Wrapped up the week at another family gathering...bday for my SIL. Next weekend is my grand niece's 1st bday party then...Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away? Good grief the year is over almost :s
I'm drinking wine as usual :drinker:

Syd- Family gatherings is why we have wine! <3

Rare beautiful fall day here. Need to get in a walk or two. Moderating a bit. Hope the scales will have good news Friday!

I think my husband is the only one who gets excited about jury duty. He hates his job so much that he'd rather sit and listen to a bunch of lawyers all day. He got on a case that may last a couple of weeks and he's thrilled :D

I stepped on the scale and am about where I was before I packed on those 3-5 lbs. Trying to get in a routine again.

re: Jury duty. Definitely NOT excited about a jury summons.

"Trying to get in a routine." Let me know how I can do the same!

I can relate to your husbands feelings about Jury duty. I would rather spend a day in a jury room reading waiting to be called that go to work. I have never gotten on a case. Son's wedding and huge family drama to come I am sure. (Doug's family and his exes) I will consume plenty to keep the edge off. take care all.

No fires here, thankfully...but super windy and dry. We desperately need rain!

Hanging in there. Finally a quiet week. My brother does Thanksgiving (yay!) so next week is easy too. I'm actually getting a little excited about Xmas this year. Last year was a mess so I'm ready to decorate and go all out.

How's everyone doing? What are your Thanksgiving plans?

I'll be cooking here....my company always gives us a fresh turkey from a local turkey farm so I always try to cook on Thanksgiving.
Syd- glad to hear that no fires where you are!
I think I've only had 5 beers all month so I'm still going along on minimal alcohol.... :#

We will host the family Thanksgiving. Will most likely have around a dozen show up. We are laid back so the stress level isn't so bad.

Syd- I am glad the fires have spared San Diego. The loss of life and property is tragic!

Hi all, I survived the wedding but the smoke in Sacramento was awful. We flew over the Camp fire it was horrific.
Glad to be back home and I am still plugging along. Last year we did that huge tasting menu for Thanksgiving. Just me and Doug cooking throughout the day. This year we are each choosing 3 new recipes to cook through out the day, Could be interesting.

Robin, glad you survived the Sacramento smoke. Heartbreaking what is happening down in California.

I am in a state of semi-hybernation. Not motivated to do much more than look out the window at the dreary weather.

    Have a great weekend lushes!

We had beautiful weather this weekend. And still I didn't do a thing. *sigh*

Robin, sometimes the best self care is to do nothing. It's ok ;)

Spent the weekend looking at condos with my son. How am I old enough to have a kid that prequalified for a freaking mortgage? :o It's interesting watching him go through it all. You don't get much for your money here in SoCal. Spending hundreds of thousands on a box that needs fixing up can be overwhelming.

Hope all you lushes have a fabulous turkey day! I'm in charge of the wine so I'm all set :drinker:

Syd- you must be one proud Mom! :)

Bought the rest of the food for our Thanksgiving get together.

Spent part of the afternoon troubleshooting a battery problem on the truck. Actually tracked it down and fixed it! Beats a tow to the dealer any day!

On the other fronts- just pluggin along. B)

Everyone survive Turkey day? All good here but I'm thinking about cutting out booze this week. It's been a while since I've logged several days in a row without my wine.
Let's see how it goes :D

    You can do it Syd!
Great job on the truck repair Gary!

Drank a little too much on Thanksgiving, been a while since I did that! Back to zeros now... :#

Thanks! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. (My sleep was a little off but that's a regular battle)
I think it was clear my body was ready for a reset. I'm not sure if it will continue into the weekend...headed to the store and will probably pick up some red wine. Cold and rainy days here...a glass next to the fire sounds good.
BTW...I had an open bottle of wine here the entire week and didn't drink it. I don't think I've *ever* done that! :D
Have a great weekend lushes!! :drinker:

    Syd- simply amazing!

Went with my mom to her appt to have hand surgery- that took up 5 hours but was glad I could be with her. Dad has eye surgery Monday, and the dog has a tooth extraction on Tuesday. Busy busy busy.

I am moderating a bit but nuttin like Sydney!

Got the house decorated! We'll hit up the farm for our tree next week. And of course, I enjoyed some wine which helps while getting things done.

The Seattle Aquarium is very cool. Downtown Seattle is, unfortunately, full of homeless and has a HUGE heroin problem. Are one of the ladies his girlfriend?

He's coming back tomorrow...I'll be interested to hear about all he did while up there and his overall impressions of the Emerald City. His G/F (middle in the pic) is from there and they were up visiting her mom.
Red wine last night. Finally turned the heat on down here in So Cal.

Today is cold but beautiful out.

Syd- this would be a good day for them to take a fairy ride around the San Juans. Maybe even see Mt Rainier!
