Calories?: Yes. I had 25 calories left at the end of the day.

It was another lovely summer day near Chicago. I rode the paint horse in the photo. I bought her 7 years ago. That photo was taken for a Marlboro cigarette ad...really.
Exercise: 112 minutes of active horseback riding, plus 57 minutes of horse related farm activity
Calories: a comfortable margin below limit
Tracking: good
P.S. I am not in the photo.8 -
@RangerRickL Thank you for all your hard work and for continuing a wonderful community. It's been awesome!
Exercise: Yes, 20 minutes of very painful stretching. I wasn't brave (or foolish) enough to walk today, as the thunderstorms were too close for comfort. Ironic considering my handle here concerns lightning, but I've had enough very close calls with the stuff to know not to mess around with it!
Calories: Yes--I even managed to avoid any kind of processed food today, sticking to meats, vegetables, and fruits.
Tracked: Yes.

@RangerRickL - Please let me add my enthusiasm to the voices thanking you for running the group. It is truly life changing. I have done UAC in the past, and joined up again last fall I believe. I had several months that didn't go well, and then I gave up by the end of those months. Rick wouldn't let me give up though! Around the middle of March, I got my act together and have been on track. I met my goal weight, and then my dream goal weight. Now I am trying to figure out how to stay there.
Welcome to the new members! All the positive energy of the continuing and new members is so helpful to keep the journey going!
Yes x 3. I ran over 9 miles on the trails today, and didn't even let the hills slow me down. It was so hot (started late cuz I needed to sleep this am after returning from traveling late last night) that I knew I had to push through and keep going. I was afraid if I stopped that I wouldn't get going again. Haha!
Ok, @pears734, we may be starting a little in the hole with a pass day already so early in the the month (yesterday for me), but that just means we will be vigilant and rock the rest of the month! Right!?
@120maggie - Nice bike ride today. Sounds fun! I wish you the best tomorrow.
@zorrocat- congrats on your PR! Feels great I'm sure. ge
@am_change I am proud of you for not giving into temptation when you were exhausted. That is tough to do, and you did it!!!!

It is great to see everybody do well and I am glad to be here.
@RangerRickL : Thank you so much for keeping this group going.
I have been missing here the last few days. On Friday, one of my relatives happened to say something very demotivating and I was totally dejected. I am an emotional eater and was tempted to give up. So yesterday was kind of bad but I managed to exercise for 30 minutes and stay within my calorie goal. Last night I read all the July 1st check ins and it really helped me. Thank you all Back on track today, not giving up.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Walked 5 miles in 83 minutes (2 minutes faster than my previous best of 85)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Good luck everyone for tomorrow ! Stay strong !

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Thanks to UAC, I made it through the weekend with no problem. Upped my Zumba time to 32 minutes.
Tomorrow I conquer the perils of the goodie-laden work kitchen!
I will be strong!5 -
Unbelievable and super interesting to think the photo @RangerRickL shared today was taken for a Marlboro cigarette ad. I think @RangerRickL is a celebrity. Yay! ☺️
Love the irony too. Smoking versus the healthy habits we are all working on. Thanks for sharing @RangerRickL; good to see one of your horses and you in the saddle. I must admit I have only ridden a horse once and it was pretty scary. Horses are tall!! ☺️

Dismantled our six man tent single handedly (hubby went to get the car, hmm) walked in clumber park for an hour and a half, walked into town and back up the hill.
Under calories by 100, saving up for the baby shower and mums home cooked treats st the weekend!4 -
@amchange great work staying under calories, I have the same problem when tired so can relate
@Slimpossible007 my tips on bike gear changing, change early (as soon as it starts to get too hard or easy) and don't use top on one set with bottom on the other, if you were trying to do that it might be why you had trouble. The other thing that used to give me some problems was not pushing the gear lever far enough on my left hand change, make sure you push the lever as far as it will go when changing up.
@120maggie great ride today. Hope everything goes well for your husband tomorrow
@5cheetahs yoga on the beach sounds awesome

@phoebelayla and @srufus well done getting back on track today.
@catvlmack I grew up in Nottingham and used to go to Clumber Park with my family on a regular basis, beautiful woodland.5 -
@2020pinktogo TY, I have a big comfy seat attachment that I use for my stat bike in the house, so I may well just slip that over the bike seat for extra comfort, My hubby after his try said that there is an issue with the gears so that's why the chain was slipping, I'll speak to them when we return the hire. The lady that was hiring them out couldn't open the lock up that the hire bikes were kept in so she gave us one from the work shop. I think it may need work lol
@120maggie TY .. they really do lol .. and so do the miles3 -

My dads family is from worksop, so I know it well, despite growing up in Norfolk and now living in Lancashire. We were there to scatter my grandads ashes (shh don't tell the national trust) most of that side of the family is there. It's so beautiful. Nottingham is a beautiful city I used to love shopping there when I lived in lincoln.

@srufus I'm an emotional eater too. I noticed a pattern recently when dealing with my husband's ex-wife about their 34 year old special needs son. Nothing is ever good enough for either of them (he has been good and brain washed) and they lay the guilt on so thick you can cut it. It hit me last week as I got off the phone with her and was searching the kitchen that I do that every single time I get off the phone with her or when he visits usnand I've been doing that for 20 years. So I took a deep breath, went into my workout room and worked out instead. And since he is coming for a visit this weekend for 4 days, I am going to be working out hard lol. It is so hard to acknowledge that family can push our buttons and derail us. And they will if we let them, so the key is to not give them that power anymore. Great job on staying on point, exercising and not giving in or up.7

yes x 3
Exercise kind of bare minimal so no great adventure story there.
What do I have to do to stay in control on the 4th?
Exercise, exercise. I will try for a big ride but there will be a lot of motorists out hunting for their picnic spot. Early is the way to go I guess.4 -
@aeshippers TY that's very helpful .. I had no idea that top on one while bottom on the other was a no go .. and I was a bit wary when I was changing gear slowing down to do so .. which looking back was possibly not the best idea ... I also think I wasn't pushing the gears far enough.
I'll have another go this evening and see how I go4 -
Date: 2nd of July

@Slimpossible007 on my bikes I've always had to be pedalling while changing gears. The chain doesn't like it if I try when I'm coasting.2
-
@am_change .. TY, yes I think that may have been one of the issues I was slowing down and wasn't peddling when I tried to change, so they must have gotten stuck and that's why the chain was slipping .. I didn't get another turn this evening, my daughter was off out all day ... and it goes back tomorrow. I'll have a go another time It could also have been a bad bike thou, I don't think they were meant to be hiring the ones from the work shop out.

Im starting again today, after flunking out half way through June.
I have had to alter my goals as the target of staying within cals was a trigger to binge. (My messed up head and eating disorder)
So, my July goals are
1. Exercise daily. Nothing major though, as I can burn out if I push too much. I suffer with dreadfully fatigue, especially in the afternoons.
2. Track what I eat/drink. I need to be aware of binge triggers but not beat myself up if I go over cals.
3. Take my vitamins daily.
Three "yes" today and an added bonus of being within cals.3 -

@scubachick67. Welcome back.
What's essential with the important stuff is that each time fall, we get up and try again.
This (UAC) is hard, but longer term one of the most worthwhile things you can do. It is trying to build good habits. And it's your habits (good or bad) that will build you.
