However, remember what they would do if they were here and saw you with the broken heart. They would put their head in your lap to let you know it will be OK. They would pick up their ball to try to make you smile. They give their all to make us happy. They take all the good and the bad we have to offer and give us unquestioned love in return. They are everything we wish we could be. So on those days when you are hurting, remember what they would want. Tip your glass of your favorite beverage in their honor and force a smile so they can smile back from where they wait to see us again.
Thank you, Dean. I had a Keeshond, Brandy. I saw her born and I cried. She died 14 years later and I cried. She was the best dog ever.

@Dean: Thanks for the wonderful words. Well said. Yesterday, we received a card with lovely personal notes about Finn and how special he was to them. One gal now uses the dehydrated chicken snack we gave Finn for her own dog because we introduced it to her.it was very touching and tearful. We came to love the safe as part of our extended family.
@Kar: I know that good things are in store for you. Sometimes our biggest disappointments are hidden gems in disguise. Sometimes doors have to close in order for other doors to open,1 -

I did not go out for any miles yesterday. After my day on my feet (on cement floors) at school I came home & had to clean house & strip beds for "possible" over night guests. But I ended up with a quiet house instead. My grandsons went home & I must say I miss them already! Besides tired I have a bladder infection that should have been medicated some time back but I never know I have one till its bad (like blood in my urine)! I also have something (I'm thinking a thistle) under my skin on my right knee from pulling weeds in garden that has caused it to swell from the knee down & is hot and painful. Yes I know I'm a wreck... but I gotta keep going!! Tonight Georgie & I walked 3.5 miles.

@VHuber - Are you sure the thorn didn't cause an infection in your leg? Don't sit on that too long.1
