Late night, busy after work, but got walk in before having to go out (results of daughters career testing).
Daughters current school had a careers testing (being 15 and 2 years before the end of high school). This assesses personality, interests and aptitudes. Quite comprehensive (far more than we ever had when I was at school). She is, broadly speaking, an ENFJ with abstract reasoning off the charts and high verbal skills. Ideally suited to acting, communicating, teaching, caring. This is perfectly in line with what we were expecting.
This also re-enforces the "lack of fit" with the student body as few of her ideal career paths require great school results. The staff and teachers are fantastic, definitely worth the money. It just she has no in-school social group (and for this style of extrovert at her age, this makes school like torture).
Problem is that changing schools has no guarantee at solving this problem.
Our main focus for our daughter is to ensure she get the right method to complete the school system. This way she can find a vocation that she can thrive at. Which will then allow her to be independent and productive in society.
@RangerRickL. Love NSV days and hearing how others have changed and succeeded.
My NSV is that I recently had tonsillitis, something that would stop me for about 5 days at least. By the time I got to see a doctor, 3 days after the first symptoms, it was completely gone. I credit this to being in great shape from the habits I learned from UAC.10 -
Yes x 3. Exercise was a 20min interval jog/walk.
Loved reading all the NSV’s. I think mine is just how much I’m enjoying being “back on track”. No fear that I might fail to get to goal because I’m loving the process. This group is part of that.8 -

NSV- bought sandles that fit. This is a big deal because my feet have been to wide to fit into them.
My clothes are fiting looser.
My stomach as shrunk. Causing me to get fuller faster.11 -

Love reading everyone's NSVs. Always so motivating and inspirational.
For me, I've had a number of people comment on my weight loss/health over the last week or two. A pair of pants that were a tiny bit too tight the last time I wore them are almost too loose now. I ate sensibly at our catered staff meeting yesterday, despite not knowing what would be served. (Free food and uncertainty have definitely not combined well for me in the past, lol.) I skipped the breakfast pastries I knew wouldn't be as good as I wanted them to be and saved up for a dessert at lunch. I even split the brownie in half because the pieces were huge, and ended up not quite finishing it because it was so rich. (This would have been utterly unheard of for old me.) I feel like I've really progressed in terms of being adaptable to make this a change that I can sustain, and that makes me really happy.13 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 1 hour walk before the rain and 15 minutes low impact aerobics
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, on target with room to spare
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
@BonnieHosk85 So very proud of your determination to avoid those donuts
@ShareASmile Pleased you are enjoying the camaraderie of this group. We are all like minded with each of our goals to simply be the best version of our self. Some days are better than others, but any day we "show up" is a win regardless of the outcome!
@windowqueen2003 Wishing you the best with the purchase offer on your prospective new home.
@am_change Happy Belated Birthday...my brother's b-day is also 5/13. It is a joy to follow your journey on UAC. You are one determined mom-to-be!
My NSV is that today is my 31st day of logging in since we returned from vacation mid-April. I also, recently, bought a dress for an upcoming wedding in July. Fits perfectly on this 5'6" 115 pound 68 year old Granny...and is also quite trendy!
Will add my two cents worth, at this mid-month check point, which applies to both weight loss and maintenance. In addition to making good nutritional choices when eating, I also try very hard to "keep it simple." I like recipes just as much as the next person...but so very often the recipes we spend hours preparing are what sabotage our plans and good intentions. Eating an apple is a good choice, apple pie...not so much. Having a simple potato is just fine (there's nothing wrong with starch), but scalloped potatoes, potatoes au gratin or loaded baked potato is probably not the best choice. Shrimp is always a great option for protein, but deep fried or coconut shrimp compromises overall nutritional value. Grilled chicken would be the wiser choice over chicken parmesan. A piece of chocolate never hurts, but that triple chocolate meltdown or molten chocolate lava cake is probably not a good idea. The concept of keeping it simple is easy and much less time consuming than preparing recipes...and the bonus is that food prep and cleanup in the kitchen is even faster and easier. That's a "win" for me as, after 46 years of marriage, the less time I spend in the kitchen, the better I like it.14 -
May 15- Pass Day 3
I'm in trouble now! Sometimes I have very long work days with high priority issues and today was one of them.7 -

Exercise: 28 minutes (headache, tired, so took care of myself)
Deficit of 37 calories

NSV!!! My favorite day!! I loved reading all of your’s!
Being calm & mindful in my 20 days of official maintenance so far...not overreacting, fueling my body - not starving it
Exercising harder & also listening when I need to cut back a little
Arms are now muscular (legs & flutes were earlier) I figured out today!! I love to wrap my hand around d & squeeze them - they feel so good!
My rings finally got loose enough that I’m concerned I’ll lose them!
Creating art every day - learning, exploring, helping build a few communities of creatives (one at my art studio).. enjoying, smiling
I now have my third art student, but this one for pay. I actually got a few tears in my eyes when this was finalized, when I realized it’s what I’ve always wanted to do❣️

Exercise: Nah, besides normal walking around the house, cooking for an hour, and nightly stretches I didn't exercise. Just been sluggish and trying to come out of another depression. Got a huge sunburn on my back and it hurts so much to lift my arms and lay on my back so i gotta wait for that to go down before i can workout properly but tomorrow I plan on taking a long walk and gonna at least try to focus on lower body exercises lol

NSV for me was restarting mid-month after slipping up early in the month. Typically I’d slip up a few days, see the holiday coming at the end of the month and just tell myself I’d restart June 1st.

I fell off the grid for a few days! We were out of town visiting family over the weekend. I’m trying to get in the swing of this maintenance thing. I won’t track food forever but for now I still need to! Yesterday was yes x3 - strength training. Today was yes x3 - a 5km walk/run.
NSV this month is that my husband and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary on the 5th. Every few years I pull out my wedding dress for fun. It was an expensive dress so I might as well get some use out of it! It is a very fitted dress and was custom tailored to my body 12 years and 3 kids ago. The last time I pulled it out, it did not fit... this year it did and I felt great in it!
I’m also excited about seeing some definition in my arms even when I’m not flexing.10 -
3 X’s Yes!
My exercise was opening night of the farmers market I manage, setting up tents, hauling tables. Lap after lap of checking in with farmers.
I got a second NSV too, one of my farmers didn’t recognize me!

@MadisonMolly2017, congrats on your "paying" student. That's great!
@peachpastries, try putting vinegar on your sunburn. It will really help, but you will smell like a pickle.

Loved reading everyone’s NSV’s! What a fun idea! My NSV is simply feeling BETTER. Mentally and physically. Not seeing a big difference in the mirror yet but I feel so much better than I did a month ago!7 -

calories: under budget

Nsv: Actually wanting to work out! In fact this morning I was cramping and couldn’t work out so when I dropped of my students to lunch and recess I got my workout in! Locked my classroom door and got my 30 mins in! Then we had a family night at our school and I played a round of laser tag. Then went grocery shopping for a few things then got home and took my dogs on a 25 min walk. No way would I have the energy to do all that 65 days ago. Also I’ve been vegan for 65 days! I’ll NEVER go back.
Exercised: P90X3 agility x, laser tag at our schools family event

Best day of the month!
It is however my third pass day, due to national cookie day.
Great NSV from boot camp this morning, two of them. Ive seen visible progress in three weeks while trying to do chin ups. Im doing an assisted variation with my knee perched on a tight resistance band... Slow but steady progress. Ill take it! Then today when putting the 45lb barbell away on the rack, i was weirded out by how light it felt, and easy it was to move it around the gym. "OH! Cause im getting stronger"
I have only NSV for the past
2 months. Totally great, but Im long past due for a SV. My composition shows progress, but im not being as diciplined with cardio and probably need to lower (stick to!) calories to see the scale move. Awesome thing about MFP and this group is that it makes it plain to see the numbers and reasons why the scale hasnt moved. (EI, blips like national cookie day) Onward!6
