Hi and welcome to the Spring 2018 RenewU Challenge. This challenge will run from April 2 to June 24, 2018
Yesterday was Easter Sunday, a day for chocolate bunnies, flavorless jelly beans and a sugar rush like no other! On the Christian calendar, Easter actually runs until the Feast of the Ascension (this year May 10) or LONG after the candy (hopefully) has run out. So if there is still tempting candy unconsumed in your house, give it a chuck or have your family hide it because today is your day!
Today, of course, is the first day of our resolution to work toward healthier bodies, through diet, exercise and friendship on this board. Have a great week!

Day 1
Start weight: 187.2
Challenge Start Weight: 175.6
Challenge Goal Weight: 163
Comments: I went completely crazy with food yesterday. Cider-baked ham, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs! Started the day with sweet cream roll and never looked back. The only things I didn't eat were the Peeps! But I'm paying for it today. My fingers look like sausages and I'm up a pound and a half.
On the bright side, this is exactly the kind of feeling that motivates me to jump start my diet and get moving. Today will be a big salad and lots of water day!
Last session I think I was too ambitious with my goal. I thought I could easily lose 20 pounds in 3 months like back when I was in my 30's. This time, my goal is a sensible 1 pound per week, which will have me losing 12 pounds over the challenge. The extra .6 is because today's weight has to be about 90% salt.
Have a wonderful week and lets all meet our goals!6 -

Comments: I also went a tad overboard this weekend (mmmm, pecan pie!) and the scale was up almost 2 lbs this morning. I'm largely attributing that to water weight that will hopefully disappear once I get myself back in check. I'm heading to Toronto for a 4 day getaway, leaving Wednesday, so I'm hoping all the damage can be undone by the 3rd weigh in. I always puff up when flying so I don't imagine next week will be in the direction I want it.3 -
Start Weight: 281 (March 2017)
Challenge Start Weight: 213
Challenge Goal Weight: Below 200!
Comments: Definitely ate too much this weekend. My challenge start weight is probably (hopefully) pretty inflated with the ham, deviled eggs, and all the candy from Easter. I really need to focus on getting back into the gym this week, usually if I work out regularly I eat much better.6 -
@nvasquez41 @ _Mrs_Ryan_ @mebelfanti Welcome back to all of you!1

Start Weight: 194 (highest weight last year)
Challenge Start Weight: 174.0
Challenge Goal Weight: 165
Comments: had dairy the last several days. Thinking it's causing me to feel tired, increased post nasal trip, skin not looking as great and looking tired. Potentially may have caused weight gain. Going to remove from my diet and see if my energy, etc comes back. Really got frustrated over the weekend with how restricted I feel in eating out. Plus, I went to the grocery store to get some lunch from the hot, prepared section and got mad because they didn't have labels for their dishes. The guy working there didn't seem super knowledgeable either. Had the same experience when I called to see if there was any gluten or wheat in beef pho. I'm talking to my nutritionist today and hope it makes me feel better.3 -
Day 1
Start Weight: 218.4
Challenge Start Weight: 203.2
Challenge Goal Weight: 193.2
Comments: I really really want to get back to Onederland! I have put on around 8 lbs in the past year and its time for it to go. I've had a lot of stress in my personal life lately, so my main goal is to not let that affect my mind and body. Also, daily vitamin d and my doctor is switching up my iron/c routine to 3 pills at once M/W/F so hopefully it will absorb better.3 -
Start Weight: 144.1 lbs (4/1/17)
Challenge Start Weight: 130.3 lbs (4/2/18)
Challenge Goal Weight: 125-127 lbs
Comments: I weighed in this morning and of course gained a few lbs from my weekend binge. Oh but my friends...Marble Slab, Starburst jelly beans and Popeyes were all worth it. LOL! Also, I had cheesecake. It was divine. And of course I am bloated. HA!
Anyway, so this week I will be working on a new workout routine. I think I am going to lift heavier and do less reps. It's time. I have been doing 12-15 reps with 20 & 25 lb dumbbells for some months now. Also, I am going to do spaghetti squash this week, taco salads and probably tilapia and some veggies. I know what I need to do I just need to do it.
I am entering maintenance and I want to see what it takes to stay between 125-130 lbs. Hopefully this isn't too complicated.6 -
Start weight: 127 lbs (Feb 2017)
*hit goal weight if 110 in Nov 2017
Challenge goal weight: maintenance range of 108-113 lbs.

Start weight: 158 (July 2017)
Challenge start weight: 143
Challenge goal weight: 136
Comments: Weighed this morning and was surprised to find myself only 1lb up, despite having eaten a huge pizza last night (soooo good). Plus wine. And that’s on the back of an Easter weekend of general excess (and wine. I don’t normally drink). Hoping to get back on track this week!5 -
Start Weight:200.8 (January 2018)
Challenge Start Weight:194.0
Challenge Goal Weight:179.0
Comments: I'm excited to be doing this! I am almost back on track with recovery from surgery almost 3 weeks ago. Not quite ready to step up the exercise, but I feel the goal is somewhat realistic (set at 15 pounds or 5 pounds a month). I will be extremely happy if I can lose 12 of that! I have longer goals overall, but this feels do-able for now.4 -
Day 1
Start Weight: 148

Challenge Goal Weight: 125

Hey y'all~
I kind of dropped the ball during the winter challenge and stopped weighing in d/t stress from trying to move. Then I finally did move, and now I don't have a scale! I'm going to order one on Friday and I hope to be able to fully participate in the group after it arrives! Meanwhile, I'll be checking in for moral support and advice5 -
Day 1
Start Weight: 186 (9/15) and again (9/16)
Challenge Start Weight: 153.6
Challenge Goal Weight: 145
Comments: I also ate too much this weekend and Passover still has 4 more days...3 -

Hi all, sorry I missed intros and hope I can stay in the group. Happy Week 1. I’m an orthopedic massage therapist near Boston MA and I like trail running; I’m also doing my second round of the beginner Strong Curves program. I decided my goals are going to be BF% oriented and less about weight, though 125 would be a fun weight to sit at this summer. I plan to keep lifting and getting leaner and stronger, and to avoid getting heavier than this weight again!
I ate a whole Lindt Easter bunny but other than that Easter was a lot of delicious salad and good company. I haven’t been drinking much which is helpful. My medications are in a good balance (I’m on a very low dose now of the one that makes me super hungry). I’m just really excited for spring (although it’s 32 degrees today).

Week 1
Start Weight: 197.2 (January 2014)
Challenge Start Weight: 157.8
Challenge Goal Weight: 150.0
I assume I'm still the same weight. I'm still putting out a family fire but should be back to normal Sunday.
I'm being very hopeful with my challenge goal weight. I'm looking at the last 10-12 pounds so I'm not sure how it's going come off. It's been a slow journey so far so......
Looking forward to working with you all.
Shelly
Looks like I missed the window on the Introductions. I'm Shelly, (almost) 51 year old Receptionist and Biller for a small Optometrist Group in Northern Michigan (tip of the mitt!). Married 31 years and mom of two grown children. I started my journey four years ago after a year of mourning after losing my mom at my highest weight of 197. I've lost some, stayed the same, gone up, lost it again, stayed the same and then in the last year I've been pretty consistent in losing the weight and keeping it off. This group has helped tremendously with that. Glad to be back with y'all.3
