Welcome one and all to August!
A new challenge month but the old spreadsheet!
So don't look for a new one of those, but continue to post your weight on the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' which Nikki will update as needed. You can obviously also post your weight in this post and many do.
For anyone new out there; feel very welcome to join, we usually post our weigh Sundays and use the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' also in 'Announcements' to track weight.
We use this thread to encourage each other and to add our weight as well if we want to and generally chat!
It's fun and it's been working and we've lost a shed load of weight between us. It seems to keep us going and even if we go up occasionally (and who doesn't!) we get back to it and continue the journey.

I have the ultimate motivation of my 50th High School reunion coming up this month. So, August is going to be a very special month for me. In addition to my reunion, I believe this will be the month I finally concur those last ten pounds. And if that is not enough for motivation, I’m anticipating surgery for my damaged shoulder. I need to get ahead of surgery recovery by getting in the best shape I can before I go under the knife. So, bring it on August!6

My short-term motivation is the fact that I have a closet full of cloths size 14. I can currently squeeze into 16 but I'm only buying essentials and keep wearing dresses and skirts with elastic waistband. In two months, I'm going on vacation with my sister (haven't seen her for over a year). My goal is to fit into my size 14 pants by October 1st.

I'm ready for August. After a rollercoaster ride of gains and losses in July, I'm hoping to get below 270 for the first time in years.

New to Keto and hoping that with the spreadsheet, this challenge, and some encouragement I can make this happen. I have done research on Keto and Fibromylagia and it seems to be one of several answers to what I am searching for. Looking forward to the following:
1) Lose weight.
2) Start my journey back into remission from my Fibromyalgia.
3) Regain energy and vitality.
4) Be ready for the challenges of my October vacation.
5) Get back into those little black dresses!

My weight loss has started to slow and come in small waves, and end of August was initially when I wanted to reach goal weight by, but I'm honestly pretty happy with the rate I'm losing right now, so I'd be OK if I didn't quite hit it. I am feeling better and buying smaller clothes. I'm not feeling deprived of anything, which also helps. Except popcorn. LOL

I can't believe July is nearly over. My brother gets married in 2 weeks, so I'm in bootcamp mode. Good amounts of strength training, little dairy, & enough protein. That said, I'm aiming for the 160s this month.

I'm attempting to go full Carnivore for the month of August with NO calorie counting. I'm doing so more for health reasons than anything else, but some increased fat loss would be great as well. Keto has gotten me a lot closer to finally not feeling "sick" anymore, but I do still have some issues. I'm pretty convinced that I'm still having some food intolerance issues and other than fasting for 30 days (not happening) I think that this will be the best way to eliminate virtually everything to see if I can pinpoint my issues. It will be a challenge because I'll be away on vacation the third week, but we have a house and a full kitchen, so hopefully I'm able to keep myself in check.
I just had some blood work done last week and am happy to report that my BG was 66 and my Cholesterol only 178 - both new lows for me. Even my blood pressure was great at 98/63. I still have another 75lbs or so to lose, but it's amazing what losing 70lbs so far has done for me and how much I've been able to improve my overall health through weight loss and eating better. Just over a year ago I was diagnosed with Metabolic syndrome and now, nada! Keep on Ketoing my friends!11 -
I need some motivation too! This next month will be stressful and busy, so having a goal in mind will help me stay on track. I think a 5-lb goal is realistic for the next month. Let's do this!

I have my August workouts planned. I have my food goals set. Now I just need to follow it and track the results. Goals:
1 - lose 2" on waist (currently 30")
2 - lose 3 lbs
3 - get down to 17% body fat on my scale (currently 18.4)5 -
I'm fairly new to keto. Started on July 6th and have stalled a bit after losing the initial water weight. I'm hoping to be fully fat adapted and start to burn some fat and lose more pounds by the end of the month.

Rats!! Just gotten back from being away and I'm 4.6 pounds heavier than my all time lowest weight mid July!! So now 151 and no longer in the 140s mmmm! So back to normal life and hopefully back under 150 by Sunday, good news is that I have no more trips planned until November, though we had a really really good time so no regrets just back to good ol' Keto!!2

Based on my experience and disappointments over the last few months, I'm going to continue my mindset of not setting a number of pounds as a goal. I'll simply be happy to weigh less than I do today by the end of the month.

I’ve been toying with the idea of cutting caffeine out of my diet. I’m thinking the of pulling the trigger on this drastic change tomorrow, Tuesday, 1 August. I’m wondering if there are any other crazies out there who want to join a challenge to make a drastic change tomorrow. If you want to join in just post, “I Quit ________ Today!”, on this thread. I’m going to post today as an example.

I will also update you with my progress on quitting coffee when I post my first weight check on Sunday, 5 August. Curious to see what and if any of you have habits, addictions or behaviors you are wanting to eliminate for the sake of better health.

Hi I’m new here but not new to keto. I was on it for 6 months and lost 40 lbs. this past two months I was off and gained back 15 lbs. I want to get back on track.

I went on a bit of a bender in July, with my bday, my partners bday, and a vacay to Seattle where I ate at least my weight in oysters. Time to get back on track!
My goals for August are to log every day and keep to my calorie goal, keep my net carbs ~30, and exercise 6 days / week.

Not sure how much caffeine you consume a day, but be aware of withdrawal headaches - I have quit caffeine in the past and dealt with about two weeks of headaches. It gets better but really sucks at the beginning.1 -
@stormywxs288 I only drink 2 cups of java in the wee early morn, and dont think I'm ready to give that up yet as I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my keto coffee with butter & unsweetened dark cocoa....you might say its my chocolate fix every morning!! I haven't indulged in alcohol (since starting keto) because I think it seriously sabatoges ALL my weight loss efforts and to me it's just not worth it right now.
However I like your idea, wish you well, and will be watching your posts & updates to see how you do and what you think of it over the next few weeks. Personally I can't think of anything I really want to give up right now...but kudos to YOU!

I Quit Coffee Today! I’ve done this several times in the past and I’ve always managed to slowly let coffee creep back into my daily habit. At least now I only drink it in the morning. When I was working (retired now) I drank coffee all day and even in the evenings. So, I don’t think it will be as hard to stop this time. I anticipate headaches and other symptoms.
However, I never really had keto flu when I started keto seven months ago. Maybe I’ll have similar luck with coffee withdrawal syndromes???????? Anyone else want to quit something today?
