I have been on MFP since February, but just reached the upper end of my "ideal" weight range for my height this past week (4'11 and 113.8 lbs). Still have some stubborn belly fat that I want to reduce so plan on still losing a few more pounds to get to 110 before considering body recomp (have been strength training all along as part of weight loss to conserve muscle, but have been using heavier weights since late Sept). Any others here doing recomp? Would love to have more friends as I start this part of the journey for inspiration!

I am thinking about recomp alot. Right now I am upping my calories and reducing the deficit + doing strength training and being active.
However, I am still a bit too focused on habits and weight loss, and I think recomp will be centered around getting enough protein and progressive strength training.
I read the Maintenance forum everyday so I am well read in all the info but obviously doing it will give me a layer of knowledge I still don’t have. Reading about how it can also be a byproduct of an active lifestyle (vs being super meticulous) is also giving me a lot of hope that I wont’ be hyper focused on this process and could just enjoy myself along the way.
Recomp is definitely in my future, just not right now. But I love seeing people doing it and talking about it so I wish you a lot of fun and success on your journey!

I’ve been able to recomp quite a bit by treating it that way. Life has caused natural bulk/cut cycles. I gain weight when I’m happy and I lose weight when stressed. As long as my macros are decent and I’m consistent with my workouts, it works well without logging or really weighing myself. I’m talking slow and small changes btw. I only use MFP for support nowadays and to keep me mindful of my food choices and daily exercise.2 -
@mom23mangos Ah, that’s very good to hear. I have seen your recent picture and you look phenomenal. It’s wonderful to know that it’s possible to do it with/without MFP (with enough self awareness I suppose) and live a life to the fullest. Can’t wait to get there. I mean the recomp lifestyle.
