Yes indeed, the attitude of gratitude is a key. I once had a yoga instructor that ended each class with a reminder to "be ever thankful for a body that can work this hard." Just that one line made me forget how hard the class was and be to be pleased I'd done something to make me stronger. My heart aches for that young man and his family.
E.C.T. for me!7 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
yes, yes, yes,
Exercise - hill repeats in hard body trail runner territory. Maybe hard body not so much. Some of them trail runners are pretty sparse. Had the place mostly to myself. Trail runner girl was there. Her and I aren't really all that conversant. We talked about the dead bear a while ago. Geesh that is coming up on a year ago. She is always going down the hill that I am going up so I don't know if she is a faster climber than me. Probably is.
But I kind of think how it is, she sees me doing repeats she doubles up on her loop and does 20k instead of 10k. If I see her twice she is doing two loops. There are people that just plain aren't going to quit while the crazy old guy is still doing his repeats.4 -
@fitqueenbess That is a wonderful gratitude reminder, "be ever thankful for a body that can work this hard." Thanks for sharing that inspiration.

This was a Friday off from work, so I spent over 3 hours working with the horses and doing a lot of walking in the sand round pen. It was made even more difficult because it rained 3/4 inch this morning. @jan110144 will understand what I mean about walking in the sand.
