Tonight has the potential to be a disaster or a victory for me. I'm taking my future sister-in-law out for her birthday dinner, and she said she wants sushi *gulp*. I tend to go all-out when I get sushi, with the justification that I don't get to eat it that often so I need to try all different types of rolls, and then when it ends up being too much for me to eat I make myself finish it all anyway because "it's so expensive" and let's be real, who feels comfortable taking home leftover raw fish and eating it the next day?
I've prelogged a cup of miso soup, two pieces of shrimp nigiri, an Alaska roll (salmon, avocado, cucumber), and a shrimp tempura roll (my favorite), and of course the 4 tbsp. or so of soy sauce. If I can stick to this, I'll still be under my calorie goal for the day.
I just wanted to put it out there on the interwebs in hopes of keeping myself accountable on a special occasion FOR ONCE (and it's not even my special occasion so there's that). That's one of the insights I've gained during this challenge - I've been treating my calorie goal as something that would be nice to hit, but giving myself way too many off days because of "special" circumstances. It's no bueno, and no wonder weight loss hasn't been happening for me!6 -
We are presently in Munich enjoying the sights. I would guesstimate, conservatively, we are averaging 5-6 miles per day. Here are a couple pics from the English Garden in Munich. We went there just to chill for a bit. There is a slight hint of color for fall.

@Breepa123 hope you were able to stick to your plan!0

And, @Breepa123 , what happened?0

I didn't get to try it out haha! She ended up wanting to go to the Indian restaurant around the corner from my house instead.
But I only ate half my dinner, one poppadum, and one quarter of the naan and I stayed under my calories, so that's a win. Instead of saying 'screw it, this tastes so good and I can make up for it tomorrow' I decided to meet my calorie goal instead, which is a huge issue with me when eating out. Now I just need an opportunity to try it with sushi!6 -
@Breepa123 Well done! Respect for your restraint!1

Another 6-7 miles of walking today...this time to Nymphenburg Schloss and park. Added the horse and carriage pics for the equine lovers!

I love living at the coast and because I work down there, I get to go walking or running along the beachfront as often as I like. This morning was a dark stormy mood (I also love the different moods of the ocean) but I went for a stroll along the beach paddling in the waves a bit. Yesterday was flat calm and the dolphins raced me on my run.

I do envy you! I live half an hour's tramride away from the beach, but in summer it's packed from about 10am. It's pretty empty now, so I'll be able to go again soon, but not every day, like you!3

@Dory_42 looks great! love living on the coast. I walk my dogs each night on a beach at the end of a street by me (but my summer is ending )
So much fun to see where team members get their exercise. Thank you for posting your shoreline beach walk @Ketch_22. @Dory_42 appreciate your photos all the way from South Africa, too.
Today...another day of no counting calories, no tracking...but lots of exercise for me. This is one of the places we visited today...and it was an uphill treck all the way to get there as well as another uphill treck to get to the bridge for this photo. Total of about 3 miles for this location...and we visited two other locations, as well. This Memaw needs an 8 hour nap, now. Catch you all later.

Back from chaperoning the camping trip with my students. It was great to be out in nature and get away from the city, though so nice to have a hot shower and comfy bed now that I'm back home.
Here's a photo of one the kids with the creek organisms they were identifying and logging!

I would be surprised if I gain any weight on this trip. We're on the go every waking hour. Last 5 days have been in the area of Salzburg, Austria. Here are two pics you might recognize. First is the gazebo from the Sound of Music. Second is the original Silent Night Chapel in Oberndorf bei Salzburg. There is an exact replica of the Silent Night Chapel in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
