Do you take any vitamins to supplement your health. I take a multi vitamin designed for women.

I take an assortment of vitamins including a multi but I have health issues that need specific supplements. I take a men's multi because I don't need iron or added calcium in the women's, and the men's has higher levels of essentials than the women's does.

I take a womans multivitamin, a B12 supplement, and calcium. Mostly just because, but I have had low B12 at times so that one I figure is important.

None. On a regular basis. I previously supplemented daily with 100mg of magnesium glycinate for night leg cramps but no longer need it for that purpose. I take it every now and then because I have it.

Whoops I completely forgot two more. I'm taking 300mg of magnesium citrate, because I've been getting muscle cramps in my foot and hoping that will help. And I started taking 150mg of Coenzyme Q10, but I forget why. Something to do with mitochondrial health.

If I were to ever limit myself to one supplement/vitamin source this would be the one based on my understand/experience to date.

Life Extension Mix Capsules are not a cheap option but working to live to be 110 and walking and talking the entire way is not the cheapest way out.

@Steph_Maks you will see I have one link about Q10 but I need to get up more but the long days and outside stuff is taking more of my time right now.

@AlexandraCarlyle - Be careful taking Folic Acid instead of folate. Too much can create tons of problems... I know some have to take this from having that genetic issue, so that might be why you take it - I can't recall if you are the one with that issue.

Also, I think your multi-vitamin has K2 in it, if I remember, from looking it up once? Because if not, you need it desperately to go with that calcium. Calcium will sit about about D3 will help soak it up, but without the K2, they will be lazy and clutter up the arteries rather than go into the muscles and bones where they are needed. Magnesium, potassium (most get enough in food/too much is deadly), boron, and zinc are all important to that process, too....

@GaleHawkins - That one sounds amazing! I wonder how many of my individual ones I could swap out with this one. Going to have to get out a checklist!

EDITED TO ADD: 14 capsules a day??? That's a TON. $60 per month from what I find just in a quick search! Doing that, might be worth investigating the Calton's Nutreince, though I've not looked up that list in some time. Oh, and I wonder what the SOY is for??

I take milk thistle and target mins calcium/magnesium/d3. I used to take handfuls of assorted supplements but I was getting headaches and panic attacks. So I quit.

@KnitOrMiss I will have to check out the soy part. It does get expensive taking the shotgun approach with name brand supplements. Often I only take 7 a day but like the trace stuff in them. When I go heavy on one supplement I may go light or skip some of my regular ones. Last night for example I took a mega dose of Vit D3 testing some research I read yesterday max reported dosage. It was my son with the burn from three days before and he had been on Pycnogenol for it for the two days prior so we just went with 50K IU in his case. We are both at work today. :)

Vitamin D may improve sunburn, according to new clinical trial
Results show high doses of vitamin D reduce swelling, inflammation

I did reread the below before deciding on dosage.

    https://vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/am-i-getting-too-much-vitamin-d/

Very high levels of 25(OH)D can develop if you:

take more than 10,000 IU/day (but not equal to) everyday for 3 months or more. However, vitamin D toxicity is more likely to develop if you take 40,000 IU/day everyday for 3 months or more or if you take more than 300,000 IU in a 24 hour period.

I think I take too many supplements and I've been wondering if they are really helping or not. Here's the ones I know I need because of bloodwork:

    Multivitamin
    Iron
    Calcium
    Vitamin D
    Vitamin B1
    Vtamin B12
    DHEA

Here's the ones I take because I *think* I need them. How do I know if they are actually working?

    MSM (joints)
    Glucosomine/ Condrotin (sp?)
Magnesium (tried it because of restless leg. Doesn't work)
Potasium (tried because of restless leg. Doesn't work)
    Alpha Lipoic Acid (blood sugar)
    CoQ10
    Krill Oil

Does anyone have an opinion on if I should go "cold turkey" or wean off?

@KnitOrMiss I just saw the ad below on FB for doing ketosis out of a bottle. Since I make my own ketones this is $60 a month I do not have to pay for them in a bottle plus I get all of the additional side effects of nutritional ketosis and I can spend it on better supplements. :)

    msm and serrapeptase (carpal tunnel)
    raspberry and dim (perimenopause)
    pychnogenol (general preventative)
topical magnesium and a cell salt blend for improving hydration (nat mur, nat sulph, calc flour, and silicea if I remember right)

@tcunbeliever how do you like taking the serrapeptase? Can you tell it is working?

I ordered some a couple years ago when I started on Wobenzym and did not want to do the two together so I have never tried it yet. I am heavy into Wobenzym for prevention for stroke, heart attack and metastasizing of cancer that some claim for it over the last 60 years it has been on the market. It and MSM were key parts of one cancer protocol that I tested. I now do MSM hit and miss but am religious with the Pycnogenol for several reasons. The son now asks for it from time to time.
