@fatoldladyonamission that is FABULOUS!!! It’s funny, I used to spend so much time searching for a close parking spot... now (unless it’s pouring rain) I welcome the extra steps and park in the back.1
-
@Mellykay88 that’s exactly what I want to be doing in future lol. Certainly helped me Well and truly beat my 10k steps today! Almost 12k! I will get there!2

I keep meaning to park further away from the office. I work on a huge campus and could easily walk half a mile or more to the office (each way!) if I chose my car park. The problem is I am NOT a morning person and can't seem to drag myself in early enough to do so!
Very impressed by you guys though! Well done!

@ gin_rummy
Oh I am NOT a morning person either lol Its a good thing I have a flexible work schedule because I almost always run anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes late in the mornings because I just can't drag myself out of bed My alarm is usually set for 30-45 minutes early in the morning, but when it actually comes time to get up, my willpower tanks. I know what time I actually HAVE to be up by, so that snooze button gets slapped at least twice.....
My alarm is set for 5:15 AM; I'm usually finally crawling out of bed between 5:30 and 5:45. I know I'll never be one of those folks who get up early in the morning to work out before work - there is no way I'd ever be able to constantly drag myself out at 4 AM every day!
I wish I could stay in bed to at least 7 AM and go into work between 8 and 9, but that's just not an option where I work. Most everyone else I work with starts at 6:30! And I wouldn't want to be stuck at work until 5:30-6 pm, either......0 -
I’ve converted to morning person status this year because I enjoy going to the gym and the ONLY way I will go consistently is to go at 5:00 am. It wasn’t easy at first, but it works for me. I think that whatever plan works for you is the plan that will work.
My NSV today is that I jogged for a total of 12 minutes on the treadmill this morning! Broken into 6, 2 minutes intervals.6 -
Finally had my first NSV!!!! I put on a shirt I haven't worn in at least a year and it fits. It's even a little baggy! This is a huge deal for me because I've lost 26 pounds since I started on January 6th but you can't tell at all by looking at me. I've been super bummed the past few days because I weigh every day and the scale didn't move from 389 for four days in a row last week. This morning I was finally 388 and finally I have visible progress, not just numbers on the scale! I can't believe I'm really doing it this time!6

@kwiris0328 Congratulations! That's an awesome feeling, isn't it?!1
-
Congratulations @kwiris0328 ! It’s such a great feeling when you start seeing the results of hard work! It’s motivation to keep on pushing.
I had a pretty bad food day yesterday... stayed under maintenance, but over my calorie goal by about 500 calories. It was a good feeling when I opened the app this morning and saw the count back at zero... each day is a fresh start.0 -
@Mellykay88 That was my yesterday too I just couldn't resist that second piece of pie after church last night! Yep, it slid me over by about 500 calories, too, and that was after having pretty much the same experience on Saturday.
I DID get a 20 minute walk in yesterday, though, so I won that battle, and while I over-ate on Saturday, I also carried 20 bags of pellets from the truck to my porch and vaccuumed and mopped my entire house and also spent well over an hour on my feet in my kitchen prepping for Sunday's dinner, so I also had some exercise calories in there to help somewhat. My house is 24 ft by about 60 ft and every room has linoleum flooring and I mopped the old fashioned way with an old fashioned mop and bucket!
On the flip side: this weekend, I bought me 2 new pair of pants - both in size 20W! Now the 1st pair was marked as curvy and were purposely made to be roomier, and the second pair was a new line being carried at Walmart called something like terra sky but which I noticed definitely fit bigger - what they called a 20W, I'd call a 22-24W in how they fit me.
BUT I tried on a pair of size 20W bluejeans and were able to get them on and buttoned! They were still too tight to be comfortable but the size 22Ws were there, which means I am completely and fully into a size 22W now - blue jeans in my experience are always the last thing I get into in a particular size, and dress pants are usually the 1st. This time last year, I was happy to be flirting with getting into a 26W, and this time 2016, I was in a 30W!1 -
Awesome victories ladies. You inspire me to keep going and hopefully see my NSV SOON!2
-
This is totally a scale victory, BUT my BMI has dropped 20 points since I started! Today I finally crossed into the 40’s. looong way to go to get to the 20’s, but every day I’m closer!4

You're also getting close to having lost 30% of your starting weight. That's amazing.3 -
@alevans4 you are right! That is hard to wrap my head around!1

My NSV is bittersweet. I can officially no longer wear my wedding ring. ☹️. It has fallen off twice. I’m getting smaller but not small enough to get it sized yet. Will have to go in the safe for now.2
-
@cnavarro002 I have a similar one. A ring my grandmother gave me when I was a teenager is now too big. I’m waiting until I get to goal to get all of my rings sized, so I don’t have to risk multiple resizes.0

Oh no! How about until you are able to resize it, you wear it on a chain around your neck? That way at least you’ll always have it with you!1 -
That’s a good idea. I LOVE my ring and i hate not having it.0

Today I had a non scale victory. I go to pound class every week,but my preferred exercise is in the pool. In any case, I had a huge abdominal surgery a year ago and find some of the ab workouts hard during pound class. Due to the lack of a strong core, my hips hurt during those ab workouts and I often need to stop and rest during the song. Today...for the first time..I was able to finish all the songs without a break! That felt awesome!!3

@JJKM02 That's great, way to go!!!0

After finding this thread I now know what nsv stand for. I have a few that I can think of. When I started this journey I tried to do squats, and planks. I couldn’t even do 5 squats or a 10 second plank. I have worked my way up to 30 squats, and then I do one additional squat and hold in the squat position for 30 seconds. I can hold a plank now for over a minute. I have had to ad three new holes to my belt. The last hole I added was 3.5 inches from the previous. I can now bend over and touch my toes without having to bend my knees. I know there are more that I can’t think of right now.3

@jjohn0129 you are doing great!0

Last weekend I did two things I have never done before. Saturday I went to an aqua Zumba class and I loved it! Sunday I went to an actual Zumba class with the expectation that I wouldn’t get through it but told myself I would hang on as long as I could. Well I made it through the entire hour and 15 min and I was so proud of myself!!5
-
@jjohn0129 & @meldwel great job to you both! These are the things that keep us going.1

This week has been temptation city for me, and I am so proud of handeling it. My husband and I share a birthday plus we have a big Easter dinner every year, and I stayed within my calorie goals and was even able to have cake at the celebrations. I mean I felt like an addict in a crackhouse, especially last night when I was stuffing eggs with those Mini Cadbury eggs and didn't have enough calories for one and had PMS, but I resisted.
Plus my bff got me Jessica Smith's Walk On Walk off the weight in 30 days DVD and I did day one today. I'm telling myself I can do this DVD because it's "only" 29 more days. Short term, numbered exercise goals may be the key for me?3 -
Had Easter with family and friends, some of which we don't see very often. One of our friends, yelled out "Cindy are you losing weight?!?" in front of everyone. Caught off guard and not wanting to admit it, I quickly responded with "Nope" even though I'm down 40 lbs. My cute hubby @cwrisbeck quickly yelled out "Yes she is!!" with a proud grin on his face. Great NSV when others finally start to notice!3

Wow - everyone is doing such great work!!!
I got into the next size down jeans and wore them out in public. Of course the yoga pants went on again as soon as I got home. I'm so used to non-binding clothes (yoga pants) that jeans dont' feel really comfortable, but I'll get there.

@MzCara148 Congrats! Woo hoo! I know exactly what you mean though. I’m still trying to get used to jeans. I’ve worn nothing but elastic waistband and yoga type pants for several years now.1

I had a few more over the weekend. A friend bought me a couple of shirts and a pair of short. Because he said my clothes were swallowing me. I was wearing a 5xl shirt. He brought me 2xl shirts and they fit. They were a little on the snug side but not too bad. I was wearing a size 48 pants. The shorts he brought were 42, and they fit perfectly. I was also able to not indulge in any of the Easter candy my kids got. I also managed to work out in my yard putting up a new fence on Saturday. It was pretty warm here in Texas, and not a cloud in the sky. So the sun was miserable. But I worked from 7:30 in the morning until dark. With only a couple of breaks for trips to the hardware store and a lunch break. Before I would do good to make it 30 minutes to an hour then have to take an hour break to recover. On the scale side as of Friday I had lost 3 more pounds for the week. I don’t usually weigh until Sunday’s, but I knew I would be able to do it Sunday. I went to my in laws for the first time in two months so before I started my journey. They were all amazed at my changes. It was nice to have somebody make that big of a deal over what I have accomplished so far.5

Non scale victories lately have been that I haven’t been feeling bloated, my feet which swell when I get too much salt have not been swollen at all, and my skin has cleared up and there is absolutely no acne (which no 36 year old woman wants to sport!)4
