@VHuber - I was afraid of that. Usually once you lance those they feel better. However, Cellulitis can cause so much swelling in the tissues that as you take pressure off some of the tissue, it points out you hurt somewhere else. Cipro is a gram negative antibiotic. Since most bladder infections are E. coli or Klebsiella, it's a good bladder antibiotic. (FYI, not E. Coli 0157:H7). However, most infections picked up from the garden or thorns or such are gram positive or anaerobic infections. Until they get a culture and sensitivity back (they should have run one) they will hammer with broad spectrum and anaerobic antibiotics. Hope that has you feeling better soon.

In Florida checking on my house. Way too hot and humid to run but I went for a bike ride. I'm at 71/75.

@vhuber I'm so glad you got it checked out. It'll take a few days for the antibiotics to do their thing. As the women's health nurse, might be a good idea to get a prescription for diflucan before they discharge you. Antibiotics can mess up your good flora leading to some pesky girl issues, if you know what I mean. Good to have just in case.

Well kids! I'm in the hospital. They are treating me with severe cellulitis. Had blood drawn, xray of the knee & after deadening stuff they lanced it and drained it. Must say it was NOT a fun experience. Good thing I have a strong pain intolerance but it did hurt. With the 4 IV's with antibiotics I've been hopping one legged to the toilet & the nurses said dang girl you are in shape!! They say I'm in for 3 days but I hoping I spring back miraculously & can be out sooner. Its been a stress filled day with school starting back up, special orders needed placed & state food trucks coming in. I had planned a simple lunch this week that would be cool so we didn't need the ovens on so I'm HOPING the sub can handle it!
I'm thinking I won't be making goal. I'll see what this weekend looks like & use the ex bike.

I hope you get feeling better soonest! Sending hugs and good thoughts your way <3<3

WOW! A lot of activity since I was here last! Congratulations go out to @KAR328 and @KARID1114!! :star:

@VHUBER - So sorry you're in the hospital, but very glad you decided to go get your knee checked out! Cellulitis is nothing to mess around with any more than some other infections. Here's hoping you heal quickly. :flowerforyou:

Not good news. My culture test came back & the infection is MRSA. They surgically opened it, flushed it & vacuumed it out. It feels real good. I just have to have major antibiotics intraveniously for a couple of more days. I'm hoping I can do this at my home town. Below the knee is swollen still but I don't hurt at all. I will not be adding miles for who knows when, but my knee is a little more important right? LOL

Adding 13.02 for Wednesday group ride. That puts me at goal. Good thing, because I likely won't have any more measurable movement this month. I'm traveling to Texas for my grandson's 3rd birthday party!

I'm back from Florida. After a walk around the airport yesterday waiting for my train and a run this morning I'm at 75/75.

@vhuber - Glad you are getting medical attention. Hope you are well soon. You know how this group works -- can we donate miles to you?

You don't have to. The world won't come to an end if I don't make goal for the first time! LOL
