hehe thanks!
I couldn't imagine doing it either! every time I do a long swim and don't die afterwards I am gobsmacked. Dory's song of 'just keep swimming' is spot on!
sideline challenge is to beat last years swim mileage (230) - so any spare moment over xmas I shall be in the pool! Should just get to around 250 if I do all I have planned.Bruceapple wrote: »No, pool closed for two weeks , maintenance 😒

I've been doing a lot of strength training and so have had to cut back on swimming to rest more often. But today, I took an ocean meander for 45 minutes. Ohhhhhh, home sweet home! So many tropical fish. I also found about 60 feet of fishing line stuck in the coral, and after several consecutive dives, was able to get 95% of it out. I was concerned about getting tangled in it but rolled it up into a ball and stuffed it into my swim suit to take to shore. Makes the place safer for the turtles that sleep in that area too.

High wind advisory, rain, grey overcast skies, cold water... only the die hards! Even the canoes cancelled. An empty parking lot but we went for a swim! Despite the gusts and chop, there was actually great visibility. Lots of fish! Puffers, needle, tang, parrot, goat, and I don't know all the names. Short swim of probably 45min, and the showers were much warmer than the air and ocean. Love swimming.0

Good swim last night - about 3,000 yards. Trying to work back up slowly but surely.1

Swam out to a deep sea canyon where a group of turtles live. Some current taking us out, and resistance on the way back. About 90 min total. Lots of marine life as usual.0

About 1,800 yards last night. Was being a little lazy - kept a slow but consistent pace and largely ignored the workout (that's what happens when the coach doesn't show up!)1

5,000 yards today and 30,000 yards for the week. I need a nap.1

Maybe 1.5km today, plus stopping to dive around for marine life observation and play in the waves. Lots and lots of fish!0

I finally got a swim in. It's been really hard fitting as much lap swimming into my schedule this year. Work schedule changed, and I went from 2x to 3x per week lifting. But yesterday, it worked and I got an hour of laps. Just some consistent cardio. Nothing too strenuous (M and W are too strenuous to make Tuesday any harder). But it felt good, and I was glad that my body remembered what to do.0

2nd swim this week was yesterday. I haven't had that happen since November. Another hour of my usual back and forth, but it felt good. I was tired when I was done, but stayed for the deep cardio class to ensure a great night's sleep. It worked0

Got in my swim this morning. It's only been a few days back in the pool, and I had been easing in by doing backstroke. Today I did a half hour of freestyle (950 yards). It was nice knowing that my body remembered. I'm going to be building my stamina and yardage back up.1
