Too often, I don't appreciate the good things within the present as my thoughts pull into today, my imagined bad thing(s) that might happen in some tomorrow.
Focus on and appreciate today...I'll do that too!

Yes x3 today
Today's message is pertinent to me. My partner has been in hospital for the last three weeks with two different strains of the flu. He was really, really sick. Today he got up, dressed and we walked to a local cafe for brunch. First bit of normalcy in three weeks! Hopefully he'll be back home soon.12 -

Thanks for the appreciation advice for the day. I was feeling down and out this morning. I was focusing on what I didn't have versus the amazing things I did have. I often focus on what my husband doesn't do and that it a small margin compared to all the great things he does do. Negativity is so powerful and I daily have to play tug-a-war to prevent from allowing negativity to win.9

So true, we can get so carried off by all the negative things around us and all the negative things our loved ones are doing that we forget how great they are. We forget why they are our loved ones in the first place. As the world mark November 11, let's take sometime and reflect not only on the sacrifice of our soldiers but also on the sacrifices of our loved ones.

I wish to give thanks to both the community here ~ thanks for keeping me on the straight & narrow!!
Also the community in the village where I live ~ the crowd surrounding the War Memorial this Remembrance Sunday (which is on the village green across from our cottage) plus the 140 plus visitors to the exhibition at The Memorial Hall dedicated to the Fallen of our village made me grateful for the wonderful life I have due to the many who gave the ultimate sacrifice
Thank you x7 -

I also want to chime here and say how much I appreciate this group and Ranger Rick for running it so very well. A special thank you to all our Veterans who give so much of themselves. I'm also so thankful for my husband who every day encourages me to be the best I can be.8 -
Exercised (Yesterday)? I did, ish. Took a couple of hours' walking into town to do some grocery shopping.
Within Calorie Budget? Kinda. Well, probably not, actually. Tried OMAD over the weekend, and while I wasn't specifically hungry by the time dinner came around, I made an amaaaaaazing balsamic pot roast (if I do say so myself) with gorgeous sinewy chuck steak, which was just FULL of umami and chewiness and soft, tender, succulent meat - so it was easy to over-eat. I also made healthy-ish apple crumble, BUT ate too much of it.
Tracked Calories? Sure did.

Daughter had first roller hockey game today. Enjoyed it, but has a lot to work on.
Went for a walk while waiting for match to begin, then went flying after lunch. Beautiful weather.
Not much else to report.
@RangerRickL. It is too easy to take what we have for granted.
I appreciate each and every member of UAC. By their effots they show others how to do it right. It is such a struggle to develop habits that keep you healthy in a society that is obsessed with profits, quick fixes, fad diets and nutritional mis-information.6 -
Rick, I always enjoy opening up a new thread each day to see what you have posted. Thanks so much for everything! I am getting so much out of being here.

Heading to NYC in the morning for a week long conference. I will be living out of a hotel room and eating out all my meals. I hope to start each day with a workout on the hotel treadmill so I think I will be okay on exercise. I am, however, worried about how I will end up handling the food situation as I don't know what to expect.6 -

My dad's birthday was November 11. He has been gone for 8 years. I miss him. It was easy to remember his birthday and Veteran's Day.
My report:
I really miss being able to come home from work and enjoy being outside. It gets so dark and cold at what seems to be such an early hour. I tend to get pretty soft in the winter. I'll be getting up at 4:30 a.m., to go meet with the trainer, Chrissie. She is classified as a professional body builder.
Calories: under by more than 350 cals
Tracking: good

Enjoyed all of the nice comments on appreciation from the group today. What a nice entrance for the day Rick.
So encouraging. This group is special.
Appreciation goes a long way toward developing lasting friends and close family ties. It doesn't cost anything to let others know how grateful you are for what they do. We all like it when others do that for us.2 -
