I remember last year where I basically said from Christmas Eve till Boxing Day I was going to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, and when the smoke cleared, I had only gained a pound. That being said, I'm not a drinker so someone who is might struggle more than me in that arena.

It's the last push before the holidays because as much as we want to look super svelte, Christmas does do really good food.

Welcome @estrellasycafe and @vargasliz99. Scales - just get a digital one off Amazon or similar. Shouldn't cost much more than $20-$30 for a decent one.

Hey Girls! I felt this group might be a better fit than the Biggest Loser Challenge. This month will be a challenge with temptation everywhere but I am all in. X

This last year I have ballooned up on some medication I was taking. Now that it is balanced out, I want to get that weight back off. Here goes nothing... and probably the worst month to start.

Since I'm now getting into a weight range where I'll see muscles popping up more quickly and am starting to feel fit again, starting on daily workouts is easier than before! I'm excited about this month. 137 lbs is a weight I feel pretty good at. In the past it did come with a bit of a wall that was hard to budge, but that's a concern for January :)

So close to your goal @GoldenEye_!

@KhaosF If you can exercise some control in this month then you will be fine from here on in. Even if this month you maintain at 160 despite all the temptations of Christmas food and drink that will be a triumph. It is hard, especially now. By being realistic about the challenge ahead and being kind to yourself it will be easier.

November was not a good month for me, I just kept gaining. I don't even have the excuse of Thanksgiving as I like in the UK. Just too many social events and the cold weather meaning I let my exercise routine slip a bit. I've reversed the trend though and am hoping to make a concerted effort to get a few pounds off before Christmas. As before, I will weigh in on Sundays and use trend weight.

    Can’t believe it’s already December!

    Height: 5'3”
    HW: 127
    SW December: 111.2 (110.4 trending)
Ultimate goal: initially my goal weight was 110. I hit that, and I’m in maintenance now, so my goal range is 108-113. Really at this point, my goals are switching over to more fitness-related.

I’m still figuring out this whole maintenance thing, so my weight is fluctuating a bit. Actually, I’m finding it hard to get all my calories in some days! I also haven’t been good about working out. I am supposed to be doing recomp now, which means I NEED to commit to working out more.
  • Hi everyone, I'm happy to be back for December. I will be using my trending weight, as I think it more accurately describes my progress. I'm choosing some slightly random weigh-in days, knowing I have some travel plans at the end of the month! I'll be staying with family for several days around Christmas, and then a week long vacation in San Francisco starting on Dec 29! I'm hoping to hit my goal before Christmas, and then just not do too much damage over the holidays. But honestly, I'm going to eat and not worry while on vacation.

Happy December ladies! For this month, I'm going to post my moving average only, not my scale weight. I set a more moderate goal for December but I still want to try to keep on track.

This last week has been pretty bad for me. I was pretty overwhelmed at work and life and had a couple days lying on the couch eating and watching Netflix. I'm over it now though and ready to face the next month!

My husband and I were in a pretty good routine for the last couple months, but his employment changed and it's kind of thrown everything off. This month we're going to work on developing a cooking/eating plan that's more sustainable for our current schedule. It is Christmas season though, so we're trying not to get too carried away with planning. This is the time of lots of social eating so we'll try to find a good balance.

Good luck with the holidays everyone! I hope we all still manage to enjoy everything that's great about this time of year while keeping our goals in mind. We'll work on it together!

I’m still only aiming for a conservative loss this month 60.5kg would be great :)

I've been in this terrible cycle of using MFP, losing weight quickly, feeling like I don't actually need MFP, and then I stop tracking and gain all the weight back plus some. Trying to actually stick with it this time. I was traveling a lot for a few Thanksgivings in November, but December should actually be easy for me. Just moved to the other side of the country, and I'm also Jewish, so no Christmas events to avoid. Except 2 office holiday parties this week. Trying to keep those in check.

After I graduated from grad school, I got caught up in my new career and essentially stopped making time to go to the gym and work out. I loved working out and always used it as an escape from work and school and any other struggles (best weight was 153 lb). I realized I needed to get back on track once my favorite jeans wouldn't fit right anymore. This is my first group I'm joining, and I'm excited to have some motivation to push me through!

Christ on a bike, I have some serious water weight from the work trip. I was good over the weekend, but I had more alcohol and salty food than normal on my work trip. Mind you, when in Belgium it would be rude not to have some local beer. It'll drop off again.

Hello everyone! New to MFP and this group. I am at 155, same weight I was 13 years ago at age 32! Some flab around my stomach. Obviously, as the group name implies, looking to tone up and get strong. Please, feel free to add me, look forward to reading group encouragement!
