As a last ditch effort before more invasive methods my GI is going to be giving me a botox injection via gastroscopy on monday. Anyone have this before?

Ok it went fine but it hasn't helped my solid food emptying speed yet. My pain level and symptoms are the same for solid food (which I barely tolerate) but I'm definitely dumping fluid. It is taking about 10-15 minutes from mouth into my ileostomy so I'm guessing I'm not absorbing liquid nutrition. Grr.0

Ok didn't work. He wants to try it again in a month0

I’m sorry @singingflutelady that I haven’t responded sooner. Do you know About Murphy’s Law? It means what can happen to you Will! I swear, everything that can could go wrong has, damnit! But, I’m here now!0

@happykat5 oh it has. Ive been referred to the closest motility specialist - 800 day wait. I'm starting 10:10 cbd thc oil tonight again. I tried one dose last week but holy crap I had really bad reflux and regurgitating. It was like gp on steroids. It could have been the gastroparesis not the oil so trying again. It takes a few hours to work so hopefully I will have a good night's sleep. How are you and your arthritis issues? I have Crohn's related arthritis and have painful joints so I guess it is autoimmume arthritis. I don't shake because of my joints but I find my legs shake when my abdominal pain is very bad.0

@singingflutelady I think I’m doing okay. I take that with a grain of salt though because others see me “not well” and try to tell me what I should do/or what I should try to feel better. Someone told me that I would be better if I did the 30 day Activa yoghurt challenge to help with my digestion.
Really?
Um, no thank you...but thanks for playing.
Try to remain positive.0 -
@happykat5 Activia definitely regenerates your vagus nerve and causes missing GI tract parts to regrow healthfully. I apparently who cure my Crohn's if I become a vegan keto. Um ouch fiber and fat.0

@singingflutelady I’m a firm believer in trying whatever you can before more invasive things are done. At the time, I was too far for yogurt weekly to help me, but fast forward, I try to eat every natural probiotic that I can from beets to kimchi. I think that eating Whole Foods and plants (and doing juicing) has helped me tremendously even though those are the very food items that hurt me. It’s crazy. I crave lettuce. I eat lettuce, but stay in the bathroom most of the day if I eat it. But, damnit, I have to believe that’s better than a chicken nugget (that doesn’t make me sick) but I can’t pronounce half of the ingredients. I think it’s just finding out what you can do and tolerate.0

I crave salad so much. I wasn't able to eat it during my Crohn's years and was finally able to post proctocolectomy than boom gastroparesis so no more salad (though I do eat it once in a while when I have nothing on my schedule). My diet is anything but healthy but at this point it is whatever I can get in.0

@singingflutelady Fiber is my 2nd arch enemy (1st is sugar) but I have gradually started eating it again. I grew up on fruits (in their natural state) and vegetables and I missed them so much. I usually eat on the toilet (TMI) but we’re past that🤗😂. Anything leafy comes out within about 10 minutes. My husband made me a nice little toilet are, I have books, a nice lil plant and he bought me a really cushy toilet seat. Gotta love that! Fruits make me very full so I only drink the juice (no pulp) but can tolerate some cherries and watermelon. Thank goodness summer is here, produce is finally a lot less expensive. Yay!!0

Yay! Sugar doesn't like me either. I don't live on the toilet anymore because of my ileostomy woohoo. It does have some advantages lol0

Lol 😂 @singingflutelady Yup. It’s kinda neat to see your “actual” output. I have actually pulled out pills that didn’t dissolve and seriously thought about washing off my medication to re-take.
Did I? Or Didn’t I?
Hmmm...😂😂
An Ostomy bag makes you question yourself so many times! But, I was grateful that it worked. Forever humbled.0 -
Kinda funny seeing lots of stuff come out exactly as it did when it went in0

@singingflutelady So true...I’ve seen whole leaf lettuce come thru!
Omg...this is so funny. If you are just reading this thread, you’re probably, “What?! Are they taking about?!”
😂 😂0 -
Lol yup but it's so nice to talk to someone who understands. Nothing is truly TMI in GI diseases0

This is so sad to say (and I say this a lot) but it will take some “pretty” known actress or actor to put Digestive Disorders out there in the media. I think every disease should be shown. You never know what’s happening behind closed doors, so show everything! I have a close friend that has been type 1 diabetic for most of her life. I asked her how she felt about all the commercials that refer to being type 2. She has empathy but she’s like where are the commercials for type 1? Hmmm.
I remember seeing a commercial about 1 Crohn’s commercial in the last 2 months! But, I saw 10 commercials for heart disease, some mobility thing and life alert (I’m okay with that since my mom is elderly🤗). But really? Nothing about he other digestive disorders that affect so many.
BOO!!!!0
