"Willpower!!" is that the missing element in your thoughtful healthy habit toolbox? Some folks lay guilt on you because you don't have enough will power. Not so fast, here is a link to a short article on why will power is not your missing piece...click here https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/diet-nutrition/a26409428/willpower-diet-myth-explained/5

That was the read I needed over my morning coffee, thank you!2 -
@RangerRick. Good read!
"Lack of willpower usually boils down to three major reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with a bag of potato chips or whatever else seems irresistible to you personally: you're dehydrated, you've skipped or shortchanged a meal, or you're not getting enough sleep. Address those first, and you're in better shape to take on the rest of the day."
I have found this to be so true for me. What was particularly problematic, was having an off day and then restricting intake the next couple of days to "make up" for it ... which just set up the next slip. I have learned, instead to just look at what happened (dispasdionately!), figure out why, and go back to normal (plan) eating instead. As a result, the occasional off days no longer lead to more days or a binge-restrict cycle.5 -
Outstanding read today @RangerRickL. A very common sense approach empowering the individual that we can all feel good about.1

Another day bites the dust.
Today felt kinda normal, which is nice! I got home from work and did a workout so I knew my exercise was in. I logged everything and stayed under my cals.
1/3 passes used.6 -
Track: yes
Excerise : no, recovery day.
Budget: under
I was hungry last night, didn’t sleep well, it messed up my day today as I felt so tired all day. I was in bed 30m ago feeling very hungry. Then I went to the kitchen, instead of munching away usual snacks, I ate a bowl 200g cabbage and a cup of tea! Just enough to fill my stomach and fool my brain 🧠 till I fall alsleep, and the good thing is that I am still under budget since cabbage is a high fibre low carb snack!9 -
Well July 8th will be a pass!
After my really nice co-worker came back from lunch and told me she was thinking of me and handed my a pretty pink box with the name CRUMBL on it. The box was hot and smelled divine and contained the largest just baked cookie I have ever seen. That cookie was almost 600 calories!!!!! As it sat at my desk I couldn't help but keep picking at it all day. I just gave up by the time I got home. I did exercise though the day

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. My workout today was cleaning and vacuuming the stairs and upstairs, making beds, etc. in preparation for my brother and his family who will be arriving from St. Louis tomorrow. We have a family reunion on Saturday for which I am saving a pass day. Tomorrow's workout will be cleaning and vacuuming the downstairs.

Just read the willpower article nice, I have lost almost 40lbs in 3 years and have had my ups and downs weight wise but I have been able to stay within my target weight by about 5 lbs. Each day is a new chance and a new opportunity to make wise food choices this article reinforces wise choices and I believe in eating “real” food no fake stuff6

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes my Tuesday night Zumba class! After a year I’ve finally got the moves down so I can focus more on arms and technique and really pushing through - it’s too easy in Zumba to baby step your way through it I’m always sweating in the end!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes even had enough extra for a McDs ice cream cone tonight!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes... lately I’ve felt very hungry and physically off — wondering if I’m cutting to far under my calorie goal each day. It’s making the scale move but just feeling a little off. Anyone ever get sluggish like that? MFP hasn’t said I’m too far under calorie intake yet but the tummy is almost always grumbly 😂6 -
