I've been traveling and so haven't had my regular scale and I'm a bit touchy about using a different scale.... I swear they all weigh differently. So... when I get home I'll weigh in the morning and see how a weekend of full-blown non-Keto Mexican food affected me.... There is no resisting it when you go "home" to visit and never get it any other place. lol

Well, I've completely fallen off the wagon!
I started out thinking, this December, I'd lose close to the same amount as my success in November (10lbs). Then I reevaluated how challenging December would be because of my birthday and holiday parties. So I figured if I just maintain and not gain, I'd be content with that. I was so off from my eating plan that I didn't weigh myself till today. The scale was not as bad as I feared and something I CAN get a handle on, but disappointing nonetheless.
Birthday dinners and lunches, people dropping off homemade toffee and bottles of prosecco (my fav) and party food, omg the endless party food! Then there's the booze. I'm not a "drinker" by any means, but I have been consuming 2-3 drinks a week at these social gatherings. A dirty gin martini is supposed to be low-carb, but I think they add up calorically.
All this dietary challenge and I haven't seen the inside of my gym for weeks. I'm 17 days post-op from minor spinal surgery (more like a procedure, but they call it surgery). Today is my post-op appointment with my doctor and I'm sure I'll get cleared to resume pool workouts.
I'm finding it difficult to think about going back into ketosis, and possibly experience keto flu, only to blow it again this weekend, at our Italian Christmas Eve dinner (practically every carb known to man on the menu) and our carb-laden brunch on Christmas morning!
Maybe it's a better idea to just ease up on the keto until after Christmas (or New Year's???) and just be mindful of the type and amount of food I put into my body.
I don't usually have a problem with discipline, following macros and I really like the foods on keto, but this is an unusually food-heavy and liquored-up December.
If you've read to this part of my rant, I thank you for "listening". I didn't expect this month to be this challenging; I could really use some guidance! Any thoughts on how you handle a month of food and exercise challenges/setbacks would be so helpful!

    12/10: 158.9
    12/18: 162
    12/24
    12/31

Goals for this month: be as CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to goal weight for my first wedding dress fitting on Dec 26th.

DAMMIT! Pretty disappointed that I fluctuated back up in weight again. I couldn’t weigh in yesterday because I was traveling this weekend and visiting family. I was definitely maxing out on carb intake... but I hoped that wouldn’t stop the weight loss. I’ll have to be better this week! The dress fitting is getting so close! I also wonder if I wasn’t drinking enough water...

Hey but that's still down from the beginning of the month and almost 10 from October so well done in my book with Thanksgiving and traveling. Keep on in there and we'll all survive the Christmas and New Year period together and then show 2018 what we are made off!! <3 Ps Thanks, it's a relief!

I took this week, beat it down and OWNED IT!! All that water weight...GONE! I did move my meal times around a bit. Eating earlier worked better. I also think I really need to pay attention to getting more protein every day.

Goals this week: Well thought out meals that include more protein, consistent exercise, have fun at all the festivities and ONEDERLAND!!!
