Question-- Does anyone use their exercise calories or a portion? Not sure what the general feeling is about this.
First I want to say hi and welcome you to our group. My name is Priscilla. I am looking forward to reading about your successes.
It is totally up to you if you use your exercise calories or not. Some use them, some use only when needed, and some don't at all. I use mine from time to time it is completely legal. I did read on here somewhere that it is good to use at least a portion of them.4 -

Like many summer Saturdays, I had more than 4 hours of exercise activity. Almost 3 hours of horseback riding and 47 minutes of farm chores.
It was one of the most beautiful summer days to be outside. 80 degrees F., with a nice wind, blue sky, prairie grasses moving like ocean waves sparkled with wild flowers.
Calories: Under my limit

@am_change I am a bread addict too. Most days, I fix two sandwiches, so I had to find a wheat bread substitute. I went to the health food store and have been using a whole grain (rice and other grains) gluten free bread. Be careful with gluten free products. They are usually very high on glycemic index and usually higher calorie than really great whole wheat bread. I typically use one slice of bread which costs 90 calories.7 -

Exercised: Yes, 3.5 hours fishing so I was able to stay moving for a good portion of the time. When we returned I was determined to do a workout from FitStar which was 15 min plus the warm-up. If I wouldn't have joined UAC I would of just plopped down on the couch from exhaustion. Thank You UAC
Calories: Yes, I decided to go with 1500 calories on the weekends and 1200 during the week. Simple and no explanation AS TO WHY!!! With that being said.... French toast, mcdonalds and pizza. Sounds like I would have went over but I made all healthy choices8 -
I'm so happy! Thanks to Day #1 of UAC, I DIDN'T have any ice cream and I DID dust off one of my Zumba DVDs and did 21 minutes worth! I'm starting slowly with the exercise because I've let myself get so out of shape, but I plan to increase a little every day!
Calories: Under limit!

Exercised?: Yes. 20 minutes walking the dog.
Calories: Yes! 1595/1600, including a bit more booze than intended. I was a bit worried, as I was at a medieval feast, which was lots of rich foods, and alcohol, but I went very light during the day, and then skipped the boring filler stuff like bread. I didn't want to use a pass on day one!
Tracked: Yes. I'll admit it as a little more approximate/guesswork than some, but I did my best in the circumstances.8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, I cleaned up around the house for about 20 minutes and jumped on the stationary bike for 30 minutes. My brother, who has MS, has returned to exercising, and he started some of these monthly challenges yesterday. I like to do them with him at a distance. We're doing an arms challenge (includes push ups, bicep curls, tricep dips, and punching) and Foundation Light (from darebee's site). I believe I got about 60 minutes of exercise in.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Logged everything, including a couple beers.8 -
Well done for posting everyone!
@2020pinktogo is your internet down? Hope everything is OK.
@RangerRickL thanks,I think rather than gluten free alternatives I'm going to ditch it altogether.
Glad all of Canadians had an amazing day. It made me think though, it seems strange, that the little cottage I live in is older than Canada.
And to anyone who follows Le Tour de France Wowee to big G! (I'm half Welsh so very excited!)5 -

Congrats to last months circle. Welcome to newcomers.
I didn't make the circle. Started the month late and then kind of fizzled, well, got distracted by recreation. But I am in maintenance mode so that is how meticulous I am. I think I lost 15 since the start of the year. I got to pay attention or it will come back. It will especially come back starting in November. That is how I am. I recreate fiendishly in the summertime.
Goal 1)... daily "deliberate" exercise. I get to slouching on that. That don't mean I don't exercise though.
I went up scrabbly road today. Got 2,000 feet. There is an uptick in trail runner traffic on my road. I like that just fine. Said hi. Didn't really talk to anybody. Opposite direction each time I seen them.
I got a pace I call meander. It isn't really aerobic. It might be heart rate of 75% or so.
I got a pace that is even slower than that. I think I will call it lollygagging. Barely moving. Looking at stuff on the ground. Kind of embarrassing to get passed by athletes at that pace. (mountain bikes)
Meandering and lollygagging but hey my climb was only off by 6 minutes. Mr Wizard gave me a lot of calories for the effort but I don't think I will eat them.

I am checking in late for July 1, but I am checking in and I am being accountable. Yesterday was the last day of the family reunion vacation week. I don't like to start the month with a pass day, but it was. So, pass day #1 for me.
I have to come clean and say that I did not eat well yesterday. I did learn some things though. The last few days of the reunion, I found myself eating just because I was in vacation mode and not even because it was great food. I ended up going way over yesterday. I am glad that I did well the first part of the week, and got in lots of exercise. In retrospect, I learned the "cost" of eating food that I didn't love, was not worth the "benefit," and hope that I can remind myself of this in the future. I am relieved to be home for a few days, where I can follow my typical meals.5 -
