@VHuber - Are you sure the thorn didn't cause an infection in your leg? Don't sit on that too long.
It must have but you would think the cipro for the bladder infection would clear it up but I tell ya today it throbbed & it looks like a steam burn. We'll see how it looks on Monday. Needless to say the only @SS moving I got today was from at work which was moving. I rarely sit down. I hot packed it when I got home.

@vhuber - I know it's not in your nature, but sometimes your body needs a rest and if you don't listen it makes you listen. Be good to yourself.

Some infections are resistant to certain antibiotics and not all antibiotics fight the same bugs. Redness and swelling are not good and you really should get it checked before Monday. Please.

Vhuber: Don’t let that knee go.You may have received a bite or bacterial infection. My hubby developed staph in his knee from kneeling on it while weeding. Over night, he woke with swelling, redness and a fever. Please get it checked.

I'm going to the emergency room tomorrow because over the weekend it got real bad. I have to go to another town for care cuz our town is terrible. Was going to see my dr. in the city but she's out so I'll just go to ER.

Good. Not that it got worse, but that you're getting it checked. Keep us updated.

2.5 miles before and during Boot Camp.

My trainer asked if I wanted to do one more next week, since she's still kind of wrapping things up - today's her first day of the new job. I eventually agreed, but since I was in the mindset of it being done and said my "thanks for everything" speech last week, it was a little awkward.

Took advantage of my day off from hell and the decent weather and got in a 2.4 mile walk. My Runkeeper app was off by 2/10 of a mile, but it was one of the routes I know well. It can't fool me!

Well kids! I'm in the hospital. They are treating me with severe cellulitis. Had blood drawn, xray of the knee & after deadening stuff they lanced it and drained it. Must say it was NOT a fun experience. Good thing I have a strong pain intolerance but it did hurt. With the 4 IV's with antibiotics I've been hopping one legged to the toilet & the nurses said dang girl you are in shape!! They say I'm in for 3 days but I hoping I spring back miraculously & can be out sooner. Its been a stress filled day with school starting back up, special orders needed placed & state food trucks coming in. I had planned a simple lunch this week that would be cool so we didn't need the ovens on so I'm HOPING the sub can handle it!
I'm thinking I won't be making goal. I'll see what this weekend looks like & use the ex bike.

@VHuber - I was afraid of that. Usually once you lance those they feel better. However, Cellulitis can cause so much swelling in the tissues that as you take pressure off some of the tissue, it points out you hurt somewhere else. Cipro is a gram negative antibiotic. Since most bladder infections are E. coli or Klebsiella, it's a good bladder antibiotic. (FYI, not E. Coli 0157:H7). However, most infections picked up from the garden or thorns or such are gram positive or anaerobic infections. Until they get a culture and sensitivity back (they should have run one) they will hammer with broad spectrum and anaerobic antibiotics. Hope that has you feeling better soon.

@vhuber I'm so glad you got it checked out. It'll take a few days for the antibiotics to do their thing. As the women's health nurse, might be a good idea to get a prescription for diflucan before they discharge you. Antibiotics can mess up your good flora leading to some pesky girl issues, if you know what I mean. Good to have just in case.

WOW! A lot of activity since I was here last! Congratulations go out to @KAR328 and @KARID1114!! :star:

@VHUBER - So sorry you're in the hospital, but very glad you decided to go get your knee checked out! Cellulitis is nothing to mess around with any more than some other infections. Here's hoping you heal quickly. :flowerforyou:
