Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better.
GOOD LUCK!

Hi Everyone! I am 46 yrs young from New York, NY. About 3 years ago I lost 30lbs. Somewhere along the lines I picked the 30 back up and it brought 30 more lbs with it. {Yes I gained a total of 60 pounds}. Being the biggest I have ever been, I recently started working out again. With arthritis in my lower back and knees, it's been rough, but I am doing it. The exercise program I'm doing is 21 day fix. It worked the 1st time so I am doing it again. Thank you RangerRickL for creating this group, it looks and sound like it will be fun, at least until the accountability piece kicks in LOL. Good luck to everyone!10

Hello🙋, my name is Jamie. This challenge is exactly what I need to get moving and be more accountable. My first goal is to lose 10% of my weight. Then to keep adjusting that number until I'm satisfied. Good luck to everyone!!!7

I'm back!!! Not only returning to this challenge this month, but back on the jiu jitsu mats after 8 months of injuries. So far it is only technique, but as my last injury heals I can do more. Broken arm, kidney donation surgery and then frozen shoulder kept me from my exercise passion, but I still get to play with seals, snakes and spiders at work which is another passion for me. Work is fun and rewarding and full of activity. I live in South Africa so we are just heading into summer while means stranded seal pups and trips to sea to return them to mom after we have done brief rehab and swimming with the resident seals (and of course meeting the newest member when my favourite seal gives birth in late Nov or Dec).
I picked up about 5kgs during my injuries but I also need to drop about 3 from my previous maintenance level as I cannot do weight cuts for competition on one kidney and need to fight in the lower division even more now as my housemate is back at jiu jitsu as well and she is in the higher division (and we don't want to compete against each other.)
My November goals are to be cleared to train fully and to drop below 75 kgs consistently. Ultimately I need to be below 69 kgs.12 -
Hi everyone. I'm back from a one-month break and glad to be back. Life got crazy but like I said, I would be back and I am. I've missed you all and have been faithful to keeping the core commitments almost all days through October.
In October I joined two gyms. Both offer different things and our insurance allows me to be a member of both for only $30 a month total, so I am taking advantage of it. I'm working out at one or the other at least 5-6 days a week and absolutely loving it.
Summer water aerobics is over but both gyms offer the classes so I'm still going strong there. I've also added different cardio than just the recumbent bike and have enjoyed getting to know the other machines. And ... I've added working with weights. I spent an hour with a trainer at the YMCA to get to know how they work and find out which ones he recommended for me.
Hope everyone has a great finish to October and we'll see you on the first.8 -
Hi all,
I’m one of the yo-yo masters, I’m pretty good at loosing, and pretty good at gaining back. This time, I’m focusing on losing slowly, hoping it’ll help me stick with it. I’ve lost a little over 10lbs so far and would like to lose an extra 25.
Second month doing the challenge. Really enjoyed the last one and am hoping to do better this month.
As for time zones, I’m based in Barcelona!
A bunch of success to all you losers!
@Dory_42 you just answered the question I had about your job on the previous post. No need to repeat. Sounds like quite a cool job indeed

Hi everyone. I'm back for my third month. I live in Pennsylvania, USA, but I'm originally from Washington, D.C. I'm almost over a knee injury ("runner's knee"), and like to jog and hike in a nearby national park/civil war battlefield. My profile photo shows where I exercise.
I'm about 4 pounds away from "normal" (not overweight). My big challenge will be to maintain my health and not slide back into eating whatever's in front of me.
The UAC challenge has been very helpful. See you all in November!8 -
Participating in the UAC challenge with the goal being to live a healthy life has been my focus since December 2017. Monitoring calories, logging, and exercise are the key components of this challenge, yielding success when coupled with individual determination to stay on track. The challenge excludes no one, other team members are supportive, and members are encouraged to stay with the group for accountability even if the coveted “Winner’s Circle” won’t be achieved. Welcome to all the new team members joining UAC for the first time, and to the "virtual friends" with whom I have become acquainted in the last several months. I am privileged to be among you!8

Hi! I’m new to this! I started my weight loss journey September 2018 and successfully lost 50 lbs. I decided to train for and complete a half-marathon which was awesome but I fell off the wagon with my diet in the last months of training and gained back about 15 lbs So now that my half is over I’m re-focusing in reaching my goal weight and have 35 lbs to go! I just got a subscription to Beachbody on Demand and started one of their programs on Monday and I’m still running. This is the first week I’ve really been back on track with my diet and exercise since September and I’m looking forward to having some accountability in November!10

Hi all! I love reading these intros, getting to know new members and learning a little more about existing members.
@BonnieHosk85 Welcome back! I was just thinking about you yesterday, hoping you were well
November starts my 7th month in UAC. I think I’ve made it to the Winners Circle about half the time but I’ve stayed active to the end no matter how many pass days I had. It’s made a difference. @vivalavida82 I’m like you, I needed help in learning to be slower and steadier. UAC is built for that!
I’m in slow crawl weight loss mode now. My focus is more on bf% than weight, but my guess is I need to get down another 3lbs. Hoping to get there by Christmas.10 -
Aren't you so sweet, @goldthistime! Thanks! It's good to be back in this wonderful community!!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the UAC and I'm excited to join the group. My name is Alice, my hobby and main source of exercise is rock climbing and riding my bike all over the place. I'm currently going for a master's degree in sustainable agriculture.
I have a question. My training routine includes mandatory full rest day every week. How do I count that as *not* a pass day? Anyone else in the same boat?4 -

My workout program as active recovery days where I do yoga & stretching instead of my strength training and cardio. I was going to count that as my 20 minutes of exercise on those days.4 -
Hello, I am new. I have the tools and resources to be successful and make all the excuses not to be successful. I am in grad school, internship, work, kids, and lots of other distractions. I started off the semester strong, waking up early to workout and then I got busier and tired. I am here to because being accountable to myself isn't working. I am going to give this a shot and maybe lose some weight in the process. I have already gained 10 pounds since starting school. My ultimate goal is to lose 50 pounds and I have unsuccessfully been working on that for 4 years, with +/- 10 pounds. I graduate in May and would like to lose 30 pounds by then. So here's to new beginnings in November!
Also, for exercise I like spin classes, yoga, and barre. I also walk my dogs and when I have time I will stand up paddle board.7 -
Hi everyone, I’m new to UAC and just getting started again with MFP. I am 41 years old and need to lose 50 pounds. I have struggled to lose weight for about 14 years (ever since I got pregnant with my daughter). I need to do this. I can’t feel the way I do anymore. I just have to be committed. I’m praying that I stay committed with this challenge and finally change my life.6

Hi @alice_climbs_rocks I understand exercise doesn't have to be intense (like rock climbing or running), but could be cleaning your house, walking at work or to class, etc.; in other words, some movement. Here's a statement from the challenge FAQs:
EXERCISE EVERY DAY FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES.
Be active every day for the entire month. Even if it's just cleaning your house for 20 minutes, be active. Skip a cumulative 3 days of not meeting the activity, or calorie, or tracking or logging in requirements, and you are out of the winner's circle. If you are still committed to accountability...stay in the challenge.

Good morning everyone! I'm new to this challenge. I started the year off great. Then Sept came and I jumped off the wagon. It's not that I don't know what to do...most days I choose not to.
I look forward to this challenge. I just have to stay focused and do it.
Good luck everyone, and have fun with it!7 -
33 year old working mom and full time student! I had originally lost 225lbs, now sitting at around 194lbs total loss since I gained some. Hoping to have aweaome continued motivation in November!10
