I finished my own UAC daily report for August 13 and then promptly forgot to open today's discussion page. As I was getting into bed, it occurred to me, "How many time zones difference is there between @craigo3154 in Victoria, Australia and Chicago, IL, USA?" The answer is 15 time zones. So right now, it's almost midnight here and it's 7 p.m. in Australia. I had to get cracking!!
Hope each and every one has had a great day!!

Exercised?: Yes. 4km walk at lunch, 6km walk over dinner (North Sydney).
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Travelled interstate (again).
Been here that may times that the hotel staff know me and I gave me a free room upgrade (not that I need it - but it is appreciated).
@RangerRickL. I am all to aware of the time zones. I work with people in the US (West, East and Central), Canada, China, Korea, Japan, India and Europe (Spain, England, Netherlands).
Does my head in at times trying to match time zones for meetings.
btw, Distance between Melbourne and Sydney by air is 700km (444 miles). One hours flying time. Takes me longer to get from my house to the airport than it takes for the plane to get from Melbourne to Sydney.
Leaving home at 7:00 to catch a 9:00am flight, I arrived at the Sydney office at 11:00am. That's a 4 hour one way commute.5 -
@craigo3154, Thanks so much for the information! I am reposting it below, in case anyone missed it the other day. It's so helpful. I gained this gelatinous, fat around my torso, yuk! And it's made itself comfortable and at home. I'm going to work out the calories that I should actually be eating, and ferret out the unhealthy stress eating. I'm out of the running for the winner's circle, but so glad that I'm still a part of this group.
@RangerRick, happy belated 68th!
<snip from craig's post>If the weight is not moving after a number of weeks, but you are still tracking and keeping active, it is time to look at the tracking data you have accumulated.
If you have weights for a number of weeks and daily calories, you can work out you actual TDEE (total daily energy expenditure). This is instead of relying on the online calculators.
To work out your current TDEE:
- Add together the total calories consumed over 3 weeks.
- Add weight loss change in lbs multiplied by 3500 (eg. if lost 2 lbs, ADD 7000: if gained 1 lbs, SUBTRACT 3500)
- Divide total by 21.
This gives average TDEE given the activity you have been performing.
This TDEE is the amount you need to consume daily to MAINTAIN weight. If you consume 500 kCal less than this TDEE per day and you should lose approximately 1lb per week (assuming you keep a similar activity level).
You can also look for stress eating patterns or "empty" calories. Empty calories are snacks or beverages that do not fill you up (or really enjoy) that have calories that can be reduced. <snip>5 -

Back to routine is awesome (but going away occasionally is as well)
Early morning Jiu Jitsu with the boys and evening class were the exercises of choice today!
Food all logged and under calories.
Ate the last of my birthday Brownies and now I'm going to have to avoid wheat for a while. If I eat too much, I get allergies and I've been eating really badly!6 -
