I was on the road again without much to do in a pretty boring place. Restaurants were to far for me to care to drive to. My hotel was nice and had a good size pool and a decent workout room, so I decided to do doubles for the week: 30 minutes run/walk on treadmill followed by 20 minutes swim in the morning and another 30 minutes run/ walk in the evening. I ate salads with rotisserie chicken I picked up from a grocery store and snacked on cheese and salami. I was super tired yesterday, but I feel all the hard work paid off. I really wanted to be as far away of 220s since my body seems to feel too comfortable around that number. Last, my NSV for the week: my watch is loose and spins around my wrist when I'm running.

It's been a great couple of weeks for me - staying in ketosis, dropping weight, AND making big progress at the gym. Now the challenge is to keep all of those things going as I adjust back into the schedule of the kids' school and 4 nights a week soccer practice plus working lots more 12 hour nights than I do during the summer.

Within ten pounds of my goal, but already at an extremely comfortable level. I'm going to start trying for maintenance by increasing consumption of proteins and vegetables. I'll probably bounce (gain/lose) during this process, and starting now will give me some wiggle room. When the practice is over, I may drop the last 5-10 pounds.

@Eggfooyamyam I’m on my way home from my 50th HS reunion where I was definitely kicked out of ketosis. When I get back home today, I plan to get right back on the keto road. However, I’m not so good at recovering from the old bad habits I’ve created over the last 68 years. So, I would really appreciate a partner looking over my shoulder to keep me keto clean for a week.
If you would watch my logging starting Monday until next Sunday I will do the same for you. If I don’t see your food post on my news feed I will bug you and vice-versa. Maybe we can motivate each other to get back on the keto wagon.

Well it looks like I've been at a stand still the last 2 weeks. Time to tweak macros or ride it out? The scale may not be moving but I'm feeling lighter & clothes are feeling looser. That is still a win for me. On to a new week!

I didn't stay Keto on vacation even though I planned to. I did do okay with my eating and only drank water. I should have done better but didn't and I am okay with that. It annoys me how hard it is to get back into it even though I know how much better I look and feel while doing Keto. I gained nearly 10 lbs on vacation. I weighed 270.8 when I weighed on Monday morning however I lost back down to my previous weigh by Wednesday morning. I knew it was mostly water weight and was trying to not freak out lol. I had my first fitting for my wedding dress Wednesday and was concerned about the bloat, but it went well.
I hope everyone is doing much better than I am, Keto-wise. I have SO much going on. I begin Student Teaching on Wednesday. So between that, still working, planning a wedding, and, most importantly, taking care of my family...including my mom who was just listed for a double lung transplant... I feel like I am being pulled in 8,537 different directions. I am not giving up on ME and Keto, I just need to stay focused!

I gained about 2.5 lbs over the last 6 weeks while on vacation and with many visitors coming and going. I'm actually very pleased with this because I have not followed Keto, just low carb. I injured my knee and that is keeping me from exercising and being as active as usual. I am back at KETO and very focused! No more out of town trips, no more visitors! My goal is to aim high and lose 20-25 lbs before my birthday in 3 months. I have managed to cut down on caffeine. I drink coffee that is 2 parts decaf, 1 part regular. I'm on a one alcoholic drink limit if I'm having drinks at all, which I expect will also lessen as the summer socializing has come to an end. I'm happy to be back!!

@d_dc_lady, I'm sorry to hear about your kitty's failing health and I understand the emotions you are experiencing. Just last April we put our beloved Wally to sleep. Sparing details of his illness and our sadness, I am posting to let you know of a service we used that may be available to you and you might want to consider: Lap of Love.
The last thing I wanted to do was put that poor little guy in his carrier which he truly hated and take him to the veterinarian's office. In home euthanasia was a much more compassionate and private experience for both Wally and us. You will know when it is time.3 -

Down she goes! I've been very diligent about logging and exercising. It's paid off. Keeping my macros at good percentages. I'm finally feeling like I have control over this and have broken through the 60s and am well into the 50s. Sometimes after a walk in the heat I weigh myself just to see the scale move dramatically from sweating so much. I know I will drink it back on, but just to see the loss makes me feel good. Is that weird? August is going to be a good month for me. Good work everyone!

Its been a great week for me! Got a new fitbit this week and as of right now I'm only 650 steps away from hitting 40,000 steps in 1 day - my all time high! I'm loving the challenges and the groups on fitbit too! (I walked 15 miles this morning, starting at 6am!)

Super excited by my loss this week: over 40 lbs down in almost 6 months! Also, I went clothes shopping for the first time since starting keto, and I am down 3 pants sizes! Super excited to have clothes that really fit again! ^_^ Keto on everyone!11 -
I just wanted to pop in and say hi before I knock out for the night. My family has been going through some things lately as one of my children has had a mental health issue diagnosed recently. We're all well, but it's one of those times in life that requires re-prioritizing. Luckily one of those priorities has been gym time. Unfortunately so has eating dessert. Lol. So anyway, I'm mostly in lurk mode but taking care of myself so that I can continue to care for my family.
My brother's wedding was today. I ate all the things. I had an amazing time. I had wine, champagne, cake (yummy cake!) I danced etc etc. No regrets!
Also, no dairy was a DISASTER!! That lasted all of 5 days. Never again! Life is too short to live without cheese & butter. I'm up to 4 proper push ups. 😁

@NikkiJRM you were a brave one to even try no dairy. I doubt if I could even last a day without cheese, butter or heavy whipping cream. I also know I couldn’t be as great a mom as you and not just because I’m a man. You always seem to have the right priorities with your mini-Me’s --- right up front. It comes through in your words and your pictures. My thoughts and cares are with you as you navigate this challenge. I know you will apply the same dedication and relentless attention you’ve demonstrated on MFP for well over a year.6

I'm allergic to dairy, so it isn't an option for me. I sorely missed the creaminess but then discovered non-dairy (soy & nut) alternatives: especially almond milk, but also daiya cheese & yogurt, tofutti cream cheese, etc. They have some carbs, which is why I'm not <25; but <50 is easy.3

I'm pretty happy with that little woosh there. I switched to Carnivore on 8/1 to hopefully deal with some food intolerances and it seems to be also helping my weight loss. I've cheated twice with some diet soda, and both times I was up several pounds the next morning -- that was certainly an unexpected occurrence. I feel good. I seem to be requiring less sleep, averaging only 5hrs a night creeping up to 7hrs on the weekends. The GI symptoms that lead me to Carnivore in the first place are subsiding. PLUS! I'm only 1.6lbs away from Onderland, and who wouldn't be excited about that!!!5 -
@kpk54 Thank you so much. Yes, I found a few in home services here in the DC area. I'm working up the courage to call them to schedule for tomorrow morning. It's definitely time. He's barely eating and has little energy. He's just not the same little ball of energy and affection that he used to be. He has cancer in his spleen and critical anemia. I knew he wouldn't get better when I got the diagnosis last Friday, but I had to try everything I could first. I can't bare to allow him to get even worse and in more pain. Now I'm ready.8

Was stuck for most of the week at 280. Finally broke that plateau on Saturday and hit 30 total pounds down. I had quite a bit to drink over the last few days, but stuck with 0carb Four Roses Bourbon and a few rum + diet cokes. I don't think my 265 goal is obtainable this month, but thats ok. I've been making great progress and will be thrilled with any type of loss.

I'm so very sorry. We had something similar happen with our furbaby a couple of years ago. That last week we spent with him loving him and trying everything we could to help him meant a lot to us. My kitty made me a cat lover & changed me forever. I hope you find some comfort knowing he lived his best life while here with you.3 -

My scale hasn't moved this week, I'll blame it on my birthday cake and the delicious lunch. It was a bit difficult to resume today with low carb, but the day has passed and I made it. Thanks for all the support!

Aaaaaand, right back to 153.4 again. hahaha - that number has been cursing me ALL WEEK! But that's OK. I am almost positive it's from not drinking enough water. It's been a struggle for me this week to make sure to get my water in. I keep forgetting my big water bottle at home so I am not drinking as much at work. Plus I don't bring a bottle on the bus when I forget my water bottle, and when you commute over 5 hours a day, that's a BIG chunk of time you're not drinking water!! I'm starting to walk more often and get off my butt as much as possible, something I've not focused on since starting Keto in June. I'm almost up to my 2 month ketoversary, which is kind of scary. LOL - I just have to remind myself of how much I've already gained by this WOE. I drink coffee out of habit, not necessity. I fit into smaller clothing. I feel more confident shopping. I am starting to like my shape. I've even admired my own butt in the mirror after putting on some nice new jeans
Here's to keep on keeping on. A minor setback is NOTHING compared to what has been gained.

The weekend was very fluid...not logging, not eating to any limits, and drinking lots of wine...I'm glad to see it didn't set me back too far, I do think the increase in weight is likely due to some water fluctuations since the waist measurement is not increased. I will be more diligent this week, and this weekend is like the only non-beach weekend this month, so it should be nice to stay home and stay on plan.2 -
