Hi @juststartedrunningagain I believe it’s called “double cream” in the U.K. I’ve had some friends from there who log that in their food diary.
Please read up on the higher fat aspect of this way of eating. It truly is healthy despite what we’ve been brainwashed with forever (the low-fat teachings have been wrong and detrimental to our health)! It increases the ability to look at carb laden foods and not have any desire for them, because you’re so satisfied with the foods you’re eating. I used it in my coffee, a splash in my scrambled eggs to make them fluffy, and in a homemade hollandaise sauce to accompany meats very early on. I don’t use it so much now since I’m in maintenance mode, but I don’t think I would have made it without it! And my cholesterol numbers remained normal (I get them checked annually, and I’ve been doing this four years now) throughout.
As a nurse, I was very reluctant in the beginning, but once I saw what it could do for me, and the control it gave me over food, I haven’t looked back! I can still sit right beside the most beautiful box of chocolates, or donuts... and have no desire for them since I don’t see them as food anymore. Five years ago I would have told you that you were crazy for saying that could happen. I wish I could tell all of my patients about it now, but I don’t have that opportunity!
Hopefully the experts will change will believe the proof that’s in front of them one day!5 -
Hi Karla it’s so great to hear you have stopped the carb cravings. I have definitely fallen off the wagon but I have to be honest apart from just skipping breakfast and having black coffee the other days I continued to have skimmed milk (frothed) Tao think perhaps even this small amount may be what continues to cause cravings? V interesting!0

Very likely can @juststartedrunningagain! The skim milk has no nutritional value and provides no satisfying properties is all. Your honesty is awesome! It’s wonderful that you’re coming here with your challenges! I can tell you that there are lurkers out there who are afraid to post their same challenges and seeing you having the same is likely helping them! Inspiring them the keep on keeping on too! The main thing is never giving up on yourself! Just keep at it and one day the equation finally evens out for you and becomes simple. Hugs!0

Thanks again Karla maybe too honey according to my recent post too! Guess what was using up the skinny milk in the mean time. Just chatting to a doctor friend who said she tried keto and it didn’t work she then said but actually I didn’t do it correctly 😂 so not keto then!1
