Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better. GOOD LUCK!

Hi, Just joined. I am 63, vegan (living on a cattle ranch - crazy, I know), have lost 35 pounds and have 15 more to go, and started regular exercising again a week ago and already feel soooo much better. This is my first challenge. Looking forward to it!9

This will be my first ultimate challenge. I’m down 27lbs since August, joined the gym in October. I really want to kick it into high gear for January, can’t wait to start!!!8

I'm excited to join this challenge. I have been trying to lose and get healthier for several years, got down 60#, into a size 12, then hit a major plateau. Now my weight is creeping back up, so I no longer can wear size 12. So I know discipline and dedication is what I need to succeed.6

Exactly my story! Glad to meet you.4

Nice to meet you too Sue0

Hello! Excited to start the challenge. My weight has been creeping up and Im feeling a winter slump. My fitness and weight has always been up and down. I love to garden and grow my own food, love to cook (and eat). I love to be outdoors and active during warm months but tend to hibernate in the cold Minnesota winter. This summer I got into a running routine which was great but now that the cold weather has moved in I have stopped and pretty much fallen off the wagon completely. Time to pull it back together!6

Are you my twin?1

I'm back for my third month. Looking to return to the einner's circle after missing it last month.
I am currently 2.9 pounds from goal after losing 57 pounds over the past year. Am hoping to hit that goal during this mongth's challenge. (Then I'll continue after that for the accountability and support while I figure out msintenance.)
Welcome to all our new members. This is a great group and focusing on the three elements in the challenge wI'll help you develop the habits that lead to success.9 -
January will be my 14th month of participating in the UAC challenge with the goal being to live a healthy life. Monitoring calories, logging, and exercise are the key components of this challenge, yielding success when coupled with individual determination to stay on track. UAC is my inspiration for continued diligence. Welcome to all the new team members who are joining UAC for the first time in January, and to the "virtual friends" with whom I have become acquainted in the last several months. Thank you for being my cheerleaders on this journey. We are better together!9

Back for my third month. Hoping to quick discard Christmas baggage, and improve my fitness and health.9

Hello, I’m a newbie. I’m using this challenge to hold me accountable for healthy choices because when my depression hits I lose my appetite and lust for life affirming activities. I’m excited and curious to see how this tool fits into my overall wellness plan.8

Hello All I am new to this challenge. I am currently at the highest weight I have ever been and am desperate to get off this roller coaster I have been on. I hope to utilize this challenge to hold myself accountable so I can make a change.7

Welcome new members! This is a great challenge - has helped me a lot - shows you your strengths and weaknesses and helps you to keep focused. Good luck to all.4

New to this challenge, but a good way to begin a new year...4

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie and a college student trying to lose weight while going to school full time. I'm 25 pounds from my goal weight and have lost 15 pounds since my highest weight in July when I decided I really wanted to make a lifestyle change and be healthier. I'm hoping that the accountability will help me lose weight and have a support system.5

Hi all.
I will be starting on the 2nd. I will be doing different calorie amounts during the week. Setting a walking challenge and focusing on an exercise program. I have also joined a 21 day reduce sugar challenge.
I’m looking forward to being accountable.
Big challenge but worth it.

I'm a newbie too! This challenge sounds like a fun way to kick-start my fitness goals for 2019. Bring on January 1st!!4

Hello there, I almost forgot that the month was ending I had not yet signed up.
Im in my 4th or 5th month here, just maintaining.
Welcome to all the new members!!7 -
New to the challenge and looking forward to it! My story is maybe like a lot of others - using MFP I successfully got down to my goal weight through daily accountability for exercise and logging, but through sheer lack of mindfulness have regained most of it back over the past two years. I am generally pretty active (running/swimming/gym/hiking) type person, but have to admit I find excuses not to get out there on cold winter days! Hoping this will be the motivation I need to get back on track. Thanks @RangerRickL for the challenge!3

Looking forward to the accountability challenge. I have been part of this group in the past and found it very helpful and supportive. last year, I was able to get very close to goal weight, but have gained some back over the holidays and haven’t been tracking my food, so I am here for a fresh start. I am 38 years old, mom to 4 kids 8 years old and under, and do my best to exercise when the two younger ones are napping (strength training and yoga mostly), and we take walks when the weather agrees. I also teach a few yoga classes. Thanks for leading this great group @RangerRickL2

I'm excited for a tough challenge. This will be my first time- hopefully it will give me the boost I've needed to lose 5 lbs for my goal. It's been elusive to me for months!5
-
Hello again,
I've done this challenge in the past but not for the last 2-3 months. I can't wait to start again!

Hi everyone! This is EXACTLY the type of challenge I need right now.
I am a Weight Watchers Lifetime member who is about 10 lbs above her goal weight right now. I ended up leaving WW last month as it was no longer working for me -- I'm a runner and workout twice most days (strength training in the am and running/cardio in the pm), so it wasn't allowing me to get enough food aka energy. I'm now working with a sports nutritionist and she suggested I use MFP to track my food intake.
This will be great for me as I need accountability and I need to be rigid with it. I look forward to getting to know you all and helping with motivation!3 -
2018 was a good year, I lost 13 lbs and worked with a trainer all year to lose fat and gain strength. The gym is now a habit, but I need to lose 20 more lbs and I know diet is my issue. I tend to track for a few days then stop because I eat something I don’t want to track...hopefully this challenge will hold me accountable. I stopped eating fast food and don’t drink soda, and have started eating healthier, but cookies, ice cream and candy are my weakness. And carbs. I’m working on trying to mostly eat produce and lean protein but it’s tough. Hopefully this challenge helps keep me accountable and I finally drop the last 20 lbs in 2019.5

Hey All,
I'm a petite-framed, normally athletic person and mom of three girls, and I almost constantly carry 7-10 lbs more than I'd like. I'm heavier than I've been in a long time, and I think that's mostly because I am not disciplined in my diet or my sleep habits. I allow splurges all the time (sweets, alcohol, fast food) with a million different justifications, and it has caught up with me. It's time to get after it. I'm going to exercise more intentionally and finally experiment with some self-discipline. I also need to start getting up earlier so that I can get exercise in before my kids wake up, so changing my sleep habits will be important. I'll need your help!5 -
Hi All, Thanks @RangerRickL for running this.
I am early 40s, pescatarian, my main form of exercise is walking. I plan to add some weight lifting in January.
I'll need extra motivation since I'll start a new job on 2 Jan, going from self-employed to corporate. I hope UAC will encourage me to maintain good habits.
I have lost 20 lbs so far this year, and hope to reach Onederland at end of January. But the journey is still very long (70/80 lbs to lose still).3 -
Hi challengers, UAC has become a way of life for me, it has got me fitter and healthier than i have ever been in my 55 years, i have made it to the winners circle on a few occasions and when I haven't I know I only have myself to blame, welcome old and new!5
-
Hi sorry. Starting the 1st. I will be away in a hotel with my family so will need to do my exercise there first thing. We are then eating out. I have already scanned the menu for a salad. But must start as I mean to go on.
Good luck all.
