Every month, it's good to share some non-scale-victories about what is happening in your life that you are happy about. It doesn't even have to be anything to do with this challenge.
My NSV this month, is that my dress belt is a little loose. I've stayed at the lower end of my comfort zone for several months. I've been gluten free most days during the last 2 months. That helps me to feel much better.
How about you?

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 7.8 Km in 71 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Longer walk today. Slowed to take some photos.
Rest day yesterday and good amount of sleep (still hard to do). Felt good today though.
70.1kg (154.5 lbs) this morning when weighing (18.9kg (41.7 lbs) down from start weight). Still losing weight (almost as fast as when working on doing so). Have increased daily intake again to try slow this down. It has to level out soon.
My NSV's for this month.
- Increases in strength routine (including daily chin ups on door frame which I could never do before).
- PB's on set walks.
- Looser clothing (taken in another belt notch a week ago - trousers I used to not fit into are now at the point of falling off without a belt to hold them up).
Photos from todays walk. As I said, not many views. Lots of trees. Photos do not well portray the gradients (some are quite challenging).
Start of Chandlers hill
Halfway to top (just when you though it was tough, it gets steeper )
Chandlers hill looking back down path just scaled.
Looking back at entrance to path to One Tree Hill
Path to One Tree Hill
One Tree Hill Kokoda Trail memorials
One Tree Hill picnic area
Path to home (off to the right - more uphill)

@rangerrickL - Sorry to hear you're still not 100%. Hope you feel better soon.
@craigo3154 - Beautiful pics. Wish I was there!
Exercised?: Yes
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
I got very little sleep last night. My oldest dog, Shep, was ill and he had a rough night. According to my fitness tracker I managed 3hrs 21mins of shallow sleep, so I've been kinda running on fumes today! No workouts as I'm just too exhausted.
On a good note my dog seems more like himself today, and enjoyed his walk. I was told to expect these bouts with him as he's an old guy now.
He can still give my younger dog a run for her money!
Walking/Cycling:-
Walk into town this morning, shopped, then walk back home - 60mins.
Took the dogs, 120mins, easy terrain for Shep.
Mowed the lawns.
Total Distance:- 12.7km
Total steps walked today: 17639 (including walk to town)
Total calories burned: 680
Total calories consumed: 1375/ 1320
@cardio_enthusiast - I'm exhausted just hearing about your workouts hun. You sure live up to your username!
@LoraineGB - Love the pics, especially the family of raccoons!
@Simonschange - Loved your story of the Coyote! I would probably think it was a dog too.
I get greeted by lots of doggie friends while walking/jogging!
@am_change - Chocolate buttons are my arch enemy! I so over indulge on these if I'm given any! They are my truly my kryptonite!
@Shonat11 - Glad you're staying with us hun.
@aeshippers - Wow, that's some street! You could have always have gone for a swim instead.
Hope everyone has had a good day today....xx7 -
And to add to my post above....
NSV:-
Since signing up on the 20th June, logging in and tracking calories, I've lost a total of 15lbs (1.7 stone)! I hadn't even noticed this until today.
I don't think I would have lost this much if I hadn't joined all of you in the UAC last month and keeping me accountable this month too has really helped me stay on track and to really focus on my goals.
Reading all your daily posts, your progress, setbacks and triumphs has truly been an inspiration to me. I may not comment on all your posts, but I want you all to know how much I appreciate being here and how amazing all of you are!
...........xx
The MFP has now upped my calorie intake to 1790 losing 1lb a week or 1540 losing 1.5 lbs a week That seems an awful lot! I'm happy to stay within the 1300's as it's giving me more freedom to plan my meals and more flexibility in what I eat without worrying! And I feel better for it too, not to mention I can throw in the odd treat! I rarely get up to 1500 anyway.

Question for the tribe: I am going back to Crossfit today but I have a hard time figuring out how to log it. (MFP realllly has to update their exercises!) The class is an hour, 10 min warm up, then work on a lifting skill then a 20-25 min high intensity workout then cool down. lfiting and body weight and cardio all mixed together. By the time I'm done I'm pouring sweat! Anyway, how should I log this? Aerobics? Any suggestions would be cool. Thank you!3

If an exercise doesn't come up in the search hun, I create my own.
You can put in your own exercise in the database if it doesn't exist.
Just click on exercise, my exercises then create exercise and adjust it to meet your requirements.
I've added a 40min HIIT (HASfit) workout, which I do using weights, calculated to my current weight.
I hope this helps a little....x

Good morning everyone! When considering our NSV's consider this!
Hope everyone has a good day! I am off to the pool. It is a beautiful day here with no smoke so far so I am going to go to the outdoor one today. I will check back later with all my positive results and to read about everyone else's HUGS everyone!

Is there an intense aerobics? Sounds a little more strenuous then a normal aerobics. Hopefully you can figure out. What @trixsey1 said sounds good also. I never did this as I did not know it calculated for you for your weight I thought we had to input everything and I had no idea how to do that...lol4 -
Yes x3 today. A good walk this morning and a fun bike ride this afternoon.
MFP still says I haven't lost any weight as I actually put on a fair bit after joining. I was unable to exercise post op. That extra weight is just beginning to come off now so hopefully I'll see progress soon.
@trixsey1 , well done for your loss. That's great !
@RangerRickL , hope you're better soon
@craigo3154 , looks like a lovely place!
@everyone, hope you're all having (or have had) a good healthy day :-)4 -
@trixsey1 I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight and your dog continues to improve. It's awful when pets are ill.
@shonat11 yay more cycling! Glad you're enjoying it. Don't let the weight loss not showing up discourage you. Maybe change your start weight in your settings to your highest weight after joining if that will help?
Exercise: walking and an hour's zumba class at the gym just now. Sweaty Betty as I write this!
Tracking:yes
Calories: yes
NSV: well this first one is slightly scale related I suppose, I saw my parents today who've been on holiday for a few weeks and my mum looked at me and asked how much weight I'd lost in that time.
Bought some tops in a smaller size this week.
But probably my best NSV for the month is that I was sent some photos of last weekend's party and I didn't hate ALL of the ones I was in.
Keep going everyone! Thanks for all of your support, encouragement and camaraderie!5 -
NSV: I am down one size. Shopping is getting to be fun again.
@craigo3154 Good to see where you like to walk. Some very challenging steep hills. Congrats on your NSV.
@RangerRickL Congrats on your incredible consistency with being gluten free and staying within a particular zone. Great NSV.4 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Got over 11miles in today followed by some bodyweight training
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
(80.62 / 140) Mile Goal
Was a pretty calm day certainly a good one
NSV - Shirt / Pant size has went from XL to Upper Medium and 38/32 to a 30/29 overall it's amazing as I had to bag up majority of my clothing around 95% of it. I'll probably sort it and donate it.5 -

@conchita962. Log it as "CrossFit" (case is important) put in your weight and the number of minutes. "CrossFit" is in the database.
Alternatively you could make a single custom activity "Crossfit" and log that. You would need to guess at the calorie burn. Use calories burned for run intensity in same timeframe as a guide.
No need to be precise on estimated calorie burn. +/- 50% would be fine. Consumed and expended calories "outside the lab" is not an exact science, more artful guesswork (but it's the best rough guide we have).
Once logged once, it will come up in quick selections. On the web you can copy from day to day when required.3 -
I have a couple of NSVs.
1. My foot and knees are no longer hurting as much! I think that the clean eating has decreased my body's inflammatory response.
2. I am getting good at estimating the serving sizes of my food! It's amazing how off I was with my guesses. I am really happy about this NSV!6 -
Hello everyone! 3 yeses for today and yesterday. I must admit that I read through each post last night and intended to make a post of my own, but found myself unable to keep my eyes open in order to finish this. Needless to say, I hit the sack.
I had a great NSV tonight at my Total Wellness class. 8-weeks ago I started the class and had my cholesterol checked. The numbers were borderline high, but after 10+ lbs lost and healthy eating and an increase of fitness, those numbers are much better today! And, I'm going to keep improving!! I feel good...in body and mind.7 -
Exercise? Yes; 55 minutes of strength training and a 2.3 mile run
Calories? Yes
Tracking? Yes
Awesome NSVs everyone! Hearing about all of your successes is one of my favorite parts of this group. You are all inspirational!
A few of you mentioned this already, but as the days are getting shorter and colder, I am seeking some warmer clothes and finding that many are too large on me. On the bright side, it is a good excuse to go shopping5 -

It was a beautiful morning for a bike ride. I did hill repetitions for 75 minutes.
Full disclosure, here: cycling is NOT my cardio of choice AND hills make me want to WEEP. Today, I managed 400 metres of total climb--not earth shattering, but a good achievement for me!
Cycling is a great workout for days when I need something low impact and just to change things up . I also wore my beloved ankle weights at work, and did 7500 steps. I'm so happy that I'm getting lean, again. I can't wait to measure myself, this weekend.
I had yes for exercise, calories, and tracking.
I've really enjoyed reading everyone's NSVs. You are all so inspiring!4 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES -- outdoor walk in a sunflower field "(sunflower days)"
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES
I am so glad I was yesx3 today! If it weren't for my exercise calories from walking, I would have failed. Whew!!!5 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes..30 minutes, Week #3 day 2 of c25k training and 60 minute walk.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Registered for a Beginner Trail Running workshop starting Sept. 3rd. Since I recently decided to start running again, I think this will really benefit me. Let the fun begin!!5 -
@conchita962 If you wear a heart monitor you can calculate your calories burned and minutes of activity. You can create your own exercise calorie/minute that fits your usual activity level.4

Yes x3. 45 minute walk. My NSV revolves around my attitude towards working out. I used to feel like I needed a high intensity, sweaty workout with a big calorie burn for it to really count as a workout. And I kept that up for awhile! Lost weight and was in great shape. But in reality it's not sustainable (especially in this season of busyness with 3 little kids!) and with an all or nothing attitude, I burnt out and chose nothing. I love the habit this group has helped me form of 20 minutes of activity a day from myself. Totally achievable! And such a victory to feel like my walk this morning was enough. I moved my body and I enjoyed myself. My health is important but I don't want it to become an obsession like it has in the past.5
-
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. Another day under 100 degrees so I'm taking advantage, it goes back up to 104 tomorrow.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes. When my food is where it should be, it's one less thing to worry about
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
NSV: New work trousers in a size 10, plus I had rewards and coupons so they only cost $8.956 -
Thanks for all of your well wishes. I am better. My asthma is in a small flareup. I have to manage it very carefully to avoid big problems. My nebulizer and albuterol are my companions at least twice a day. It takes me awhile to recover from a flareup.
Calories: really good today
Tracking: ok
Exercise: out with the veterinarian as one of my horses developed an anaerobic infection in her hoof. A bit of surgery is now scheduled for Friday. Lots of outdoor activity today.3 -

30 min Beach walk and Strength exercise, I skipped on the Yoga, probably because I knew I would not be doing Yoga over the weekend so the chain was breaking anyway.. A weakness but I will forgive myself.
About to go to bushcraft meetup in an hour or so, should be able to update but I have mild form of Nomophobia when my battery level falls below 98% without a charge point in close proximity so I may go dark.
@cardio_enthusiast "I did hill repetitions for 75 minutes." Respect. And well done on NSV.
@pcotter54 This is the best type of NSV in my view.
@loopydo2017 Wise words, I think I am a little obsessed right now, and I've got to watch that.3 -

Exercise-yes, #125 for Ab Challenge. Started adding a 25 pound plate to my crunches--not all 125, but some. Strong Curves lifts (able to add more weight to Dead Lifts today) and my bench press was spectacular with all very strong, clean reps. Also had nothing better to do tonight (home alone) so I went for a 3.3 mile walk with my Audible book. Very nice!
Tracking-all on track
Calories-under
Tomorrow will be interesting because I have to go to an event at a restaurant that has no nutritional info on their menu. It's pub food--aaaaaaagh!!! I've checked out the menu and have a couple ideas. Going to depend on how hard I exercise before dinner time.3 -
exercise yes walking in pool, light gardening, housework and food prep
calories yes 1318/1490
calories burned 734
tracking yes
water 13 glasses
Well here we are in the middle of August!
The NSV that I am most proud of is that I did not lose my focus at any time during my surgery and recovery. I was so worried about gaining weight when I was recovering due to not being able to do much. I was determined to not let this happen and I succeeded. My doctors told me they were amazed at my eagerness to exercise. I am now walking 2K's on land and 60 minutes in the pool. I will be off work for at least another couple of months but I will be lighter and fitter when I do.............woohoo....yay me!
I really enjoyed reading everyone's NSV's. We have come a long way..........Congratulations everyone, and thank you for sharing your stories.
Good night everyone!
