So I am down 5.5 lbs in the last 10 days on Keto, during this time I reached my initial goal weight that I set for myself in January of this year, I was having difficulty loosing, as my weight had stalled, so I thought I'd give Keto a try!

So the last half did not post. Ugh. Anyway after putting in my info it now states I should be at 1140 cal, I had been eating around 1450, I am concerned about staying within my cal goal. I know I wil have to adjust here and there- but this is all new to me.

You must have entered something differently than before.
If you’re losing at 1450 there’s no need to change it. And if you’re less hungry some days, there’s no need to force feed yourself either.

If you were losing at 1450 and content eating that amount, I see no reason for dropping your intake to 1140 just because MFP gives that amount. Continue with it and see what happens. MFP (like all calculators) is just an estimate based on averages. If you don't continue to lose, drop it back a bit but keep in mind you most likely won't lose as rapidly as you did the first 10 days.

I'm surprised it dropped you below 1200. A few years ago it wouldn't go below 1200. I've not changed my calories for over 3 years (maintenance). Congrats on the 5.5 loss!

It was actually the keto calculator not MFP

Just remember it’s just an estimate. If you are hungry enough to eat 1450 a day and can lose weight at that level there’s no need to go lower. You’ll get different numbers from all of them. Even with the exact same inputs.
I honestly prefer the ketogains macro calculator myself.

OK. That makes more sense. I play around with those but have always used MFP. I have no idea what my LBM (lean body mass) is and most ask for a %/number. I figure why guess. A BMR calculator will tell me I'm 22.6% body fat but I look in the mirror and see differently. LOL...like higher than 22.6.

The lower the LBM you enter, the higher they'll have your calories under the premise that you have more muscle and less fat. If you don't enter a % for LBM the calculator applies a logical percentage probably based on a standard bmr calculation...it seems.

They're just a guestimate also but they're fun to play with and are a start.

Lol. I didn't see you were already getting your question answered. At least we're in agreement. :)

In calculations that use LBM I always put my goal number...that way I don't have as much shifting around as I get close to goal...not sure if that would work as well for someone who had a significant amount to lose.

I agree with the others. If you feel satiated and are still losing, I wouldn't change a thing. :)

I did a similar thing. I ate 100 kcal more than I was "supposed to" according to calculators. The weird thing was that I ate more and still lost weight faster than the calculators predicted. Do whatever is working. ;)

As a correction to my post above, I meant BMI (body mass index) versus BMR (basal metabolic rate)...just in case my error is confusing someone.

My rate of loss was slower than projected by MFP but I will easily explain that one by considering I was one of those folks to which "you are eating more than you think" applies. I didn't weigh or measure foods much during weight loss. My average loss was "enough" and it was consistent so I was happy. I also know now that the "activity calorie burn" is way off for most things too but the same applies...so long as I was losing, I just kept doing what I was doing until done.

I weighed and measured food consistently only when I trialed keto for a year in maintenance.

The only reason I ever started playing around with any calculator other than MFP was in hopes they would provide more than MFPs 1520 maintenance calories. On average, they didn't. :( I sooo wanted MFP to be wrong on that point. LOL.
