Brrrrr.....-35 to -45 is just down right deep freeze. My toes got cold today filling my bird feeders. I just got a 2 hr delay for tomorrow because of windchills. My poor old girl is struggling to do her business in these temps since she is not too mobile. I had to practically carry her back in when she got me out of bed at 5:30. My entire break was spent inside for the most part. Thank goodness for the x bike. How many days till spring?

@kar: Good deal on the shoes. Love getting a bargain. When I find a running shoe like this years Brook Ghosts, I have learned to buy several pairs.
And for those of us dealing with the artic blast and for those who just want a laugh...a little weather humor to help ease the pain. Please forgive me if I offend anyone.

Loved tha cartoons @clepant. Just had a huge conversation with OH trying to make sense of the temperatures you’re talking about. We came of the F scale decades ago, so converting it .... Is the temperature -40, or is it 40 below freezing. Still pretty D**n cold

@KAR328 - Always great to find your fave shoes on sale! And even better you bought two pair! I've always tried to follow the advice I read a long time ago in Runner's World magazine to buy two pair and alternate wearing them each workout. Don't wear them for anything else but your workouts, especially not all day, and they will recover (the insole cushioning will decompress) and last longer. Two pair will last as long as three pair bought and worn end-to-end. It sure seems to work in my case anyway. Try it and see what you think.
@CLEPANT - Thanks for the cartoons! It is pretty cold here too. Woke up to -11F/-24C here this morning, but it's now a balmy 3F/-16C. Almost t-shirt weather here again!
Glad to see so many folk back here the start of this new year! If you know of anyone else that might be interested in joining us, put in a good word! Or if you know of someone that used to be with us and have slipped away, maybe gently try to nudge them back.

I remember doing this challenge years ago (maybe 2013 or 2014). I was really into it back then and loved checking out the stat spreadsheet.

@k80flec: Yea, us Americans just refuse to change. Stubborn bunch we are. Either way it is mighty cold here. Now believed to be the coldest winter on record and it has just started with months to go.
Jan.2:I survived bus duty this morning, I have been out in colder weather. I would rate it 7.5 out of 10.
Adding 9 today. I actually got some walking miles back in now that I am back at work.

I am going for 70 miles this month.
Dave, i am away for 3 weeks from next week until 3rd February. I will may not have internet access so will not be able to record my miles until 3rd February. Will this be too late? I don't want to lose my weeks0
