency. I know what I need to do and should do. It's easy to quit or take a break.
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner):
Honesty, positive thoughts, realistic, gentle nudges in the right direction.
Rooting for us all.

I wrote this whole thing up on my phone an and then it deleted!
I'm getting married in September and had planned on losing weight, but have let the summer get the best of me so far. I have two cats and live in Canada!
I struggle with Laziness and actually completing the goals I've set out for myself. I also find I have no motivation when it comes to crunch time
Looking for a partner with honesty and daily accountability, through messaging on here or text. I think it's easy to lie to yourself, a lot harder when someone else is texting you keeping you accountable.

A little about me: I'm student from Connecticut that attends university in the Chicago area. I like to write poetry, go on wacky adventures in the city, and sing at open mic nights. I'm currently the president of my a cappella group and I hope to try out some new athletic activities this coming fall--like intramural boxing, Chicago roller derby, or krav classes. I'm a big idea person, but often get bogged down with the minutia in execution. When it comes to exercise and eating I'm big on experimenting, but have a hard time committing to a routine longer than a week or two.
How many times have you started this process: I've never specifically gone on a weight-loss journey but I have gone through multiple cycles of trying to hit the gym regularly.
I struggle with: Sticking with exercise routines. What usually happens is that I go to the gym consistently (5-7 days a week) for maybe a couple weeks and then I get bored with it and stop going. In addition, I'm only really successful in the summer--the rest of the year at school, I have to walk approximately 1.5 miles to the gym in what is usually uncomfortably hot (high 70s-90s in September and May) or uncomfortably cold (30s-the negative 10s in Nov-March) weather.
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): Someone who can spice up the weight-loss process as well as keep me on track with my food tracking and exercise! Daily check-ins would be great just to talk about what we've been eating/planning/doing. Not looking for or to be an intense or critical accountability buddy. Just want encouragement and interesting new takes on food and exercise on the journey! That way it's easy to be honest about our successes and short-comings as well as forgiving when we don't quite adhere to a goal. Let's motivate each other to do better!4 -

A little about me: I'm an avid cyclist and love to travel. I work as a budget analyst because I love numbers and data (yeah, I’m one of those). If it can be measured, I want to do it. Conversely, if I can’t measure it, what’s the point?I live in Texas, married and have a sassy, 5yr old daughter who is my entire world! My mid-life crisis is I want to complete an Ironman by my 45th birthday.
How many times have you started this process: For the longest time, I never had to worry about my weight, I had an incredibly high metabolism. All that changed when my wife was pregnant - she lost the baby weight, I didn’tThis is my second try, in 2015 I went from 250 to 220, but gained 20 of it back so I started again this Spring.
I struggle with: I have the Sweet Tooth of Death! I. Must. Eat. Pastries. All of them! That’s my major struggle really, I’m pretty good about eating healthy, I cook most of our family’s meals and stick to the plan until dessert time. If I can get that under control, I think I’ll be fine. I also never really stick to one workout plan because the researcher in me is always looking for the next best plan!
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): Someone who enjoys the tracking/analysis aspect of weight loss and working out, someone who loves cardio, likes to share new recipes and workout routines, and will call me out when I start changing plans on a daily basis.

A little about me - I'm a primary school teacher who lives in England (Bristol). I am engaged and have a beautiful 1 yo daughter. It's because of her that I'm writing this at 2am!
How many times have you started this process
Quite a few! I've done well before but I get too happy with how I look and then start to come off the wagon.
I struggle with
As mentioned, I buy snacks from the shop when I need to get something but that only happens when I'm not logging. Oh and portion sizes including things like biscuits. If I'm not logging, I can eat a packet in a sitting! I do quite well with my fitness as I cycle yo work which is about 50 miles pw so it's just the eating!
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner):
Just someone to check in on me to make sure I've logged. The fear of embarrassment will make me log!7 -
@ciclamino1 I am a Data Quality/Analyst so I understand neat numbers. I have eaten my body weight many times over in pastries as I was in Germany for 12 years....problem is I kept a few too many:-(1

@scottyp65 - Germany is so bad for temptation and beautiful foods...every time I go back to see my parents I put on a ton!1

Name:Kyla
Age:22
Height: 5'4
Current weight:215lbs
Goal weight:190lbs (after that is reached I will set a new goal).
A little about myself:
I own my own business doin in home child care and going to school fulltime! I'm going to school to receive a bachelor's in early childhood education and eventually open my own child care. I am from Texas, where the food is good and years are always hot!
How many times have I started:
I became a member of MOD in 2012 when I was a senior in high school. I was on the dance and swim team and wanted to keep a record of my meals and training. Due to my crazy training schedule I gave up quickly! I've started 3 times since then, this being the third (third time is the charm tho!). I've started 4 days ago and going strong!
My struggles:
I've been on the bigger side due to my love of food. I'm from Texas y'all and grew up eating Mexican food and BBQ on the daily. My biggest struggle is cooking a traditional Mexican meal for my boyfriend and trying to prevent myself from eating 10 tacos! I also struggle with my confidence at the gym. I feel like I'm not always doing my best.
I'm looking for:
A person that will be a workout partner for me. Whether it be in person or through technology. Someone that will be an equal in motivation and training in order to reach goals.4 -

Goal: to leave the 200+ club!
A little about me: I work in office 7a-4p mon-fri and take calls frrom 4a-6a 4 times a week. I'm a staffer/nurse recruiter. Im the eldest of 4 and moved back with my family (California) from Missouri because i couldn't stand being away from them. I've always been on the heavier side but my 2 years in Missouri i joined the 300 + clubat my heaviest I was 310 and the last 3 months i've dropped 30 pounds
came here to find new motivation since what has kept me on track is challenges.
How many times have you started this process: 6 time because others have started it and I decided to join. 1 other time where it came from me. This is my second time that I didn't wait for anyone to start working out. I've tried walking, circuit training, swimming, dancing and the elliptical. Now I have knee and back pain and no longer as flexible as I was.
I struggle with: slipping, once i slip i pretty much say screw it since i already "lost". This current ongoing try i've "lost" 4 times but i got right back on the horse. last week i pretty much slump it the whole week. I kicked myself in the butt and started again on monday. This is where i started going on here to look for a community/partner to make this trip less lonely.
I'm looking for (in an accountability partner): Someone who can be encouraging and talk about the good/bad/ugly of the process of losing weight. A cheerleader when i do well a coach when i slip.5
