Female, 28, trying to lose about 20 lbs !
Day 2 of keto2 -
Hi,
I am old... soon to turn 49
I have always been ( going to use a "F" word here)... are you ready .. I have always been FAT! I hate this word! I have struggled with weight my entire life.. tried all the diets.. cabbage soup, weight watchers, slim fast.. the list goes on.. I was the Fat kid who continually was pulling my size xl large shirt away from my belly.. thinking no one would notice.. the one who would always wear a T-shirt over my swim suit.
I am 5'2".. my highest weight was 223 years ago. I found the ketogenic menu a year ago this past March.. when I was researching Cancer ( the " C" word) I hate! I found that some cancer cells require sugar to grow. I have watch too many of my loved ones lose this battle so I decided that if I have those cells in my body I was not feeding them!
March 2017 I weighed 199 today I weigh 155. I am so thankful I finally found a menu that works for me. I have crohn's and this menu helps keep my " Flare ups" down. I feel awesome and for the first time in my life my blood work is Normal!
Sorrry for the long post but I wanted to share so... when you hear Keto haters and read negative things... just remember it may not work for everyone! It works for me... I hope it works for you!
Good luck everyone!
Stay Keto strong!

Hello all
I turned 30 this year and while I'm not quite at my heaviest, I'm close enough. I managed to lose around 90 lbs from 2016-2017 and then gained most of it back. I was really reluctant to try keto when I learned about it because "fat=bad" and "you shouldn't be so restrictive!". I was formally diagnosed with BED this year after dealing with it for many years and I attended DBT group therapy for a while but stopped when I found it wasn't really working for me. One thing that stuck with me from that experience was how to treat addictions. I've tried moderation and it never worked because I would get the taste for crap food and my brain would tell me I need more until I was completely out of control. The key for me thus far has been "carb sobriety". I've been doing keto for a month now and find it to be fairly effective in controlling my disordered eating urges. The first 2 weeks were rough with all the cravings but they've decreased significantly, thankfully.
Anyway, I'm always open for new friends! KCKO!1 -

Thanks for sharing that! I agree completely. Moderation works for some people, but not for others. I like your term "carb sobriety". I'm borrowing it!
