Thanks Chris. Bella's school musical was so fun last night. Mary Poppins Jr. It was really wonderful to see her so happy...she just turned 13. Bella has had a tough couple of years with bullying at school because of her weight and strong personality, and just overall anxiety. I have a great therapist and nutritionist she's working with so such great progress. So Beautiful to see her so happy :-) 2 more today.

Made a nice pot of turkey soup for lunch today and sandwiches. I bought these keto wraps on my last trip to Canada that I still haven't tried so I'll be wrapping up my sandwich in a wrap.

So I have this thing when I travel about going to grocery stores. Probably part of my food Obsession! But I love to see what they have in other countries. And if possible I try to bring some home. My husband is gluten-free and I'm always bringing him home some interesting gluten-free things that we don't have here. Canada is all over keto like we are here in the US. My mom laughs at me because when I open my suitcase when I get back there's often a good amount of interesting food in there!

I hope everybody has an awesome day!

Oh, man! I remember 13. Middle School...her teacher asking me if DDD had started her period because she was soo moody. Then I turn around and she's all grown up with a room full of 6 year olds teaching them how to read.

Hold her tight, Karen, and tell her you love her to the moon and back. And I would visit all the grocery stores, too! That sounds like such fun! Only problem there is...I have direction dysfunction and would get lost in every town I had to go to.

I'm going to make a Red Beans and Rice soup. It calls for ham hocks and all-day cooking, but I'm going to short cut it. Will let you know how it turns out. DH is ready to go shopping... :o ...gotta get ready.

Back later if I survive the grocery store!!

145.0 at 8:00 this morning. I really like it. I know it will be higher Tuesday morning, but I'm happy right now!

Didn't make soup yesterday. Hurt too much. Couldn't think. Will make it today...I think...maybe. I did add Uncle Ben's Ready Rice to the chili in the fridge yesterday. It's Brown Jasmine & Edamame with carrots, garlic and onion flavor. It saved the chili that is "salt free" and bland. I really liked it.

Well, that's it for now. How are all of you doing?

Chris, what can we do about your pain? You shouldn't have to live with that much of it!

Karen I also love Mary Poppins. So much fun.

Chris we had a great chicken soup last week. Yummy

Paula so glad you dressed brightly. Funerals are so sad.

Got the two large aquariums cleaned. Cleaned everything. Overflows, sump, protein skimmers algae reactor. Just everything. With Rockys upcoming surgery we wanted to get everything done. Went to a friend's home to see her tank. It is unusual in that she has a pond as her sump. Complete with fish, coral and starfish. The room had orchids growing up a wall. Beautiful.

Sanara finally received her graduation gift from me. I promised her a puppy when she was ready. Well Friday we gave her an 8 week old labordoodle. She named her Penny. Barney did better today on his walk. Slow and steady. And I finally found a recliner I liked. I have been looking for a chair for a couple of years. Yesterday I found a recliner that matches my loveseat. I guess lazy boy still makes the set. And the funny thing was the manager showed us that it has several settings for the legs and back. I never knew that! Went home and you guessed it.....mine does also. Lol

    Hi Shelley,

How long have you had that love seat? Too funny. What is Rocky's surgery for? Hope he is well soon!

147.4 this morning at 7:30. Yeah, where did that come from? Late night ice cream?? :p No way to start my week. :D

Paula, hoping the pain doc sends me to the back surgeon so I can stop hurting like this. I know it won't all go away but it will be better and I can get off some of these pain meds. Came off one already after the back shot. Boy was that weird. eewwee. Didn't like that at all.

Shelley...I want a big puppy. Or a Keeshond. That's so funny about the love seat. Glad you found your recliner. How did your friend do the pond inside the house or am I misunderstanding the room?

Okay, kids are still in Carmel. We still have Bean. I have a meeting w/our trainer at noon. We need to take Bean for a bath. I need to make soup. Then I need to go through my two piles of magazines. :# That's my day so far.

    Love you guys.

Paula I have had it long enough to not remember when I bought it! Several years anyway. Silly right? total knee replacement for him.

Chris it is in like a patio that is enclosed with lots of windows. She used one of those plastic liners for the pond. Most people dig them down for outside, she built up around it. Hope they can fix your back. Crossing my fingers for you.

    Got to run.

In NYC today for a conference. Staying overnight and treated myself to Frozen the Musical ;) I’m a Broadway junkie. After the conference planning to walk a few miles around the city for exercise...need to stay focused on eating well too! Hoping they have some healthy options at this venue.

    Good day gals!

    Karen sounds like fun!!

145.6 this morning at 5:00. Happier than yesterday!!

Got an MRI and x-ray appt where I'll bend for the pictures. I've never done a bendy x-ray before! Then my pain doc is arranging for me to meet w/a surgeon in Vacaville for a consult. Moving right along here.

Got to go get the boys. Back later.

Karen I enjoy live performances also. We went and saw Mama Mia a few years ago. Enjoy the conference.

My new aquarium lights came in broken. :'( So they are sending a new set. Such a bummer. I am logging today. Did I mention I hate logging? Well I do. But I must. And I am looking for a new house. Not in a hurry. Just looking for something I can retire in with limited stairs for Rocky. And a large garage/workstation.

Chris what did the doctor say about the bendy pictures? Hopefully he has a plan to fix you up. <3

When are you retiring, Shelley? We got a one story 4/2 w/3 car garage on the next block for sale...only $615,000...only problem, besides the price and probably being too big...is the elementary school right across the street.

Bendy pics tomorrow. When he (my pain doc) gets the pics and the MRI back then he will send in the request for the consult to the spine docs in Vacaville. I see my regular doc on Friday. A fun week!

DDD has Spring Break starting Friday the 22nd.That's her last day...hope it's a half day. Don't know yet. She's off thru the 31st. She brought Ronan over yesterday to spend the evening with me on my 69th b'day...but I took my night meds before she got here and was so sleepy by 6:30...EGADS!!! DH said he could tell I was sleepy. Must apologize to DDD. They are coming over Sat afternoon/evening to celebrate. We are getting Mex food from Salsas....yummy...it's the best! I say that yet we haven't had Salsas in a couple of years, so we'll see. Then I have lunch on Sunday at Applebee's with two friends.

    ooo, Chris, we matched. I was 147.5 on the 12th & 13th. 146 today.

Shelley, Hope Rocky feels better soon. It was miserable for me the first couple months, but before the year was up, I decided it was one of the best things I'd ever done.

Karen, I'm jealous - Broadway plays are such a fabulous addiction!

Paula, I would be so happy with 147.4 if I was still 5'7", but I'm a bit pudgy at 5'5" now. It's all squished down and fat. Must figure out a way to get un-pudgy. (I made that up!)

147.4 this morning at 5:00. Man! I am goin' crazy! MRI yesterday was loud...5 x-rays of my back. One was bending forward and one was bending backward then three standing straight. I hope to hear something soon. Getting bursitis shot today. I'm just a poky pillow!

Getting the boys soon. Must go now.

146.0 at 7:45 this morning. Went grocery shopping w/DH, then straightened the house up, now waiting for the kids to come over to celebrate my b'day.

Got a shot for my bursitis yesterday. Maybe helping some across my lower back. Don't really know. His opinion is to go for the surgery if it is offered. That's the direction I am leaning at this point.

Must go now. Have a great weekend everyone!

Chris - Hope your back is feeling better ;)

I tweaked by back on Wednesday...not sure what I did...but have been out of commission for a few days. Several visits to my chiropractor and I am feeling better. Will still be a few more days of taking it easy for me.

Chris I still have almost 6 years to go. I looked at a house today. It was only half the price of the one you mentioned. But the foundation was so bad it needed bulldozed! Yikes! Chris back surgery sounds awful. Rocky sister had back surgery two days ago. She says it is already better than before surgery. But still in a lot of pain. Growing old is not for whimps! Crossing fingers for you.

Paula I will not tell him that until after the surgery. Do not want him to chicken out!

Karen I tweaked mine a few months ago. I was out of the gym for almost 2 weeks! Get better soon.

We picked up the grand dog Moxie and added her to our 4 for a walk in the park. There were quite a few others out walking also. Hardly any wind. 35 degrees and sunny. It was beautiful. Barney did not do to bad. Not great by anyone's imagination but not bad. We walked and carried the two older dogs a lot for about 45 minutes. Went to the laundry mat and washed out heavy down comforter. Not to busy. Now all I need to do is a load of laundry and a large water change.

You guys gotta quit messing up your backs. Don't make me use my Grandma voice here. I will, you know.

Shelley that's a lot of puppies to be walking! Good job! California prices are a bit on the crazy side. Our city is a lot lower that the city next door. Crazy! Hope you find what you want and then retire!

My doc said he had a patient that had a very similar back problem to mine. She had surgery three years ago and only has to take one pain pill a day. I know it won't get rid of all the pain, but is it reduces it any, that would be great! I would love to get off the pain meds. I don't like them.

Had lunch w/two friends today. Had potato soup that I will NEVER HAVE AGAIN...EVER!!!!

Hoping to walk in a little while. It is beautiful out there.

    189.6 today

Chris you all right! This back thing is cramping my style LOL! It's pretty cold here so I took advantage of taking my mom to the mall to get some clothes and did a bunch of walking. That felt good to stretch my back out. She also got some really cute things and I got a new piece of luggage.

I decided to start a Sunday family dinner every other month at my house. I am always the one who hosts all the holidays (which is a really long story.) But my brother just had a baby and I don't see my nephew's enough so I figured why not feed people and they will come. And you know that works :-) so yesterday was our first dinner and my friend from Canada was in town too. We did Italian ... it was easy. Italian on st. Patty's Day pretty funny right? But Mom and I made meatballs the day before put them in the Crock-Pot, I made a big baked ziti...salad. I did really well with the eating. A couple of meatballs , some brussel sprouts some salad and I was good :-)

    Have a good Monday!

Chris the prices for homes are always nuts! I am not in a hurry. I will just keep looking until something surprises me. I also hate pain meds. They make me feel awful. I ordered an onion soup once that I will never ever have again. Yuch!

Karen we host most of the dinner parties at my home also. My son only comes over when we do or when he needs something. It is awful! My daughter will do some also. Our yard is really nice for the summer gatherings. Lots of seating and flowers. But indoors not so much. But getting to know the next generation is very fun.

Well tomorrow Rocky has his surgery. So I probably will not be on here. He will be spending one night at the hospital. And I promise to not pick him up and hurt my back Chris!

146 or 147 or something this morning. Doesn't really matter since it's just bouncing around in the same range for a couple weeks now. The evening munchies are gone though.

You grlz quit messing ur bodies, they are serious style-crampers for warriors like us.

That said, my back's been tweaking a little too, probably stress. I tried out that gym and they started with this thing where you lie on your back and roll a hard rubber ball around under ur shoulder blade. Felt just like some sadistic finger-digging-in masseuse - it was great. The pain went away and didn't come back. Must've hit the knot in the muscle and broke it up.

    Take care all!

p.s. I drove 4 RT hours to Vacaville Friday (couldn't connect with Chris, not quite close enough) and 7 RT hours to Fresno Saturday. Why's it so exhausting to be sitting in a car, bouncing to tunes, chugging coffee and singing off-tune. Slept all day Sunday and still gassed today.

Amazing tattoo artist in Fresno is going to do my first professional tat on April Fools Day. He's gonna add golden scales and rainbow fur to my little pixie dragon (my drawing, below).

Shelley, I hope Rocky did well with his surgery. I know he did. He's tough. Is your current house a two story?

Paula, I love your dragon!! We'll need pics, of course. I'm bouncing btn the same two numbers...***sigh*** So happy for you that you got that knot under your shoulder blade. Mine keeps scootin' away from everybody trying to squish it.

Shelley, it turns out the med my doc took me off really helps now that I've started it up again. Did I mention how much I dislike taking medicine?

Karen, what's your nephew's name? When was he born? Is he driving, yet, or is he more into skateboards? Does your brother live far from you?

We are trying to get the kids over this weekend to have a "Chill Day" for them. Make salad and soup and go for a walk or watch a movie and play cards...or just hang out together. DDD needs one.

Working to find a new soup. Everyone liked the last chili I made, but I'm not crazy about ground beef so it's time to look at new recipes which means a new cookbook!! ;) So gotta go now.

Paula is that an original drawing by you? It is awesome. Photos will be needed.

Chris there is a basement in our current home. The laundry is there. And I would love to have a larger bathroom. I do love my home though mostly. I am glad to see you are trying out soups again. So like you. :)

Rocky was in surgery for 2 hours. He has been up twice walking so far. He should be able to come home tomorrow.

WOW! MFP has gone a little crazy this morning! Anyway...

Shelley, how is Rocky today? Sounds like he did really well!!

146.0 This morning at 5:00. I'll take it!

We get the boys in a little bit here and get to play the morning away. Then we'll have Ronan this afternoon for a couple of hours while SIL coached rugby and DDD finishes up at school.

Made a goulash w/noodles last night. Turned out pretty good. Needs more beef broth but that's an easy fix. Got the sodium really low. DH liked it!! I'll think about the tweeks...olives, maybe...but so much salt... :p I'll keep working on it.

Chris there is a lot of sodium in them delicious little oives. :# Sounds like you and the boys had fun. :)

Rocky is home and doing well. He is in a lot of pain of course. I spent over an hour getting his scripts filled. I was bored waiting for them to be ready. So I grabbed 4 bunches of flowers for him also. Two were roses and two were carnations. There were a few other flowers also. I made 2 arrangements out of them. He loves them. I should have got some yellow roses also. Rocky I is doing as good as expected.

I'm so happy for Rocky! Getting him flowers was so sweet of you, Shelley! Flowers make a huge difference in how a person feels. I do flowers for Nick every week and get enough to put in the kitchen. They are a mood changer for sure.

145.6 this morning at 5:00. Man!! I hope that's a true number. Would be nice to go down some. This bouncing around gives me a headache. :D

Have a appt w/a new doc today. Nothing to do with the arthritis...but a cyst my reg doc saw in the x-rays. Will keep you posted. So far everything else has checked out okay...no worries. This is the last thing that has to get checked.

This is going to be a great day!

    Chris
