Shelley - glad Rocky is on the mend...that's great news!
Chris- glad your goulash was good :-) I'm a huge fan. I've eaten my weight in goulash when I travel to Hungry :-) it's the best :-)
Paula - so excited to hear more about you are tattoo! How awesome. I don't have any tattoos but I love henna and I'm learning how to do henna art. I've taken a couple of classes and my daughter thinks it's cool on some days :-) but then again she's 13.
Crazy week at work. So glad tomorrow is Friday!0 -
Chris you are right about the flowers. They bring spring into the house everyday. I know you had your great day! So I remember Ronan wearing Nicks hat awhile back. Do you think Ronan looks anything like Nick did? Glad it is only a cyst. I have had a couple in the past. Hope it is small. I
Helped get Rocky cleaned up today. He said he felt human again after that!We had a number of friends come by to wish him well. So nice of them. He has physical therapy in the morning.

180.8 this morning. Good morning ladies. I’ve stayed away trying to deal with this weight gain. I know it’s caused by the new meds but I still haven’t decided how to best adjust. I don’t see my endocrinologist until July but if the gain continues I’m going in early to request something new. In the meantime I need to work harder exercise wise and really watch what I eat. I’ve come to far to let this overwhelm me. I know what I need to do. And staying away from this group is not the answer. It’s just seeing 180 again was so upsetting. I was so close to getting out of the 170s.
My bff and I are going to Nashville for a long weekend...have a concert on Sunday. She’s promised to walk with me all over the city sightseeing so hopefully this is the start of reaching my new goal. Reaching 150 by year end. But in the meantime I need to get back to 172 which was my lowest weight before the new med.
Shelley - I hope Rocky is doing better. I’m ready for spring flowers as well. The foliage on the Lillie’s are looking wonderful.
Chris - how’s the back? And that cutie pie Ronan.
Paula - I’ve always wanted a tattoo but too chicken. Hope you’re well.
Karen - I know how those crazy weeks at work can be...hang in!
Ladies I promise to catch up on your posts. No more waddling...it doesn’t help.
Have an excellent weekend!
Kathy
BTW I completed my retirement application yesterday. Time to put it in the system. My tentative date is May 31st. My 60th birthday is May 26th. Still taking those swimming lessons.

145.8 this morning at 5:00. I like it.
Kathy, I have trouble losing the weight because of my meds, too. Go back to your doc and get them changed up. You have come a mighty long way to have it blocked by some tiny, little white pill. Your doc will work with you, esp if she's been with you on your weight loss journey. Getting back in your red wagon is a big plus, and I'm totally proud of you for coming back. You got this and know that we are here for you.
I have to go get R&B now. I'll be back later.

Thank you Karen. Rocky and I will be celebrating our 40th anniversary this summer. It will be mostly pain free for him now.
Karen congratulations! This is a bit step for you. I hope you do to see your doctor soon. Weight gain effects our mental health. So this is not good! And I am so glad that you are still swimming! What a great way to get to your 150 goal! Who are you seeing in concert? I enjoy all types of music. Even some blues. But mostly I like songs that speak to my soul, make me want to dance or lift heavy weights. Lol, see, I like a lot of different musics. And bagpipes. I used to sing Tammys in love from the movie when I was a little girl.
Shelley0 -
Kathy, congratulations on submitting your retirement letter. You are going to have a blast retired! You'll be traveling everywhere! Swimming is the best exercise. Wish I liked the water. Pretty funny that I don't since I'm a Pisces! Are you still playing tennis??
I like music I can understand and can dance to, too. I love the blues and country. We went to the Scottish Festival every year up to two years ago. They changed the location and we couldn't make it work. When we were going, it was a lot about the bagpipes, rugby and the food. Ah, the food!!
Karen, folks in Hungry would probably frown at my version of goulash but it is really good. I have to add season salt and cheese, but my sweet husband can eat it. There is practically no salt at all in it. He has gotten use to his No Salt way of eating, and his vertigo is well under control. He can tell right away if he's had too much salt. Sometimes when we celebrate a b'day or holiday we'll get Mexican food and that can be dangerous.
Shelley do you and Rocky have plans for your 40th anniversary? Pat and I will be celebrating 36 years in July. We'll probably order Mexican food to be delivered...and spend it with DDD, SIL, Ronan and Bean. We used to drink beer but no more...**sigh**
Going flower shopping after we go sign our tax papers.
Later, my friends.

I was totally surprised this morning...at 5:00 I was 142.6...at 8:45 (when I really got outta bed) I was 141.8. A drop of 3.2 or 4.0?? Crimeny!! I double checked my scale...it started out at zero. I made sure there wasn't a little elf under the scale pushing it up when I stepped on. I won't do a happy dance until tomorrow. You all know what could happen. Wow!!
My list today includes grocery shopping, getting flowers going by the niche, and going to the post office. A fun day ahead!!! I hope everyone has a lot of fun today.
Chris1 -
Wow, Chris. you're almost in the 130's! I'd better hustle to catch up!
I broke 145 today (144.7) so heading in the right direction. Seem to have the eating under control. Now need to work on the drinking.
Karen, Those henna tattoos can be gorgeous. What a fun thing to do with your daughter!
Kathy, I agree that it'd be nice if you could switch meds. Good luck with the walking. Walking is so fun!
Shell, I'd love to see you dance!

Hi Shelley we are seeing Pabo Bryson and Jeffrey Osbourne, two of my favorite R & B singers ai the Schermerhorn Synphony tonight. I love all types of music as well. Nashville is amazing and we toured Music Row. We are headed home tomorrow morning. We’ve walked a lot sightseeing and also had some good meals but also a couple of adult beverages. Now it’s time to do what I need to do to work on my goals.
Yes I’m stilll taking my swimming lessons and spring tennis started a couple of weeks ago. I should have my first doubles match next Sunday.
What are your plans for your 40th? Hope Rocky’s well and y’all can do something fun!

Same numbers this morning!!!...142.6 at 5:00 and 141.8 at 7:30. HAPPY! HAPPY! Now, just gotta keep doing whatever it is I'm doing. I haven't had this kind of a loss since I was really heavy. Hoping tomorrow is the same or better.
DDD is on Spring Break, so we get to sleep in all week!! Well, except, maybe Wednesday when we have to go to the spine doc. The appt is 1:30, but I'm pretty sure I'll be up early.
We'll get Ronan this afternoon so the kids can see a movie. I got him a new shirt. Maybe I can get a pic to show you guys. He's so darn fun!
Gotta go now.
Chris2 -
Happy Monday ladies. Not at all happy with the scale today @ 191.6 Too many events this weekend that clearly had too many options for food. Lots of salty stuff as well...so water water water. Had 2 charity events that were great fun and raised a lot of money. And I can say...even though I am not where I want to be, I felt really good in my skin on Saturday night at the Casino Night (thanks to a cute dress and some excellent Spanx
I haven't felt that in a while truth be told since I've gained some back. Here's a pic. Hubby on the left, me in the blue dress, my Sis in black and her hubby on the right.
I keep trucking. Just looked at my calendar for the week and should be able to get 5 maybe 6 days of exercise in. #slowandsteadswinstherace
Enjoy the day!

Passing on a podcast that I really love called "Weight Loss Made Real". I've been listening to these for a while on my commutes (I commute an hour each way) and find them super useful. Just listened to one about stopping emotional eating at night....which sometimes sucks me in after an exhausting day. Pretty helpful to figure out a plan to stop it. So here's the link for more info if interested! https://realweightlossrealwomen.com/0

I love your dress, Karen! Great picture! I'll have a listen to your pod cast when I get a chance.
I used to commute an hour each way to work and that was leaving the house before traffic got bad at 5:30 a.m.. If I left any later it would take two hours easy to pull into the parking lot. Couldn't do it. Too much stop and go, and I'd get car sick. blaaaa!
Happy this morning...142.4 at 5:00 and 141.4 at 8:30 when we got up.I love sleeping in!!
Have a workout w/our trainer at 11:00 this morning, so I must get going. Must wash the sleep off my face.
Have a great day, my friends. I love you guys!!
Chris0 -
147 for me this morning. I'm not gaining, but just can't kick those last ten.
Chris, Congratulation - so happy for you!!!
Karen, beautiful picture!

Congratulations Chris!0

Thank you, ladies! It's been a very, very long time getting here. Hope it lasts.
142.4 at 5:00 and 141.2 at 8:30 this morning.
Well, it turns out the appt I had w/the spine doc was way, way far away. It wasn't at the Kaiser we thought it was supposed to be at. My pain doc said it was a mistake. We got it cancelled and a new appt (May 3rd) at the right place with an excellent doc according to my pain doc. Only problem is that it messes w/SIL's work schedule, but he's just going to have to deal with it. At least we didn't drive out tomorrow to where we thought it was going to be just to be told the spine doc was waiting for us way far away at another facility. Embarrassing.
But worse than that...my coffee pot died in the middle of a brew cycle this morning. I thought I hadn't set it up last night, so I cleaned out the carafe, filled it with water and poured it in the coffee maker until it overflowed and was sending water everywhere...disaster! Then I picked up the coffee maker to carry it to the sink and almost dropped it because it was heavy and hurt my back and spine and legs!!! DH lectured me about carrying things too heavy for me now. **sigh** Cleaned up the flooded counter and floor then we went to Target and got a new coffee pot.
The kids are coming over later, and we'll get some Ronan-time!
Later, my friends.

Chris that really would have sucked. I am so hopeful for you. Great weight loss. Doing awesome! Hugs!
Paula awesome loss. Keep going! Love those photos. Beautiful scenery is so inspiring!
Karen beautiful dress! And you are lovely!
Kathy I wish I could be with you. It sounds wonderful! Have fun and think of me at least once.
I took the kids for their walk Sunday. Barney is doing better on walks. On a leash of course. He is worse at home. Resource guarding! There was a hot air balloon right over the park. Making that noise they make. While it was lovely and even landed in the parking lot it scared Libby Lu! Had to carry her for most of our 45 minute walk!
Rocky is getting slowly better. I did get a note from the doctor for a 3 month handicap permit. I will pick up the permit tomorrow.
Hey who is going to the new Dumbo movie? I hope it is fun.
Took my son in to have a tooth pulled that abscessed. The dentist got it started and had to quit. Stitched him up and referred him to a specialist. He has a lot of infection and really twisted roots. Sadly he will have to wait a while to get it pulled now. Made the consultation appointment for next Tuesday.
Well headed to bed. Weights tomorrow.

147.5 still bouncing in 145-148. So wanna ditch that stubborn 5-10!!!! My tummy isn't as flat as it's s'posed to be. ((pout pout pout)) silly girl...

181.2 this morning. When I returned from Nashville I was 183.4. I made the decision to stop taking the medicine. I researched on google and discovered one of the side effects is “unexplained weight gain”. That was enough for me...no more. And I feel so much better.ive also had these flashibbf headaches...another side effect. Allied the endo office to inform them. Don’t know if she will prescribe something else or not.
But ultimately we’re responsible for our own health care and I refuse to take something that is detrimental to my health. This will mean monitoring my diet even closer and more exercise but that will be a good thing. Already down 2.2.
BTW I loved Nashville and would go back. Beautiful symphony center and so much to see around the city.
Have a great day ladies!
Kathy2 -
Good goings, Kathy! Take care of yourself.
Bouncing, bouncing, Paula. My tummy needs to go too.
142.0 at 5:00 and 141.2 at 7:30. Having a Coffee Date w/my sweet Darling Doctor Daughter this morning. Must go get cleaned up.
Bye!
Chris1 -
Good job, Kathy!
145.5 bounce today.
Chris, enjoy your DDD!!!
paula2 -
You know yourself best Kathy!
Had a great workout at lunch today. Feels so good to be doing weights more routinely. I fell out of it, but am loving getting back in!
Just heard it was going to be 70 on Saturday here in PA....want to go for a hike maybe!1 -
142.4 at 5:00 and 141.4 at 8:00.
Coffee w/DDD was fun! We all went to the book store this morning. That was fun. Going over to DDD's house for an hour this evening to watch Ronan. She has an appt and SIL won't be home yet. We are going to fill in the gap.
Trying to finish my current book so I can get on to what I just bought! Hope you all are having a fun Thursday.
Chris2 -
Had a good day here too. The Emergency Response exercise this morning was a nice break from implementing a new finance software system. Very intense right now, exhausting. And there are piles of paper, emails and voicemails from everyone who is on hold.
144.5 this morning.
paula1 -
Paula - hoping your software implementation goes well :-) those can always be so dicey. I just been through a year-and-a-half of disconnecting from my old company and reconnecting to my new company after the acquisition. The final disconnecting date is this Sunday March 31st. So everybody's praying that April Fool's Day is not a joke! We shall see :-) You've have done a fantastic job not letting this get to your weight :-) great work!
Weighed 188.4 this morning. Yeah! Last time I was at that weight was December so that feels good. I think I figured out a couple of things that have kept me from losing weight. So I need to just keep doing those things. I don't want to jinx myself oh, so I'm just going to Keep On Truckin and see what happens. I will get to six days of exercise this week which feels fantastic. I haven't done that in a really long time.
Hope everyone has an awesome Friday!
1 -
179.2 this morning! Yeah...out of the 180s...again!!!
I hit the button. I’m looking at a May 31st retirement. So looking forward to doing what I want, when I want!I turn 60 on May 26th...I thought May 31 was the perfect date to leave.
Happy Friday!
Kathy1 -
Everybody's doing so well, yay!!!
144.5 for me today. I think corking the whiskey has helped.
Luv to y'all!
paula1 -
What Paula said^^^ everyone is doing a great job. Let's keep doing it.
142.6 at 5:00 and 141.0 at 9:00 ...yeah we slept until 9:00 this morning! Soooo cool! Think I should cut out the Fat Boys. Yeah...not good for me.
Working out w/our trainer at noon today. Must go get cleaned up.
Tomorrow I'll be retired 4 years!! Waiting for Kathy to join me.
Love you all!
Chris

Paula I am glad you are corking that stuff. Not good for getting rid of the tummy.
Kathy Nashville sounds wonderful. And retirement right after your birthday is the best! So glad you are working out more.
I have gotten Rocky out walking a little. Bought some really nice cushions for the patio chairs with him. That was about as much as he could do.
Shelley0 -
187.4 this morning. Happy to see it continue to go down. 118 pounds lost total
I'm figuring this out.
Kathy - How exciting for you that you can see retirement. Let the countdown begin! I have always wanted to go to Nashville. Was going to do it with 2 of my girlfriends until Lauren got breast cancer (she's doing well TG)...so we said we would reschedule. I hear the food is amazing (of course my head always goes to food.)
Paula - I am on a booze hiatus too. I know it is part of the reason for my gain...so laying off. Instead...I'm drinking diet tonic in my fancy crystal goblet with fresh lemon. As soon as it is warm enough for me to do my potted herb garden, I will have basil. Love it in my tonic. Pretending there is gin in thereSo for me...I certainly don't need those extra calories from alcohol, and it really impacts my challenge with eating at night. My willpower gets shaken, I am exhausted from such a long day, and I eat when I'm not hungry. So for now....trying to keep it in check.
A little worried as I have 2 work trips coming up. One week in Belgium (2nd week of April), and a week in Toronto (last week in April.) Need to do some planning on how I will manage. Will probably pack a lot of healthy food supplies! I have time
So off to see a performance of Mama Mia. My friend is the director and his high school does fantastic productions. Looking forward to it. I know my Bella will love it .
Have a great Saturday Gals!
